Do you hate this situation when you are getting ganked buy 2 people at one?
Like during the prerelease,I think was playing with a couple and some dude, the 2 dude(one use kaalia and the other use karador)just keep attacking me because they think I have a better board position(well all I have is Debtor's Knell,Creakwood Liege,Qasali Pridemage,Chameleon Colossus equipped with Sword FaI)one guy Mortifys my knell and the other guy attrition my liege and pridemage.
Well at the end I still managed to win,no one have an answer for a huge Chameleon Colossus,I run a creature heavy deck and those precon decks doesn't have any wrath effect's....
Yeah I think this is the only reason I dislike EDH,what you guys think.

I feel ya, I played a 3 person game with the deck linked in my sig, the 2 other guys were friends and basically just hated me off the table and played 1v1 ... why did you invite me to play then? lol
I find it odd that you associate that as an EDH thing, it happens to me all the time in regular play.
And yeah, as another poster said, you're liege can't be targeted by Attrition.
You can't just expect to play bombs and believe that your opponents will sit back idle as they get far behind. I've been taught this the hard way and it sounds like you have too.

It's hard to say for sure without knowing their board position, but if you won through both of them targeting you it sounds more like good threat assessment than them teaming up on you for no apparent reason. Letting Sword of Fire and Ice and Debtors' Knell run free sounds like a good way to lose a game.
I don't like being ganged up on for no apparent reason, but if I'm doing something obnoxious, clearly have the best board position, just drew 30 cards, or something else along those lines it's almost offensive if I'm being ignored. I generally go after the biggest threat at the table and I hope my opponents will do the same.

Raikou Rider and I were actually talking about this same thing on Skype last night. It does suck when you're in a 3-man and the other two people decide to take you out even when you actually aren't doing anything truly threatening. The 4th player in a 4-man can help to prevent two players from teaming up and easily taking out whoever became the odd man out.
I can relate to the OP its like playing my friend and his GF... if I attack his GF, she turn on me and he hates me out and vice versa... I might as well be playing archenemy... LOL

Yeah, this is why I really really prefer 4 player games. That said, If you they are playing precons and you are not. I think it is fair. As you power level was clearly higher. Also you said you won. So sounds like good threat assessment.

Yeah I really hate playing couples for this reason, they are always a team because the guy is too scared to attack her. Lucky for me (or maybe not) my wife always feel the need to go after me first. So when we play games we don't cause this kinda problem.

I know the feeling exactly! This happens a lot with my friend and his wife. They aren't -always- a team, but usually the only time they aren't is when she decides to kill him, he never ever strikes the first blow.

In your case, I'd actually suggest you do play Archenemy with them. Don't fight their natural tendency to team up...let them do it with gusto!
You think 2v1 is bad? I've had a game go to 4v1 before. Admittedly all four of the other players at the table were having mana issues and I had a commanding lead from very early in the game, but I did take on a 5-player table as enemy number one from turn one and won.

It's a natural part of multiplayer. People want to point their answer and pressure cards at someone, and that someone is usually the person with the best board. Even if that board seems pretty insignificant to you, it's still going to draw hate if it's the best one out there.
I feel ya, I played a 3 person game with the deck linked in my sig, the 2 other guys were friends and basically just hated me off the table and played 1v1 ... why did you invite me to play then? lol
No offense, but your general is skittles. That's bound to happen
But it is still annoying. Especially if the power levels of all the decks are the same and they just decide to attack you.
My play group works out pretty nice now. Before, it was pretty much 3 of us who always played. Me, who attacked the most threatening person at all times. Friend A, who tried to take me out first no matter what was going on pretty much. And Friend B, who sat back and built board until one of us died and then easily took us out. That was pretty annoying to say the least.
But now we have more players, and we lost the kid who always came at me just because it was me. There's a player who just does things to make the games more interactive. He almost never wins, but he does make the games more interesting. Then we have two new-ish players who do pretty well. And Friend B. lol It's a nice balance of how the games go now. 3 way games are almost never any fun.
this happens all the time when one player does an explosive play (ramps up big time in one turn) or drops a bomb waiting to be used the next turn (say a door to nothingness) or locks the table out with some static effect (iona). whoever has superior board position is considered as the immediate threat; and that's pretty much a normal part of the game.
This is why I prefer 4 man games or 5 man games. Aside from that, your description makes it sound like you WERE the major threat and them ganging up on you is fairly reasonable and well assessed. I still do dislike it when it happens to me but sometimes its deserving.
Wait, they gang up on your and you still win? Doesn't that mean they made the correct decision? I don't understand this.
Is your argument that they should just avert their eyes and pretend you aren't stomping them?
"Hey everyone, the people I play with have great awareness and are able to correctly identify threats. Don't you hate smart players?"
This is exactly how I felt when I read his post. Now, people ganging up on you for no reason, or when there is a more threatening player is really frustrating, but that doesn't sound like what the OP was talking about. Ganging up is what makes multiplayer so great, because it allows for the table to balance out broken plays or combos. It also allows people who have much more tuned (in most cases expensive as well) decks to be more balance out by group pressure. I just feel like it makes the game more fair, overall.

EDH: Xenagos, God of Revels.
Also, given that you had all that, I think attempting to control you when you were the Threat is perfectly reasonable.
Edit: Especially if they're playing precons, it's kind of obvious that your deck was at a much higher power level.
