So everyone has been doing the basically same build with Yuriko. I am not really far off, but I am also very fond of Tribal. So Given that one of my favorite tribes in magic (Even if tehy are under represented) has been given a proper general, i wnat to go tribal.
Now i know there are only 11 legal ninjas including Yuriko in EDH so obviously it is not enough of a tribe. Now I could include the 8 legal changelings for dimir. Not the best result but i think 5 of them could be worth while.
And of course I still need to keep the strength of Yuriko in there. So i do have split and aftermath cards. I also run 1 or 2 mana unblockable creature to get Yuriko out early. And i also have Arcane Adaptation, Xenograft and Conspiracy. All of which make my unblockables ninjas.
Maybe i have the basic formula down and I am overthinking it, but I would like help turning Yurko into a tribal deck while not straying to far from the usual build.
(Oh and I played my first games with her tonight and went 3-0, SO i know my current deck works, would just like to be different. Then again, when you get a good shot of 5 ninjas, and have mana open for both a Mystical Tutor into Insidious dreams putting 4 eldrazi on top... you are doing 45 damage.
The big issue is that she is dimer UBand not esperUWB.
I found putting suspend and morph cards with about ten ublockable cards gives reliable synergy to the deck. Phthisiscurse of the cabalDeep-sea KrakenDread
I have found the key issues to be with the lack of ninja's and the fact the the ninja deck requires a lot of mana.
It is fun but you are forced to be aggressive in control colors and the lack of ninja's combine with the huge gamble of the top card mana cost being 10 mana Curse of the Cabal or 1 mana Slither Blade really hurts. Plus your opponents see every card you draw. Higure, the Still Wind is a key card making your ninja's unblock-able and putting them in your hand. Don't forget his ability.
The other issue is most of your creatures are small and the later the game goes the hard the swing back.
You also have trouble with artifacts and enchantments so Hurkyl's Recall is a nice card to out their but it dose cost two so top decking it is not fun.
I think we need more ninja's and spells with high cmc but low alternative casting costs. It is also hard to have a good bored state when you keep bouncing your creatures to hand for other low power creatures.

To address your second point, you can mitigate some of the pain of bouncing your creatures back by abusing ones that have utility. Either an etb, ltb, or cheap creature that has a relevant ability. There are plenty of cantripy creatures with evasion that you wanna be bouncing. They are also cheap. Even if you are just bouncing a 1 mana unblockable, considering the cheaper cost of ninjutsu you are still getting value.
Personally I am against running high cmc spells because they are expensive. I don’t wanna load up my deck with spells I’ll mever cast just on the offchance or flipping them. There are definitely some delve/split cards that are really good. I am really partial to the amonkhet ones.
It’s not the end of the world to flip a 2,3,5 mana cost card. That is damage going to everyone still. The real advantage is in the late game when you start doing it with multiple ninjas that things get good anyway.
