Very nice project! I may have to replicate it myself...
I especially like the hinged knocker on it, I wouldn't go too gung-ho with the Magic/Mana symbols though, I like the clean elegant look. Very beautiful.
Be careful about using trademarked symbols on things you're selling.
I'm not sure it works that way. TM infringement would be if I was selling a product like it was made by WotC.
I'm not too worried about it. It's a box, not counterfeit cards.
I would attempt to get licensed though. I read that WotC doesn't really respond to anything like that though.
It's sweet, but I imagine lugging 5+ of them around would be rather cumbersome. And it sounds like they'd be a bit more expensive than the Ultrapro 100-sleeved-card leather boxes that they make, which are my current go-tos.

I wouldn't. I built nine EDH decks (disassembling at least three others along the way) before deciding that would never be enough. Now, I'm progressing through a master plan:
1) Create an EDH Cube, for drafting EDH decks from (complete, and it's awesome)
2) Comb through every possible general, dividing them into "interesting" and "terrible" and analyzing each "interesting" general (complete, working it into a color and general selection guide that I will be posting to the forums soon)
3) Create a Cockatrice decklist for each "interesting" general. (In progress)
4) Get every card in #3's decklists that isn't in the cube, and sleeve them in the same sleeves as the cube, allowing me to throw those decks together on the fly (in progress)
Once steps 3 and 4 are complete, I will have probably somewhere around 100 different decks at my disposal, ready to be played at any time with just a few minutes notice. Just yesterday, I threw together Patron of the Moon.

It looks like a drawer, which makes me wonder: could you make a frame to hold them in like a dresser? It wouldn't be very portable, but it would certainly look nice if you play with your friends at home a lot.

Or just a place in-house to set it and add to the decor.
So I have to ask, how much would these cost if you did start selling them? I like the idea of this because I usually only have one EDH deck at a time and it would fun to have something like that holding a deck.

if I make them the way I'd like, probably around $100. That would mean dovetail joints, glass commander display window, branding iron to burn mana symbols and logo into the top, stain and laquor, quarter rounded edges, and some other nice touches.
but I might make a quicky version like this one for half that price or less. If I took preorders, it might reduce the cost too because It would be faster to do lots at a time.
Just FYI, there are wood boxes at your local Walmart that fit 4 sleeved Decks and have 2 picture frame slots on top that are perfect for cards to display generals. I made my box using it. Will take pics and post when I can.
The boxes come as plain wood. All the decoration was done by me including the cloth interior for around 40$ total.
Edit: trying to post pics from my phone now. Sorry if the quality/size are sub-optimal.
Because conservative bias is a far, far worse thing. Liberal bias doesn't, statistically speaking, make people stupid. Conservative bias (or at least Fox's version of it) does.
Nice work; can't wait to see the finished project. A box like this would be sweet, but the clunkyness of it makes me feel a bit eh about it. It seem really impractical / un-portable, especially in multiples. I would love one that held 2-3 decks, however; that would be cool. Then I could just bring the 1 box when it was time to play some EDH.

I really don't think it's clunky or bulky at all. I'm not really sure why people seem to think so. it's about as big as a fat pack (maybe smaller even).
it's about the same size as my hand. my hand is a little wider than it, but the length of my hand is dead on with the length of the box:
On topic: I think it looks pretty sweet. I am no craftsman, but I do appreciate fine woodwork. While your at it you could make wooden sleeves and cards.
Better Idea you could make wooden dice. I would definitely buy those.

you might also wanna try and make one yourself, but a cardboard box is fine with me.
