Question; is there a way to DELETE old decks that you aren't using anymore? I realize it's not hugely important, but in cleaning house, I get kind of type-A anal retentive and wanted to delete a couple of experimental decks I don't use anymore. Any info on this is greatly appreciated.
Might be repeating a few points here, but since i didn't find any feedback on the forums...
Is there a way to sort my cards by alphabet instead of CMC? It's better than the cluster f*ck we had before, but i'd still prefer alphabetical.
The spacing of decklists is aweful. I'm not able to see a complete EDH decklist on a 1920x1080 screen without either zooming out or scrolling. Combined with the random sorting of cards it makes it aggravating to cross-check decks.
Why doesn't removing a card automatically remove said card from any sections it might be featured in?
The sorting situation is propably the worst. Aside from aforementioned problems i'm content with the deckbuilder though.
edit: Just realized decks are sorted by CMC within categories (since when!?)
I want to second these concerns and state that the sorting mechanism (or lack thereof) is actually the entire reason I don't use the Deck Builder. There are other issues, but that is the biggest one for me.

We have been stretched thin on developers and dev time of late. Unfortunately I don't have much more than that right now. We have built a list of requests and we hope to get many of them accomplished when we do get developer time again.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
1. When building a deck with the paste button, the cards that are put into my deck automatically don't make much sense.
Very often a rare promo is added, instead of versions with much more common printings.
I don't know how the software chooses which version/set is picked when a pasted card is added, but can't it be configured that it will pick one of the main sets?
An alternative could be to add the cheapest card, since prices are known.
2.
The main deck lists the lands as 'basic land'. (See attached screenshot).
This is a flaw, in my opinion. Magic has a very clearly defined concept on what 'basic land' is, and not all lands are basic land.
I suggest to use the header 'lands' instead.
3.
The deck tags are not clickable.
When clicking these tags, I expect to navigate to search results for other decks that share this tag.
4.
(see three)
The name of the deck creator is not clickable.
I expect that when I click on the name of a deck creator, that I will browse to search results for all the decks created by that user.
5.
Decks overview.
The column header 'deck type' is not sortable. I expect that this header functions the same way as other headers, namely that clicking on them will sort the table.
6.
Decks overview.
The number of decks on a page is not counted.
I expect to see how many decks there are on a page. This could be included in the navigation buttons at the bottom.
7.
Deckbuilder.
There are no card-tag buttons in the edit bars of the text fields.
Can these be added?
Even more feature request:
a.
Allow users to set the converted mana cost of a spell by themselves.
I want Everflowing Chalice in my mana curve as a 2 (or 4). I want Flame Javelin as a three in my mono-red deck, and not as a six.
This is a feature that can make mtgsalvation stand out from the competition: correct mana curves.
b.
Sort by mana curve in the deck overview screen.
The average mana cost of a deck is already calculated.
One could make the header of column that contains the mana curves a clickable header, where the table gets sorted on average mana cost when clicked.
c.
Evaluate the use of the 'quick info' and 'general' text boxes for the deckbuilder.
My gut feeling says that there is a huge overlap between both, and that having only one could suffice.

Our system as it is designed pulls the last added version of a card to the list (which is often the promos). There are some cases where we throw out our DB and pull everything fresh which happens infrequently but it can sometimes pull them in out of order of when they were printed as well. We have put in a request to be able to set the auto populate set of cards but as of right now its not something we can do.
I understand the frustration with this and I guess the best I can say right now is that you can manually change it to another version if any of them are annoying to you. Its not a great solution but it is something that is on our list of requests as I think the default choice of version probably should never be a foil promo version.
2.

This is a flaw, in my opinion. Magic has a very clearly defined concept on what 'basic land' is, and not all lands are basic land.

