So, my friend and I had a question about the interaction between Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, and mirage mirror. Assuming mirage mirror copies a creature, and it then sacrificed to something, does it come back as a mirror with a +1/+1 counter? Or not come back at all?
Also, if it copies a creature with persist, does it come back, and does it come back without any counters as the persist and undying counter each other out?
When the Mirror, as a non-human creature, dies, Undying will trigger since it died as a creature. It will return as a "normal" Mirage Mirror but it will still return with a +1/+1 counter on it. The counter won't do anything until it becomes a creature again. If it dies as a creature again, and it still has the counter, it won't come back via Undying.
Persist and Undying just creates two triggers. Only one will actually return the creature; the other will fail to do anything. So, it is the controller's choice as to whether it returns with a +1/+1 counter or a -1/-1 counter; it will not return with both.

And, of course, if a creature has both Persist and Undying as well as either a +1/+1 or a -1/-1 counter, only one of the two 'return' abilities will trigger at all.

Notable exception: If the creature has at least one +1/+1 counter on it, and then it gets a lethal number of -1/-1 counters (say from Blightsteel Colossus or Black Sun's Zenith), when SBAs are checked, it dies with both +1/+1 counters and (presumably a greater number of) -1/-1 counters on it. Thus, it would just stay dead.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
As WizardMN said, rules questions should be asked in the Rulings forum make sure to use card tags). Since the question has been answered I'm locking this.

Thank you in advance!
