So far, the most interesting legend of the set. I appreciate WotC continue to make legends that aren't cliche or a niche, allowing Brudiclad to go many directions including, but not limited by, stereotypical Ravnica "guild pie".
At 6cc, Brudiclad will not play aggressively, though his trigger could swing the battle in one's favor by transforming his myr tokens to others, both artifacts and non-artifact, creatures AND non-creatures. Technically, you could transform your myr into an enchantment if you want to (for example, via someone else's Fractured Identity).
Brudiclad has the versatility of several deck styles:
Rule question: How will Warstorm Surge react to Brudiclad's myr, since it enters the battlefield but will transform within the same trigger, will WS damage be 2, or will it be however much the myr becomes?
I really like the idea of how you can just token-clone something of the opponents with clone legion, and then pick the best creature to turn the army into for swinging. "Oh, that's a nice pathbreaker ibex you have in that pile of creatures over there..."
While focusing on making a big spicy creature to token/clone is ideal, I think this is the kind of deck that would also want a few high-volume generic token producers. Pirate's Pillage: Overcosted impulse draw, but it leaves two noncreature tokens to either help refund it or transform later. Storm the Vault: Probably just ramp. Izzet colors, lots of artifacts. I hear Tolarian Academy was good. Spell Swindle: Counter target spell, profit. Probably not a card for tighter metas, but fun all the same. Brass's Bounty: effectively a on-off mana doubler. Or an excellent way to stock up on 7+ tokens all at once.
I know Clues are listed. But the Treasure-producers just feel more playable, in my opinion.
Rule question: How will Warstorm Surge react to Brudiclad's myr, since it enters the battlefield but will transform within the same trigger, will WS damage be 2, or will it be however much the myr becomes?
I'm not a judge, but from my understanding the game will use the last known power of the creature when the Warstorm trigger resolves. So I presume it will deal damage equal to the power it will be post-transformation, since the trigger will go on after the token has been made and changed.
Things like Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Feldon of the Third Path will be great here as well. I think we want to be focusing not on turning our tokens into big creatures but into creatures that do interesting things. On that note Helm of the Host is a great one to make a million copies of whatever legendary creatures you have in the deck (or even Brudiclad itself).
Also worth noting that the token you copy does not have to be a creature, so Saheeli's Artistry could be massive gain copying something like Powerstone Shard.
Curse of Opulence not only makes you less of a target, it gets you gold Tokens.
Why do you have a myr tribal sub theme going? While some make sense, such as the token producers, overall, no.
Because this is a brewing thread and some people might want to make a Myr tribal base on Brudiclad.
My thoughts exactly, we finally have a Myr commander that sadly was not a Myr.
Breya should have been errated to be a Human Artificer, and Brudiclad should be errated to be a myr artificer.
it is actually extremly annoying.
but since he is not officially a Myr, (As far as the card is concerned) i see no reason for the Myr Subtheme. I would actually shake my head at any deck that runs him as Myr tribal, He makes myrs, but does not support them.

Many people use Nath of the Gilt-Leaf to lead their elf tribal, even when he's not specifically supporting elves aside from making elf tokens. Vela the Night-Clad is popular with ninja, not because there's "ninja" in her text box, but because her abilities sync with ninjas.
Decks are built upon synergies, and players are the ones who turn those gears. The only "reason" that matters belongs to players who decide to make those decks.
So I am not sure if my math is correct, but I think if you have Brudiclad and Precursor Golem on the field, and you manage to copy the Golem once before Brudiclads ability resolves and once after (say with Cackling Counterpart and Fated Infatuation), you can attack with 216 (8*9*3) Precursor Golems.
Riku of Two Reflections - Copy, then copy again | Shattergang Brothers - Token Sac&Recur | Gahiji, Honored One - Multiple attack steps | Karametra, God of Harvests - Landfall, Creaturefall, Shroud | Ruhan of the Fomori - Stop hitting yourself | Zurgo Helmsmasher - Equipment&Wraths | Crosis, the Purger - Dragon Tribal Reanimator | Derevi, Empyrial Tactician - No stax, just tap and untap fun | Anafenza, the Foremost - Enduring Ideal Enchantress | Sharuum, the Hegemon - Sphinx Tribal Control | Noyan Dar - Spellslinger | The Mimeoplasm - Counterpalooza

I think it's important to note that it's "Whenever a player casts an instant or sorcery..", so it's not like the newly created Golems also get targeted when generated, which I think you're suggesting?

Ah yes but eleves synergize with token quite well
Vela decks that run ninjas are very low end decks. i fell for the same ploy when i built vela. Ninja tribal does not work. (Not in EDH anyway)
Myr do not synergize well with this general in a great way. Yes there is indeed token generation, but not enough for it to be worthwhile. Many other options that doe the job better.