It is on our list of requests to fix but it requires a developer to change it which currently we do not have any active development as of right now. The curse devs have many projects and right now they are working on another site but we have been compiling things like this for them for when we do get dev time again. It is on the list I guess is all I can say.
3.
The deck tags are not clickable.
When clicking these tags, I expect to navigate to search results for other decks that share this tag.
I am not sure that that is really a bug but a difference in design. The combo box is right above and its fairly quick and easy to pick a deck type to search.
4.
(see three)
The name of the deck creator is not clickable.
I expect that when I click on the name of a deck creator, that I will browse to search results for all the decks created by that user.
Again, I am not sure that is a bug but a difference in design. You can click on a deckbuilder but it will give you their profile. Once you are at a user's profile you can click on "decks" as a tab which will pull up their decks.
5.
Decks overview.
The column header 'deck type' is not sortable. I expect that this header functions the same way as other headers, namely that clicking on them will sort the table.
Alternative sorting options such as sorting alphabetically within a section is something we have requested as an option. I am not sure that I fully understand what you are asking for though if not that. They asked us how a deck should be sorted and the decision was that by cmc and alphabetically within that was a good default.
6.
Decks overview.
The number of decks on a page is not counted.
I expect to see how many decks there are on a page. This could be included in the navigation buttons at the bottom.
I think its always 20 per page. I am not sure that listing a number up to twenty is really that helpful. It might be more reliant to number how many results came back but even that I am not sure if it would really be that helpful that we need to ask a developer to add it.
7.
Deckbuilder.
There are no card-tag buttons in the edit bars of the text fields.
Can these be added?
We have a number of requested improvements for the additional information boxes that are provided including that. We want each box to ideally have all the functionality you normally have when posting. The tags all still work in those sections (I think all of them do at least) so you can manually type a tag out and it works its just a huge pain that they did not put all of the functionality in each box. Again its on the list of requests of the devs.
To be honest, I am not really sure how difficult that would be to program in for the devs. It might also be a little misleading to readers when a card could have multiple casting costs and be in multiple places. I do understand what you mean though and it would be nice to put it in the right place and not artifically increase your average CMC and what not because of a mechanic that it can't nicely take into account.
I will mention and pass it along but I suspect the answer is that it might not be something we can control. We probably could set the cmc as a hard number in our DB as to where it shows up but then it might be inaccurate in the opposite way. I suspect this one would be tricky for us to do.
b.
Sort by mana curve in the deck overview screen.
The average mana cost of a deck is already calculated.
One could make the header of column that contains the mana curves a clickable header, where the table gets sorted on average mana cost when clicked.
I am not entirely sure I understand your request here. Some have requested some additional functionality for the graphs and to my understanding they are not intended to be interactive. It is possible that some sort of interactive grid could be cool but it is far enough out in terms of requests that I doubt we would look into it as right now our concern is more tied to fixing bugs and getting things working as intended.
c.
Evaluate the use of the 'quick info' and 'general' text boxes for the deckbuilder.
My gut feeling says that there is a huge overlap between both, and that having only one could suffice.
All of the text boxes are something we would love to get to change. It is very odd that we have 5 boxes with pre defined headers. There is a request (I am not sure how likely it will get done) that we do away with all or possibly all but one of the boxes and let users put custom header names on them.
This is probably a lower priority request though in that technically there is nothing broken about it. Its more that these sections would be far more helpful if they could be customized and users could add and or remove sections as they needed. It depends on how much work it would be for such a rework and how much benefit would come from it.

Bug: Not all of my decks show up in my 'Decks' tab in my profile (specifically my Oloro deck); one of them appears twice (specifically, my Ezuri deck).
Thanks to whoever finally fixed this.
Okay, so now my Captain Sisay deck appears twice and my Gisela deck doesn't appear at all. It's really weird that this keeps happening. Is there a way to look into why this bug keeps popping up?
I just wanted to add my Traxos, Scourge of Kroog list and ran into one major problem and one minor disturbance.
1. The deckbuilder won't allow me to run more than 1 Wastes.
2. Warping Wail and Spatial Contortion are listed as multicolored spells, even though they are not.
Would be great if at least the first one would be solved accordingly somewhen.

Is there any way to select which version of a card the deckbuilder shows? I used it for the first time to see what by low-budget Tatyova build had (deck 5436), and it's coming in really high because rather than the cheap $0.25 uncommon of Urza's Factory, it's pulling the $18 full art promo.

