Kresh the Bloodbraided was a explosive voltron general. The color was good but sometime this color need a lot of mana so you need to ramp a lot. Having good creature, controlling spell some evasive ability for Kresh. It's can be un fun voltron deck. IMO I prefer Thraximundar it's the same type of deck but with Thraximundar you have acces to blue but lose green. But he can kill someone the turn he come into play if you set a good table.
Mayael the Anima was a beatdown general. You play good stuff and sneak it into play with Mayael the Anima but I don't really like her. The deck lose all his power if Mayael is tuck and it's become really hard to cast all you big fatty. For the color, Naya was fine but didn't have a lot of draw...
Savra, Queen of the Golgari is really funny to play but you need to many thing on the field. The color of Savra was really nice, it's my to favorite color on EDH. Green give you tutor for creature + good creature and ramp. Black give you reanimate tools, nice draw, hard creature to stop coming back to the battlefield and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth+Cabal Coffers. You need token or creature with ability to get out of your grave and come back to the field like Reassembling Skeleton and you need something to sacrifice them. It's can be a nice general to play but you need really good stuff to become present on the game. If you have a lot of tutor on black and green you can play Savra, Queen of the Golgari but if you didn't, you will need it on your deck.
I'll speak from experience with Mayael the Anima: sadly, she isn't all that exciting. You never really change up what you do, it's always "ramp, play Mayael, next turn start cheating in fatties." It gets old really quickly, and you have very few ways to recover if Mayael gets tucked.
Savra, Queen of the Golgari is one of the better generals out there (in my opinion), and one of the three queens of Ravinica's underworld. She is her own Gravepact, and really controls the board single-handedly. I think she gives you more flexibility, and allows for a greater amount of options. I heartily recommend her, though I've never tried her myself.
Kresh the Bloodbraided is a powerhouse if done correctly. You get to abuse similar things to Savra, but instead of making your opponents discard, you just get a silly-huge fatty. Make SURE you protect him though, otherwise the deck can't do much. If you can abuse those sacrifice triggers, and keep your general safe, you'll have a tank on the field, and a pretty successful backup plan. He's also highly recommended.
I'm going to cast my vote for Savra, mostly because of the type of deck to which she lends herself. Constantly sacrificing and recurring Bloodghast, Nether Traitor, and other recursive dudes for massive, non-infinite profit is quite fun. A Kresh deck can do the same thing, but Kresh himself is just a big dumb quasi-vanilla beater; Savra lets you skimp a bit on removal and devote more of your deck to going nuts.
The only one I would advise against is Mayael the Anima, pretty much for the same reasons Icebear stated. Ramp, play arbitrary fattie, swing when you have played enough fatties. It's okay if you enjoy that sort of thing, but I like building some synergistic doomsday machine out of the different cogs the other decks provide you each game.
I'd go for Savra she is quite a fun general that if built right puts a nice lock on the board, and like previously stated assembling that is really fun. i personally go with recurable creatures like Nether TraitorBloodghast and Nim Devoureralthough i also run Mayael, but yeah its just big beasty stomp, no real secret tech or anything.
I personally find kresh a bit overrated and have never lost to a kresh deck, i just feel that yeah, he gets big but thats it no trample or evasion meaning i always find a way to get rid of him before he hits me, but hey, if you like smackin the opponent with a wiffle bat.....

Even though it's been done to death by Sheldon, as mentioned, I can't go past Kresh. Any abilities that interact with creatures dying are amongst my faves and are oh-so-juicy in flavour (didn't THAT sound wrong! haha).
For explosive wins, Mayael takes the cake... dunno what this business is about her being slow above me... consistently bad draws for the player of the deck maybe? Otherwise she's NOT slow by any means...
I would recommend Mayael as the most consistent. If you play a straightforward deck with loads of fatties, then you are almost guaranteed a hit each time. I have no idea how she is considered slow, since she gives you advantage the very next turn, while Kresh and Savra take time to gain a reasonable advantage.
Kresh is kinda dumb because all he does is get big, with very little utility (+1/+1 counters ----> move around maybe idk) compared to another fatty such as Omnath
Savra is SUPER fun, and I used to play her, but I found 2 main problems with her:
A.) She does nothing by herself. You NEED a sac outlet AND a BLACK recursion creature/token producer = Easily disrupted. Compare this with another Ravnica general such as Teysa, Orzhov Scion
B.) If you do get the engine working, it still takes FOREVER to set up a board lock, because most of the time, your opponents aren't about to sacrifice their Darksteel Colossus first

If loosing Mayael leaves you dead in the water, you've probably built your deck wrong. While Mayael is a great, readily available way to cheat fat into play, she by no means is the best or only way to do it. The hideaway lands, Quicksilver Amulet and Lurking Predators all are amazing. Then there's Tooth and Nail, and that card just wins games. I've been running a Mayael deck for a while and I've learned that it can just win out of nowhere, but that's partially because I'm not afraid to seal the deal with mass land destruction.

