If WotC were to produce a FTV set for EDH players that consisted entirely of Legendary Creatures, what would the 15 most powerful and flavourful EDH generals be?
This idea is entirely hypothetical of course, I'm not trying to present evidence that this will happen... I just thought it'd be interesting to see which creatures the MTGS EDH community consider to be the best choices for such a set.
So, what are your thoughts?

well the first five are obvious but I don't think it is possible to do as everyone has their own beliefs on top generals.
If they're obvious, what are they?
The ones I would guess would have to go in are things like Azami, Uril, Sisay, Sharuum...there are probably heaps more obvious ones that I've completely overlooked. Clique is a bit boring to make the cut, I'd think.
I'd agree with Azami and Sisay. Despite being degenerate up the wazoo, Azami is very flavourful, as she depicts two things that blue is renowned for: wizards and card drawing.
I think Omnath, Locus of Mana would be a great legend for mono-green, being a big fatty-boom-boom and mana ramping all in one.
But to be honest, that would be a bit of a cop-out. I mean, Wizards doesn't even acknowledge that EDH stands for Elder Dragon Highlander (in the comp. rules, it is always just EDH). And they all kind of suck. Bolas wouldn't be terrible, except that he already got printed in Dragons.
Bear in mind none of the FTV sets are the most powerful collection of xyz (surely theres better banned and restricted cards than kird ape that are legal to be printed). In that regard I would expect 1 elder dragon legend, then go with key characters from as many blocks as possible so card like Lin Sivvi, Toshiro Umezawa, Akroma or Phage, Kamahl, Commander Greven il-vec, Volrath the Fallen, someone from the weathlight, Teferi, Agrus Kos or Teysa, Oona, someone from Coldsnap, an obscure legend from legends, and some filler depending on what color is lacking the most

Every rarity gets good cards. That means that some mythic rares will be tournament quality as will some commons, some uncommons and some rares. My promise wasn't that mythic rares wouldn't get good cards but that we wouldn't limit the good cards to only being mythic rare.
Bear this in mind the next time a powerful mythic rare is spoiled
Thanks to chaostheory90 for finding this quiz for me
I'd rather just have a set of 15-30 brand new legends....
oh wizards..
This would be so sweet. Maybe as silver bordered to be able to design freely without messing up standard. Prob won't happen, but would be sweet to get an infusion of cool, build-around-me generals.
I'm pretty sure we would see:
1. Captain Sisay
2. Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary
3. Zur, the Enchanter
4. one of the Rav guys (probably Savra because Niv was printed in Dragons)
5. Squee, Goblin Nabob in old art (hopefully)
6. Doran the Siege Tower
7. Pheldagrif
8. Chromium
9. Rafiq of the Many
10. Memnarch
11. Toshiro Umezawa
12. Serra's Sanctum, Gaea's Cradle, or Tolarian Academy
13. Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre
14. Akroma Angel of Wrath
15. Plant from the next set.
Gaea's Cradle would be an amazing thing to put it, never thought of Edh staple cards. Not to sure if Memnarch would be, might confuses people about having him as a general.
From the Vault: Legends contains fifteen battle-tested Legendary creatures, selected from throughout the history of Magic: The Gathering. Each card is important to Elder Dragon Highlander due to its popularity, or it's importance to the legacy of the format.
Contents:
* 15 Premium foil cards, including 8 with new art
* An exclusive spindown life counter
* Each card has been printed using a foil process unique to the “From the Vault” series.
* The 15 cards are all printed in the current card frame – for several, it is for the first time.
* All cards are black-bordered and tournament legal. This means that these cards are legal for use in any tournaments where the original printings are still legal.
Well i already have a Xiahou Dun, The One Eyed, but i'd definitely want one of him, As well as some of the other P3K Legends. As for choosing the other 14. I'd probably just pick one for each color first and then move onto multicolor.
Emmara is like the worst parts of Legends and Homelands got pregnant, aborted the fetus, tossed it in the trashcan, set it on fire and wrapped the corpse in a Dragon's Maze pack wrapper.
I think itd be cool to see the 5 elder dragons, the cycle of dragons with rith, and the 5 planar caos dragons...That would be edh. As for best 15 generals id go in no particular order: clique, arcum, sharuum, sissay, karn, sliver overlord/queen, kresh, zur, johria, rafiq, uril, erayo, azami, red akroma, drana/the new dragon. Those would prolly be the best and most popular and offer a wide variety of playstyles. O and if banned generals are allowed then obviously reffelos and braids...prolly over drana and kresh.
Is this FTV: EDH or Legends??? The suggestions so far certainly point to the former.

We need to look at legendary cards that are relevant to the format of EDH. The topic noted that they should also be generals, ruling out other legendary permanent staples.
I must disagree with a few of the choices presented in the posts above mine simply because cards like Gerrard Capashen, Sol'Kanar the Swamp King, or any cycle of legenadries would not be included. From the Vaults does not print cycles. It prints 15 cards that are important, flavorful, and powerful to the theme. With the theme so clearly defined in the first post, I don't see how people are missing the target.
Sidenote: people should not include cards that have already been reprinted in FTV. Karn, Nicol Bolas and Niv mizzet won't be printed in another FTV set.

All of them would need new art of course ;D
I never really liked the art.
Oh, Hanna, Ship's Navigator too - although me and a friend spent an hour or two making a really nice proxy.
EDH:
RNorin the WaryR <-Link! (Primer - Mono Red Control)
GUEdric, Spymaster of TrestUG <- Link! (Mini-Primer - Dredge)
Duel Commander:
WUGeist of Saint TraftUW <- Link! (Aggro-Control)
BGSkullbriar, the Walking GraveGB <- Link! (Aggro)
BUGDamia, Sage of StoneGUB <- Link! (Extinction Control)
Church of the Wary
How could one compile an FTV: Legends without true standouts of the game such as Dakkon Blackblade and Sol'Kanar the Swamp King???? Ihsan's Shade would be another great one and so would Baron Sengir. Tetsuo Umezawa would also be spot on.
Others could include Gerrard Capashen, Sharuum the Hegemon, Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir, and other such iconic characters.
To be fair, this is largely from a favour perspective.
Sharuum the Hegemon
Mayael the Anima
Wort, Boggart Auntie
Sliver Overlord
Drana Kalastria Bloodchief
99 mountain Ashling
that card style is just stupid
I also think the art for Oriss is amazing

Xiahou Dun, The One Eyed and Zur the Enchanter seem like good choices to me.
Another thing to consider is that FTV sets include as many as 9 new arts...
So which generals do you think are most deserving of new art?
It would have been a good set to throw our new Mindslaver in, too, but oh well.
Glissa, the Traitor, Ulasht, the Hate Seed, The Mimeoplasm