Beginning of combat the Myr with make 9 Precursor Golems.
Second Fated Infatuation you'll get an extra 9 Precursor Golems "enter the battlefield", and those will be creating an additional 18 Golems.
So imo there is only 18 Precursor Golems + 18 golems = 36 golems.
But that's still 108 worth of power, so semantics
Again, I may be wrong, but I think all 9 Precursor Golem tokens see the Fated Infatuation being cast and thus trigger. Hence, it gets copied 8 times per Golem ("copy it for each other Golem it could target"). Since all 9 Golems are on the battlefield when you cast the Fated Infatuation during the beginning of combat step, they do not need to trigger on the copies. They only need to trigger on the original spell being cast. My original calculation was wrong though. If I am not mistaken it goes like this (at least that's what we ended up agreeing on in the Rumor Mill thread):
1) I cast Cackling Counterpart and have 8 tokens (two Precursors and 6 tokens).
2) Enter combat, Brudiclad triggers, creating a myr and turning the myr plus all the tokens into Precursors. I now have 9 Precursor Golem.
3) I recast Cackling Counterpart (or Fated Infatuation), targeting a Precursor. Each Precursor Golem triggers, putting a copy of the spell on the stack for each other Golem. That is: the original spell, plus 8 copies (for the Golem that I targeted), plus 8*8 copies (for all the clones that trigger). This gives a total of 73 new Precursors after resolution of the copies.
4) Finally, I get two Golems per new Precursor. That gives us 146 Golem tokens, 73 Precursor Golems, and the original 9 Precursors.
5) Attack with 228 3/3 haste Golems.

Helm of the Host on Brudiclad gets you an exponentially increasing number of Brudiclads each combat.
Helm on a creature that can tap for red goes infinite with Brudiclad and Aggravated Assault with the addition of 2 mana (3 if the mana dork has summoning sickness). Options include:
Don't know why I didn't think of it earlier, but we also have access to The Locust God as something of a sub-commander. Given how irritating it can be to get rid of it normally, how we're in Izzet colors and like drawing cards, and it pumps out tokens regularly. I think I'd almost prefer it in the 99 rather than the Command Zone.
Helm of the Host on Brudiclad gets you an exponentially increasing number of Brudiclads each combat.
Huh, so...
First Combat: Stack triggers - make Helm Brud first, then have myr spawn and change all tokens to nonlegend Brud. 3 Brud on board.
Second Combat: Helm First, then the 3 existing Brud spawn and change tokens to nonlegend Brud. 7 Brud now exist.
And this is without any other tokens being in play, and these tokens give themselves haste? Sign me up for the jank one card combo with my Commander.

I asked on the rules forum and so far the number seems to be 4096 lol. So I guess it's safe to say..a lot..more than enough.
LOL, I actually had this thought yesterday - that all the new copies actually see all the clones created by the last resolution. But I discussed it with a Judge friend of mine and he convinced me I was wrong.
Anyways. Over 4000 Golems. That should do the trick.

OK, a "Rules Guru" now says it's 892,930 Golems, and I'm not even kidding.

A 2-mana 2/1 with Haste that only produces tokens if the Commander is out. I'm a bit lukewarm on it. Or maybe it's a flaw with my thinking. Since Brudiclad is 6cmc, I figured he was more of a "play him when you need him" Commander. i.e. either to start a combo, to transform an army of tokens, or perhaps just if you don't have a better play. Having to wait until my 6mana 4/4 is out for the card to do what I want it for doesn't sound too promising to me.
So far, the most interesting legend of the set. I appreciate WotC continue to make legends that aren't cliche or a niche, allowing Brudiclad to go many directions including, but not limited by, stereotypical Ravnica "guild pie".

Brudiclad has the versatility of several deck styles:
1) Creature based - Could be a myr tribal.
2) Spell based - Emphasis on control and create tokens via spell like Call the Skybreaker, make clue tokens to draw cards, etc.
3) Combo based - Uses tokens to win without combat, like using Mechanized Production, Hellkite Tyrant, or Darksteel Reactor + Throne of Geth
4) A mix of above
Rule question: How will Warstorm Surge react to Brudiclad's myr, since it enters the battlefield but will transform within the same trigger, will WS damage be 2, or will it be however much the myr becomes?

The idea is to clone really powerful creatures. It must be noted that ETB creatures are not really the best, as the tokens are already in play.

I think it's important to note that it's "Whenever a player casts an instant or sorcery..", so it's not like the newly created Golems also get targeted when generated, which I think you're suggesting?
First Cackling Counterpart will have 8 Golems in total.

Ah yes but eleves synergize with token quite well
Vela decks that run ninjas are very low end decks. i fell for the same ploy when i built vela. Ninja tribal does not work. (Not in EDH anyway)
Myr do not synergize well with this general in a great way. Yes there is indeed token generation, but not enough for it to be worthwhile. Many other options that doe the job better.
Oh and Kiki-Jiki, mirror breaker makes tokens. o if you run him you should also run Zealous conscripts (or even pestermite) as a secondary win con.
Unfortunately, a transformed Kiki token will sill be sacced.

Helm on a creature that can tap for red goes infinite with Brudiclad and Aggravated Assault with the addition of 2 mana (3 if the mana dork has summoning sickness). Options include:
Two Score, Minus Two or: A Stargate Tail
