Seems pretty damn good for just 5 mana. Instant speed bounce removal at 1U, 2B for an edict effect which isn't a bad price either. Combined at 3UB it's quite devastating as often people have 2-3 creatures. Bounce their obvious first choice to sac then force them to choose from the rest.
Even more over, it doesn't have to be against the same opponent for each side!
A very solid uncommon. I love cards with versatility, and this is basically two cards in one that have a kicker cost to cast the other side as well (which is how I would've described such a concept before the term "Fuse" existed).
It probably wouldn't make the cut for every U/B/x deck ever, but it's certainly good enough for the majority of decks that are looking for a sacrifice and/or bounce option.
It's okay, but both halves individually are beat by far better cards, unsummon and diabolic edict. For 5 mana you actually do a lot better, such as evacuation.
Good, if you don't have access to any of those cards, and certainty a pretty cool trick to throw at an opponent.

Solid in 1v1.
Solid in Grixis control or U/B control.
In blue/black/x you have acess to much better removal, but it's instant speed so it makes the cut sometimes.
Good U/B removal is Boomerang, Snap, Into the Roil, Cruel Edict, Chainer's Edict, Ghastly Demise, Diabolic Edict, Pongify, New Pongify from Dragon's Maze, Dismember.
You have many options before you should be plying Far//Away, but if you are low on slots, go for it. It doesn't eat up two deck slots, so I could why you might consider it.

Oh I fully agree. I'm not maindecking it in any of my decks and probably won't. It does seem very solid but like you said there are better options. It's strength is rooted in that it makes untargetable creatures potentially more removeable than just an edict, but in that event, a 5CMC board clear or even Extinction is better.
bighaben, you're missing the point:
Because Unsummon can't edict a creature and Cruel Edict can't bounce a creature. And both can't do both (or just handle two creatures) simultaneously.
The card in question can.
Plus, Evacuation hits your own stuff as well...
I get the point.
You need to look at both halves of the card individually, this isn't just a kicker variant, because you can, in fact, cast each side individually. In this light, both sides are really not good. They are a lot better combined, and that is where your point comes in. It's a fine card, it's just not great. Bacon summed it up much better than I did.
I would not be upset playing this card, but there are numerous better options around, and 2 cards in 1 is what carries the card.

Particularly Into the Roil and Repulse I would nearly always play over this card. If you have any kind of removal density, the card is probably worth more than the option of either kicker, particularly given the lower cost. I would also consider running Exclude or even Soul Manipulation in the creature removal slot of a lot of UB decks. The fact that the bounce only hits creatures puts this card in a very narrow category where a ton of stuff is outcompeting it. Not to mention the stuff at 5cc you'd rather play.
I like it, it's another 2 mana edict that I can put on a scepter. (imprint Far, cast Away when activating the scepter). Unfortunately you cannot fuse them this way due to the fact that in order to fuse it must be cast from your hand.
This could be put on the stick, though I usually just put Geth's Verdict on the stick if I want removal and Into the Roil if I want a bounce. (Bounce a permanent and draw a card for 3U every turn? Yes please.) However, this allows for both (albeit a creature, which means I can bounce a manland, but not a noncreature artifact, noncreature enchantment, or non-Gideon planeswalker).

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
For those saying Unsummon and Edict together are better: keep in mind that if you do that you're losing 2 cards as opposed to 1 card at the price of two more mana. I love Far//Away, great value, great card.
Personally, I love the card, but I have a soft spot for versatility. Usually it just saves on of my guys from removal while picking off a random enemy creature, but sometimes it's just straight up Plague Wind.
It seems like tech against Avacyn decks. Bounce and sac are two primary ways of getting rid of Indestructibles and the last thing you want to do against Avacyn is have them sac...not Avacyn? I like the card(/s) but I don't think its always good. It seems like a meta call to me, especially in a meta full of indestructible, hexproof, or low creature counts.

I am currently running this in my Wrexial, the Risen Deep EDH deck. I have tried taking it out a couple of times, but it just keeps proving its worth.
AND, you don't necessarily have to target the same opponent when you cast both halves of the card. In fact, I have used the "Bounce" side to return one of my clones to my hand so I can reset it.
Great card.

because I heard that zealous persecution was overpowered and was a big player in that standard. So when they remade a similar card, they played it safe by making it bad.
It's very versatile; if someone tries to exile, control, or otherwise harm your creature, you can always save it and punish them with Away. You can also loop it with Archaeomancer or Eternal Witness.
Really, Far is only a little worse than most other bounce, and Away is only a little worse than most other edicts, but not so much worse as to be particularly noticeable. If you get to do both via Fuse, it's probably better than either.
