When I signed onto the staff ten months ago, I had a bit of a chip on my shoulder. I was veteran of Community Issues aside from my involvement in mafia and a stint or two in debate, and typically took the position that there were a lot of things about the staff that needed fixing. Despite my tendency to urge for changes in the way the staff handled things, Annorax came through and made the recommendation that brought me on board.
I had a giant laundry list of things I wanted to accomplish, problems to solve, and I couldn't help but wonder if all my ceaseless harping on transparency, multilateral decisionmaking, and respecting the userbase's wishes within the moderator lounge was going to get me fired sooner rather than later.
Flash forward to the present, and in a few short months the staff has made a dramatic turn around. Our philosophy of leadership has changed, lines of communication are open, and we've kick-started a dynamic process of ongoing improvement in our operations. While there are a number of issues still confronting us, such as standardizing staff actions, revising subforum rules, and continuing to augment our list of personnel, the staff is on a wonderful trajectory. Essentially, my wish list has been fulfilled.
In the meantime, I'm also looking forward to beginning a legal career, and making other priorities in how I spend my remaining spare time. Staying physically active. Being together with friends, family, and my fiancee. Perhaps writing a novel. And perhaps a little bit more time enjoying the community of the site itself, rather than managing it.
So although the temptation to remain is fairly strong, and I wouldn't rule out returning to the staff at some point if they'll have me, I've made the decision to step down as a MTGS moderator and administrator for the time being. I'm confident the current leadership will continue to effectively guide the subforum, and I'm proud of all the effort and work that all of our staff members put into making this site what it is today. Take care folks. I'll see you around.
Hot on the heels of such heartbreaking news, we are happy to say that Sene has graciously accepted the offer to step up & help fill Azrael's (cement) shoes. Three Cheers for our new Administrator, Sene!

In the MS Staff Inbox, Market Street users can create threads to raise issues privately with the staff – only they & the staff will be able to see the thread.