In the deckbuilder, right-click Factory to remove it, and use "Search by Keyword" to find the printing you want.
For reference, the builder only finds versions from sets legal in your chosen format.
HI! Just wondering if the issue of having no way to delete a deck from your own account is ever going to be addressed? This post that I am replying to was from April, 2018. It is a full 2 years later and still no way to delete a deck unless it is come crazy complicated process that I can't seem to find anywhere on the deckbuilder. I know this site is WAY older than that too because I used to use this site back when I was a kid MANY years ago, probably over 10 years ago. Why has this never been addressed? It seems like something that should be ridiculously simple to just add a button to delete a decklist. I like this site A LOT. The deckbuilder is really the easiest and best one I have found when you are working on an experimental deck idea. WAY, WAY, WAY better and more intuitive than TappedOut. I usually build my decks here on MTGsalvation first and then export the decklists to TappedOut after to use the simulator before printing proxies and playtesting and then finally buying cards for the deck that performs the best. But when I have nearly 20 decks built that I have been tinkering with and I want to slim down here on MTGsalvation to the decks that have worked out the best, there is no way for me to delete those decks that crashed and burned during playtesting. So when I want to go and tweak the decks that are better, I have to sift through a whole list of decks I don't even use anymore. It also makes me hesitate to continue making more decks on MTGsalvation based on new ideas because I know it's just going to contribute to growing the problem. The only solution I have is to go to a deck list that I have already saved and don't want anymore and individually delete every single card in the main deck and sideboard, delete all descriptions, deck avatar, etc and then build a new deck in it's place to avoid adding to my list of decks. Unfortunately, I didn't even realize I couldn't delete a deck until I already had something like 20 decks built!!! The length of my list of decks is already inconvenient and the only way I can see to fix the problem is to write down or copy and print my deck lists for the decks I want to keep and then abandon this account and make a new one and try to limit the number of decks I build to something like 10 or less. But it would be a pain to copy down like 4-6 decks that I want to keep, make a new account, and then put those decks back into the deckbuilder under my new account just to delete the other 10-14 decks I want to delete. Plus, then you guys have a ghosted account that doesn't get used, updated, etc. which I'm sure must be an inconvenience to you all in some way, shape or form. Then, finally, even if I do that I have to limit myself to only building a couple of experimental decks at a time to avoid growing my list of decks to an encyclopedia of broken decks that don't work out. That can be a problem too because especially when new sets come out, I usually end up coming across 10 or 12 different cards that I like and want to build a deck around and usually I end up building more than one version of the same deck to see which one works better. Having to constantly overwrite my decks will be just as much of a pain as having to ghost an account and transfer decks to a new account. So, I don't know if this problem just hasn't been taken seriously but as you can see, it is an ENORMOUS inconvenience generated over such a small and simple problem that I imagine shouldn't be that hard to fix and I am just wondering if it is ever going to happen? For now, I am probably going to just go ahead and ghost my account, make a new one and transfer my decks like I said. But ultimately it is only a matter of time before the inconvenience of just not being able to delete an old and abandoned deck idea will drive me away from using MTGsalvation as a resource as it probably already has driven many others away who have less patience than I do. Come on guys...it's been YEARS that we have waited for something so simple. Please, please, PLEASE...help us out, and likely help yourselves out. JUST GIVE US A DELETE BUTTON!!!
couple of issues that i have found with the deckbuilder, hopefully there's still someone watching this thread. first, there are multiple cards missing that i have noticed, including reprints of cards in commander 2019, along with the first and second radhas, which are, respectively, "radha, heir to keld" and "grand warlord radha" along with those two cards, there is a card that i have from a the mind and might duel decks called "snap" that is also not in the databases, these missing cards have prevented me from building a couple decks for my account. in addition to all this, the my decks tab for my account doesn't work, and just gives me a "not found" message. which is quite irritating, as the view on the "decks" tab contains more than just my decks, making it hard to keep track of decks. hopefully these issues will be seen and resolved quickly!
When I try to edit a one of my deck lists from Deckbuilder, instead of showing my deck it tells me to select a new Commander with all the cards I listed earlier completely deleted. When I tried to select the Commander I was using for the deck it doesn't show up at all. After 36 revisions to the deck list it won't let me edit it anymore.
All the other deck lists I posted on Deckbuilder are working just fine except for this recent one that I'm currently trying to revise again. Not sure why this is happening now since it didn't do this before. Anyone else having similar problems? I remember the last few times when I did successfully edit the deck it wouldn't load up after clicking "Save Deck" but when I clicked out of it and clicked back into it the deck had all the updated cards I added on there.

Does anyone know when Modern Horizons 2 will be added to the card pool on Deckbuilder? I tried choosing one of the new Commanders for building a new deck and it wasn't registered. I know the set just came out last week and I figured with card images already available at this time that it would've been available by now. Was initially going to report this to one of the Mods on here but didn't know If this thread was the best place for posting about it.
Edit: Figured out what the problem was. The only way to post decks with the new Modern Horizons 2 cards is by editing a pre-existing deck you already posted on Deckbuilder since it won't allow you to create a new deck with the new cards in it. Then I did an experiment by posting a new deck off of Deckbuilder except one of the cards that was once registered into the card pool was no longer available when I tried to type the card name in.

I remember the last few times when I did successfully edit the deck it wouldn't load up after clicking "Save Deck" but when I clicked out of it and clicked back into it the deck had all the updated cards I added on there.
Edit: Seems as though the problem has been fixed.
