I received a warning card for necroing a thread. Even after looking at the forum rules, I still don't really understand what necroing is. Is it responding to an old thread? What constitutes necroing, and when is something considered a necro and something considered not? How long before a thread becomes off limits to posting? I've never seen it anywhere else so I am asking as I don't want to receive another infraction.
Thanks,
Matt

Well, the thread you posted in had been inactive for over a month when you posted in it, which is a pretty fair guideline for what constitutes a necro.
If ever you're not sure, PMing the mod of the forum in question is generally the best way to go about things.
And yes, no incantatrix for you. Or anyone. That class makes puppies cry. Mostly because they are the former Big Bads who have been Baleful Polymorphed into said puppies. By you. Because you're an incantatrix.

Yeah, I don't see her handling a pissing match in any way other than a duel.

I suppose it's true. Though the logistics implied in a human/Great Wyrm Prismatic Dragon pairing makes me shudder.
...Something tells me that even should all arcane casters in the world unite, that the Grease spell would NOT be sufficient.
*Edit* Next time you mean, okay. Yeah, it's just I've never heard of this before, so this was kind of a shock. But it wasn't even that far down the page...
Personally though, I feel that I should possibly get a warning instead of an infraction, as it was a first offense. I understand that's up to the discretion of the moderator, but I have not been able to contact him to say my side.

I myself would have called that a necro, as what you said pretty much echoed the sentiments of others and was not a new take on the situation.
Edit: It is possible that a warning could have been issued instead but that is up to the discretion of the mod in the vast majority of cases. Try posting on his helpdesk.

okay, then I'm sorry about it. I should have asked when I didn't understand a little sooner, so in a way, 'twas my fault. But, was it a warning-able offense, or completely red card worthy? If it was, then again, I'm very sorry

there's a setting in your Personal settings to save you from being called a nerco as well.. just set it to anything within a two week period. if it's been posted on in the last two weeks it will be the only things that show up. if someone else necro's it. it's usually mentioned by a mod already And then locked to prevent further issues
I suggest Pming the Mod directly, or typing on his/her Helpdesk as that's a way to sually get thier attention so you can tell your side of the story as well.. and if it's up to thier discresion (i'm not sure about this last part?) but they may be able to downgrade it to a warning over a full on infraction.
