I've never done a commission before, do I just ask here or something?
Yup, just send a pm to a willing artist.
In other news, CONTEST! I will be at Gen-con on Saturday, so anyone who can find me will get a Dr. Teeth Variant Psychatog, like this one!
I will be wandering about doing normal gamer things, but I will have a name tag labeled "Dr. Teeth". Find me in a Where's Waldo fashion, and claim the reward! Supplies will be limited, so find me quickly!

So I was just recently introduced to this whole idea of card altering, but I figured I'd toss my two cents in and share my setup, which is to just tape the card down to some paper using that blue painter's tape. This way nothing gets under the card, it doesn't slide around, the tape makes nice neat edges, and it won't tear when you peel it off.
And here are the cards that I've made so far:
Voidmage Husher:
Giant Growth:
Elvish Visionary:
Doom Blade:
Synod Sanctum:
Mind Rot:
Yawgmoth's Bargain:
As you can probably tell, I prefer doing full arts to extending the borders, but unfortunately Wizards' art department does a good job of focusing the art in the space they have, which makes most cards difficult to fill out.
The painting is great, but I think the area around the name looks off. The way the paint comes up right to the G feels a bit wobbly/wonky to me. It feels like it needs to be more symmetrical and less rounded on the bottom.
Do you use any color glazes after you've laid down the paint? I ask because the white and black paint feels kinda chalky and a very thin glaze with a low pigment load can really change the temperature of the scene. Personally, I am a fan on Ultramarine Blue glazing in the shadows and Yellow Ochre glazes in the highlights to give the lit areas a more dominant presence. Mineral pigments are my favorite, but I think yours would look great with a super thin synthetic pigment glaze. Really though, your stuff looks solid and has been a reference for the work I have started lately.
@dr teeth, that robo-ape looks great, really cool idea, where was the inspiration for that?
The cyber-gorilla helper from a Hellboy comic. I always thought it was a cool design, and this one's pretty similar. Some folks will say Cygor from Spawn, but it isn't.

another commission, i really like the background in reflecting pool, and im pretty happy with sensei's diving top although it is the standard extended...
beware!!! im am mainly almost entirely painting x-men from now on!!! ubtil forever
EDIT: @V love that brainstorm
It's easy to tell these were done fast and just to get them finished... not that exciting compared to your more conceptual work.
I still do lots of basic borderless stuff too but don't bother posting them because what's the point.
This is pretty sweet man. I've liked your text changes for a while now, but they've always been just a decent addition. This thou...unless I have honestly never seen the artwork for this card, I'm super impressed (this is new right?) Good stuff and good luck with the move.

Should I be sad that I have absolutely no idea what Gen-Con is?
