Your erasing(?) is meticulous and the line work on the helmet is great. You really should be proud.
What mediums are you planning to use in the future?
Thank you, you made my night.
I still wish it would have turned out better, but you can't really erase sharpie now can you?
I am working on blanking the Char right now, I hope to have it done by the time I go to sleep, but that's not going to happen. Ravnica ink was just better quality.
He means what are you going to use, paint, sharpies, distilled virgin's blood, angel's urine, a root from the tree Yggdrasil, etc...
In any case, I'd definitely like to give a shoutout to scullymagic's mother back on page 1120, as I don't think anybody mentioned how awesome the cards came out, let alone how many mothers of players get into the more obscure facets of Magic (relatively speaking).
The two Elspeths are a great thesis on women in general. When you first meet one, she costs a decent amount to attract, makes you stronger and gives you the feeling that you're flying. She also goes to great lengths to protect her loved ones from harm. After a while, she gets more expensive to maintain, gives birth like a sow, becomes less loyal after doing so, and tops it all off by wrecking crap around the house. Except hers, of course.
You should also use a toothpick to scratch off the bits over the text boxes so it looks square.
This is exactly what I was going to suggest. The paint is pretty thick and it's really distracting the way it comes into the graphics. If the paint chips when you scrape it away, try dabbing the toothpick on a damp paper towel* first. Damp toothpicks will erase almost anything and tend to chip paint less. The final presentation would be so much better with just a bit of clean up.
*As tempted as some people are to use their mouth, don't. Paint is poisonous.
Sweet advice, I'll pass that along to my Mom. I was going to tell her to make some type of adjustment to fix that problem, but I had no idea how to do it myself. >.<

Spujika: Hey, we all start somewhere The heraldry/ tattoo style is cool. Are you using crayon or pencil by chance?
If you colouring, try extremely close, uniform, parallel strokes that can avoid any white gaps from showing through. It also helps the colour look more consistent. Essentially, you draw the outline work and colour it in with lines that go up>down (lift implement) up>down etc IIIIIII so that they overlap so very slightly. How long the strokes are is up to you.
Brought to my attention by a fellow user, I check eBay.
Okay okay, so hey, Dale guy from mananation with the Putrid Leech tutorial, If you are going to copy like my whole Domo zoo ... could you at least do it well?
They seriously look like they are just slopped on there. If you are supposed to take people copying you as a complement, how should I take this?
I take my time when I do Domo-kun alterations, I make sure each looks like they have substance and expression.
I tried to set a good standard for them, Domo is not just a brown rectangle with arms and legs.
You have to make him feel like he is there.

The realm razor is my first rare alter. I'm pretty happy with the outcome, but looking at it upclose I realized I forgot to toothpick it and I already clear coated it! Grr..

I actually saw those on the auction site a few days ago while I was looking up the terrible printed proxies of tarmogoyf that are being sold on there as well. I'm glad you saw them.
I'm curious what other people think as far as copying an altered art idea you see someone else do? IMO. if you're modifying cards for yourself and copying an original idea from someone else that's fine, but if you're selling them or doing a commission of them that's not ok. What's people like Yawg, T4HM, Bigup, Cardkitty and other people that pump out a lot of original alters opinion on this?

Ok granted my opinion probably doesn't matter here, but meh, I would like to weigh in.
Why would you think this is wrong? Isn't the very nature of what we are doing here wrong then also?
I mean especially do to the fact that Domo-kun is copyrighted.
Do any of the people here have any legal right to use the images that they use?
I know I don't.
But it's fun, and that's all that should matter. Yes this guy is making money off blatant thievery, but any of use who use copyrighted material do also.
I am not trying to anger anyone, and I especially mean no disrespect to anyone, but lets put things into perspective here.
I saw the Domo alters on eBay and at first I thought it was yawg since I remember he did regular Domo alters, but after examining them up close I realized they weren't, but didn't really think much of it other than there just being another person out there doing Domo. I wasn't really astounded until jut now when I saw that yawg had not only done Domo on Zoo cards, but that these new playsets are basically knock-offs of his previous work.
I think imitating style or elements is generally fine. I make suggestions to my Mom and show her examples of everyones work here along with the stellar advice you guys give. However, to take an entire theme, and basically just copy it is really weak. I can understand trying to meet a demand for Zoo-Domo cards, but an attempt to put some creativity, originality or personal touch to it is what makes alters so awesome in my opinion. Alters shouldn't feel mass produced and replicated.
a few alterations i just finished up:
Sharuum the Hegemon (comission)
Counterspell (for my cube)
Fallen Angel (for my altered angel collection)
I'm always available for comission. I like trading for more cards to alter, or cards for my cube/edh deck. I'm currently doing alterations for 3 members here

For now Sharpies, because that's all I have lying around, but if you want to see one done in blood I can certainly try.
I have done art before with blood, I just don't know how well it will stick to a card face, meh, I give it a shot some day.

Yeah, saw those over the weekend and chuckled.
Yours do look better.
Please remember, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But yeah, really not very creative.

I think I am going to put "Aznable" next to "Char", and I have to find a suitable quote.
What do you all think for the quote?
1. Blame it on the misfortune of your birth....it's nothing personal, thank your father!
2. One does not care to aknowledge the mistakes of one's youth.
3. I don't know any other way to make a living.
4. Amuro, I'm being naughty.
5. I'm Char Aznable, it's my destiny to enforce discipline.