Point number one is very valid, and there isn't a lot you can do to fight disruption other than running Buried Ruin to recur your sac Altars.
Point two however, is why I'm running Damnation and Life's Finale. Wipe things clean with a wrath, then keep them clean with Savra.
in EDH, about 60% of the time, it's not the general you choose, it's the cards in your deck. I think building around Mayael gives you the most fun options for your pool. We've got a deck builiding sub-theme around here called "BSN" - big sh**ty Naya - and it's really great. The rule is - 1 removal spell (usually swords to plowshares) - no mass removal, and all big fat threats and enablers. Sneak Attack, Through the Breach, Dramatic Entrance, Quicksilver, Dragon Arch, Tooth and Nail- that helps your fatties cheat into play when Mayael is out for the count - and then some utility creatures that help you fetch lands, etc. The deck usually wins - due to sheer number of threats. You never ever need to Wrath because your threats, pound for pound, are always better than an opponents - and when they do wrath, you still have juice left in your hand, or the ability to rebuild.
I like to run Divining Top/Mirri's Guile/Sylvan Library combined with Killer Instinct, Lurking Predators and Impromptu Raid. It's chaotic but fun to put a Symbiotic Wurm or some big dumb creature into play for free.
Kresh: Big dumb removal, eats people for playing creature heavy. Can kill a lot of weaker decks. Dump wraths in, watch Kresh grow. It's like a Chia pets, only the grass is now blood. Honestly, it's maybe the easiest and cheapest money wise. Just slap a few good wipes, some good sac outlets, let the deck run.
Mayael: Even dumber beats, but kinda hard to build(at least for me). The problem is, having Mayael usually means at least 20-27 big beats, and you need to have half of them actually do stuff but beating. I almost want to say that it's the slowest of the three to set up, but the end product is very consistent. The cheating part requires a lot of work around, just because you'll usually hit a lot of lands as well. Hard to build into a finely tuned deck, but it'll work even when it isn't. When it is built just the way you like it, it's probably the only way you'll play the deck.
Savra: SOOO much saccing. Edicts, decrees, annihilators, boom, boom, boom. There's no way they would have creatures. You've got a lot of sac outlets? Then go to town with this bad girl. This is maybe the deck that can go the longest, what with dredges, shuffling effects, and all that jazz to help you. I like Savra, even as a person that doesn't play a lot of black, and easily the most creature hating. However, you'll need to run a million sac outlets, a million 2 for 1 creatures, and token making isn't bad either. Fun deck, kinda casual, but can be highly efficient at killing people.
Mayael>Savra>Kresh is my personal choice.
Savra>Mayael>Kresh is me trying to be objective.

Turn 6 to use her ability, that's slow in my group & that'll get you killed.
Also she's the most predictable, tap her sideways drop a fattie. lather, rinse, repeat. Slow + predictable = you die.

If playing Mayael early is your best option, you should be able to activate her before turn six. If the deck is running the best ramp available, then a turn four activation should be fairly easy to pull off.

In theory yes, but in reality she'll die so fast if you get to do her ability once then you should be greatful.
Unless you're playing with a bunch of morons. No one in their right mind will let her do her ability.
Drop fatties at eot? Na I'm cool I'll just kill her and she can die die go to hell.
Mayo is cool, out of the three she's the most subpar.
I duuno, having Mayael usually means that you don't drop Mayael soon. If you do, you'll be playing with luck most of the time, and that means it can bite you back in the ass.
And you really think Kresh herp derp creatures and wraths is more boring than Mayaels herp derp creatures and cheats? They seem very similar.

Kresh dosen't need 6 mana to do his cool ability, that frees it up to play kill spells or other useful things. Jund has more kill options than Naya. If you weren't talking to me than the comment never took place.
In theory yes, but in reality she'll die so fast if you get to do her ability once then you should be greatful.
You could say the exact same thing about Kresh. No one in there right mind should let him linger long enough to be lethal. A good Mayael build shouldn't roll over and die if she gets destroyed or tucked. One advantage that Mayael has over the other two is she doesn't need other cards to work. Savra does nothing by herself and Kresh relies on your ability to reliably kill stuff. I'll never say Mayael is top tier, but a well tuned build should be able to hold it's own anywhere but a hardcore, competitive table. I think the same can be said of the other two as well.

I can agree with that. My first general was Mayo and my play group is cutthroat, so yeah not a good deck to start out in.
Welcome to EDH Mayo now die.
Oh no, I said that to you, thatguy. I'm directing my attention to you.
A) Kresh cost 5, needs to be on the field to benefit, and has literally no evasion. His ability isn't gonna help make you be able to do anything with anyone but himself, and is a greedy build around me general.
If you want to say that it's better because of the wraths, isn't white the color of wraths? That's the only color difference, black and white, and I can just say that white has better overall removal, while black has mostly pinpoint creatures and hand removal. It's kinda the same, but different.
Also, I'll take any indestructible creature to block you.
"Oh, kresh. Look, darksteel colossus. Watch me tank the hit over and over again." I know you could just as easily fling Kresh, but that's not my point.
B) Mayael could be using a few cards that mimic her ability, and it helps you the most. Things like Omen machine, gates to the aether, killer instincts, impromptu raid are small versions of Mayael. The reason that this is useful is it shows that you can make a Mayael based deck, without needing to have Mayael forever. It helps in keeping Mayael away from danger for a good while.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think your points are invalid, I'm just stating my grounds to put Kresh on the bottom of the three.
In your opinion, which is the most fun, and why?
