Hello everyone!
My name is Michael and I am from Kansas. I am fairly new to magic and hoping you all can help me with a favor...
On July 26th I played in a Magic draft at a snakes and lattes in Toronto, Ontario. I made a friend named Nicolas Macdonado who was from Rio, Brazil. The name could be slightly misspelled, sorry. He mentioned this site as a resource so I was hoping I could find him on here and get connected.
Names Steve. I'm one of the originals when mtgs was started. Just getting back into magic. Edh mostly with some standard thrown in. Hopping to be a bit more active this time around.
Hey folks. I live in the greater Pittsburgh area (the rusty, decrepit bit), I'm 37 and have been playing Magic off (about the same amount of time playing and not playing scattered through those years) since Unlimited (though pretty much all of my old cards are gone now) . Almost all of my personal history with Magic has been kitchen table except for the past few months when a friend (who was in the same boat as me, playing off and on for about the same number of years) and I have begun attending standard / limited events at our lcs. While I wouldn't say I do drastically well there I guess I'm a bit of a “Johnny player” and I enjoy the few wins I do get with my drastically off-meta decks.
As a side note, I work in an emotional support classroom which several of my students play MtG (no small part of the credit for this goes to WotC who sent me several welcome decks to distribute among said students to give them a start) which is awesome. If any of you folks happen to be educators, if it is appropriate for your classroom, I would highly suggest doing the same.
My first Magic product was Portal Second Age and then Starter 2000 (<3 you Rhox). Since then I buy at least a booster pack every normal set, and sometimes from special sets too (like with Unstable or Iconic Masters)...and a lot of singles for my decks of course.
In store for now I played only the Amonkhet and Ixalan prereleases, but I look forward for Dominaria and the nostalgia of the time of my beginning
The thing I love the most in Magic (aside deckbuiling and playing) is the lore (and then the art)!
Nice to meet you all, I will be on this forum from time to time

Retired admin circa forever ago, reformed narcissist, and still a sassy curmudgeon. I grew up a bit, now I run a nonprofit org in Alberta and work with kids. I used to joke that my time here prepped me for my job, and that's only partially a joke. Helping to keep MTGS running taught me patience, the limits of authority, how to deal with conflict (hahaha, there was always so much conflict!), and how to keep folks engaged. So thank you for that.
Back into the game after a very long sabbatical (literally the last cards I ever bought before this return were from Planeshift, so ...), really only for EDH and custom card design. Woooo.

Hello everyone! I'm FranklinX. I am a casual Magic player. My main game is Vanguard. I play Magic on the side since it is the most popular game at my shop. I am expanding my knowledge of trading card games. My current deck is a basic white mono deck.
Hello everyone!
I recently just got back into MTG. I used to play a bit when I was younger with my brother. I have 4 suitcases of all of the old cards, yes the originals. I really don’t feel like going through all of them and building decks just to play my kids and some friends. I just bought the starter decks of M19 Green( Vivien ) Blue ( Tezzeret ). I am currently putting a white deck together but mainly playing with the Blue and Green decks I just bought. I’ve bought boxes of other cards that will work with M19 but this chick is having a blah moment and can’t really get my decks right. I have beaten my fiancé 4 times with my straight Green deck against his Black and Red but I also think he’s letting me win lol. Can someone, anyone help me build my decks up a bit better? I’ve googled it already but I don’t want to screw my decks up. If someone could help me I would greatly appreciate it. You can email me at kortkneeshayne @icloud .com Please and thank you in advance!
Hi, I just moved to Salem, Oregon. I moved for personal reasons and I don't have a play group yet. Decided to make an account to find players near by and to contribe to this community!
I go by Dody online. Mainly an EDH player.
Greetings folks! New to the game, long time lurker and finally a new shop opened up 2 miles from my house and decided to take the plunge. I always wanted to play MTG (and many other games be it cards, board etc) but I went to one of those homogenenous all boys schools where no one ventured off the path of being the best athlete you could be. I was a complete closet nerd with no real friends, just teammates who I just went along with.
Greetings, I'm Beef or Chris. I've recently gotten back into MTG via MTG Arena and thought this would be a good time to revisit this forum. I belonged to MTGSalvation many many many years ago by way of a site called Magic Deck Vortex and thought it would be cool to see how the site and community has grown since the days of IRC chat. I'm interested in competitive and creative T2 decks primarily as an Arena player. I hope to speak with some of you in the near future.
Hi, I played Magic from Onslaught to Kamigawa (not a pro-player, only to have fun with friends) and last month I subscribed on MTG Arena that rekindled my passion for this game also in real version, so I decided restart to play.
I’m here because there are a lot of things that I don’t know (at that time there weren’t even any Planeswalkers), and sometimes I need advice. I prefer the peaceful atmosphere of a forum instead of social networks because I think that are too fast and without moderation.
And as you can read in my signature I don’t know English so well, but I can try.
That’s all folks, see you around the forum
I’m fairly new to the site and wanted to introduce myself. I play Standard, EDH, and Modern formats. I like to create decks that have a focus on creativity and fun and love to build a deck based around strange cards. I also just launch a YouTube channel for MTG. I’m not here to spam my channel, but if do want to check it out there’s a link in my profile. I’m really looking forward to war of the spark, I’m very curious which direction they’re going with it.
Hello fellow Walkers of the Planes, I am a casual player who plays with a few friends, I am known as a but of a 'rules stickler' as I tend to read and study the rules until I can practicaly quote them. Because of this I became the 'go to' guy whenever a ruling needs to be made or explained. This became a bit of an annoyance to me, I got REALLY tired of typing gatherer.wizards.com 100 times a day. I am here because I would like to ask help from some other players, I wrote an android app that links straight to Gatherer and has a few other related features. I released it as a beta on playstore but have had NO hits yet, I would ask anyone who is interested in helping me refine it to contact me for a link, or (as I am not an artist) if anyone would be willing to help create some artwork for it (icon, backgrounds, etc.) I would greatly appreciate the help.. Disclosure: This app does NOT have ads or other revenue sources, I created it as a fan, not to make money so I have to work on it in my spare time, on my own dime. I am NOT posting this to spam for users to make me money.
Hey everyone! Long time reader of MTGSalvation here, I had an account with Curse but now it's Twitch so rejoining! Getting back into Magic as well after a couple years, looking forward to playing lots of green cards again!
