At my shop, there's a guy who got the mana symbols in a band around his right bicep. Looks sweet. It's tempted me into getting the mana symbols in the classic pentagram arrangement (a la back-of-every-card) on my back. As a big tattoo, not some little symbol. And I come from a background where even complete rebels don't consider tattooes.
Your artist did a great job. I think making the edges of it look less stark (less "cut off") would help a bit (mostly on the bottom), but it looks badass (if you are into that sort of thing). Any passerby would just guess that it's from a heavy metal album or something.
I plan on getting tattoos, but they'll be very, very minimal, both on colors and design (a few being text only).
I definately plan to get an MTG tat at some point. Some people may say its nerdy, or avoid it because it may seem to trendy but the simple fact of the matter is you get a tattoo for yourself, not for anyone else. If MTG has been enough a part of your life that you actually consider getting one, you shouldn't disuade yourself because people might think your nerdy... embrace it... luckily however most of the artwork that would make for good tattoos don't always single you out to be an MTG fan... though real fans of MTG will often pick up on them.
I can't really narrow it down to what i want yet, it could be the 5 mana symbol's wrapped around a bicep, the Black/white hybrid symbol from my signature... or if i can find an artist who can utilize necropotence without it looking blocked off that.
I am getting they Hyozan symbol with AngelChampion this Fri. Him and I have talked about it for years, and finally my fiance is getting them for our birthdays. We have always considered each other Reckoners, its kind of our pact of brotherhood.
I once branded it in to his flesh, then cooled the iron in water and drank it up. (sounds psychotic but I guess you really have to know use to understand)
But the brand faded, so now it's time to get it set in ink.
It's going on my forearm, so it can be seen while holding a sword.
I will post pics of them on Sat.
Other then that I want the Mana symbols running down the back of my left forearm, and I would like to get Liliana on my leg for my daughter.
Oh, my ex wife got a cover up once and turned it into the Saviors expansion symbol.
Well, there is no official image but, it describes it in the book as a triangle, with a line through it I believe, at least thats how we always draw it.
I always thought of it as a "cave drawing" of an iceberg, since Hyozan means "ice mountain"
EDIT : Here's the Tattoo -
The Kanji from right to left "Brotherhood" "Iceberg" "Rekoners"
Sweet thing is I got it outlined in clear black light reflective ink, so when under a black light it will glow as a "negative". I thought it was pretty sweet.
@Joe Chaos, holy☺☺☺☺ your tatoo artiste made an amazing job, that Platinum Angel looks wicked.
@bobbythesquirrel, if i were you, i would made a smaller one. Yes, it's oldschool, but nice for a tatoo.
I would consider getting the red mana symbol or the simic symbol on my left shoulder. Probably not one thing on each shoulder though. Also I'd probably draw it on myself and have that for a couple weeks, but that's just because I'm a little afraid of tattoos. Maybe in a few years.
Mad03, that Nicol Bolas is flat out TIGHT. If I didn't already have a back tattoo, I'd consider stealing that idea.
As for my own tattoo, I'm currently in the drawing stages for an etherium sleeve piece, reminiscent of Master Transmuter and Etherium Sculptor. I'm going to work it so the Phyrexian symbol is visible under the Etherium, as well. I'm really excited to see it done!

Hey, I like this one a lot! Looks great on you.
I think if I were to ever get one, it probably would just be a mana symbol.

For something like Necropotence, I bet an artist like Paul Booth would make it look beyond amazing.
