After viewing all these alters and seeing friends who have commissioned cards from people, I had to have a crack at this myself. I bought some acrylics and brushes, and got to work. After a few trial/error cards, I've finally nailed some good borderless cards. I'm super proud of these, as I'm the last person I would have ever expected to start painting.
It's understandable blue control players would be shocked and in denial at the notion of this card, since their decks have been dominating multiple formats for an eternity yet they've curiously never once had to deal with any counter-hosers that weren't ineffectual, narrow CRAP.
an extension on the tarn would be sick... I'm not sure what else you could do with that though... I mean, Misty Rainforest... that just sounds kind of obvious...
a few people at my pre release opened double fetch lands. best i got was bloodghast.. used him and second from my winnings pack to help trade for my second 2 baneslayers though. i do hope to have better luck with my box on friday.. i'll have the lucky gf open them for me
nice paintings everybody. I'm going to try and paint the 4/4 beast and 5/5 zombie tokens tonight
Doesn't look to bad. Just imagine her back leg is on fire (shes chandra) and its moving really fast and its a blur! (shes running?) still looks pretty cool.

So much time, energy, love, and money for.. cardboard. It's a love-hate relationship.
Lol..Yeah Yawg! Do it!
Okay, so here are those really bad charms to finish up the cycle...at least, the ones I have. Yeah, I know, they turned out really bad. They started as an experiment, though...
Grixis and Naya Charm:
Now, here's some better stuff!
LOTR Themed Brassclaw Orcs:
And a Ronin Warclub. The idea seemed pretty obvious. Sorry if it's been done before!!!
ANY feedback is MOST DEFINITELY WELCOME. I realize I'm not as good as others, but hey, I try.
Thanks!
As a long time lurker of this thread, frequently dropping in to admire the work posted, I wanted to ask if any of you (the artists) had considered putting some of your work up for auction in the auction house forum of this very site? There are many on these forums who do not have access to eBay but would like to buy from a trusted member. As for the artists, you would not be charged the exorbitant smattering of eBay fees, in addition to having the peace of mind that eBay won't pull your auctions on a whim because they can't tell the difference between digital and paint, etc.
Anyhow, if there is interest in this, count me in as a potential bidder.
So... Today I spent about 3 hours fighting with a Mana Crypt. The perspective is really odd and the way it was painted, Tedon puts the viewers eyes about 2 feet into the wall and the edges start getting all fish-eyed. This was my solution to the problem, but it ends up being pretty dark. Anybody have any suggestions?
It's just one of those cases, where my eye and brain can't see what I am doing anymore and I need outside opinions. Thanks!
I actually really like it the way it looks now. It just adds a mysterious layer to the card I never saw. Something like walking into a dungeon, with the combination of stone and muscle/tendon on the wall.
More importantly, It doesnt seem to fisheye with my PoV, just makes it look more interesting. Don't change it, if you ask me.
Galspanic, I also think it looks great the way it does now.
Here are some of the stuff I did recently. I'm back at school now, and the library is the only place with scanners, so I will use crummy pictures until somebody complains.
Dimir Signet Dimir Aqueduct
The above two are part of a commission. I look forward to never doing another Avon land again; he just works at such a high resolution and leaves a lot of fine lines in his work.
Bloodbraid Elf
This is just for me, and I really like how it turned out. Thinking about making an entire Jund deck to this tune if I have time.

It's fantastic. Your work really adds to the art, and I would keep it like it is... it really adds more depth.
I like that idea PriestofGix. Hopefully some of the alterers around here will try it out.
That there are huge images to load and it might take a while. It warns people with Dial-Up Internet that it might kill their connection, freeze stuff up, or whatever... and that's just my speculation.
@Galspanic: When I did mine, I simply fish-eyed it. Man it was over a year ago.
Can't say it was the BEST way to handle it, but I got so freaking immersed in the detail work it was too late to want to change it.
I really like the way you handled yours, it makes it seem more like a dungeon.
Yawg- I appreciate the example. I had a hard time finding other Mana Crypts people had done and I always like to figure out what worked and what didn't.
Everyone else- Thank you. I am sure you know how it is when all you need is someone to pull the reins. I'll just leave it alone.
Now that the bottle is warm, it's time to feed the baby (he has remarkably sharp claws this morning).
....Can I have it?
Sorry for the really bad picture, will scan later.
Nice work as always, love the water.
I always wanted to alter that card with the Mario brothers going down the rive in rubber rafts.
I have one more great card I opened up yesterday "Misty Rainforst"

Sorry, Galspanic, but that just made it sound like you either have a kitten or a kid that's part animal.
Cute.
