Hi everyone I wanted to post this in the card ruling area but it was locked. Anyways I'm still pretty new to magic and I had a quick question regarding Mossfire Valley. It says pay one colorless then tap to receive a mountain and forest mana. Now my question is do we have to choose between a Mountain or Forest to add to our mana pool once per turn? Or do we get to add both a Mountain and a Forest to our mana pool once per turn?

When asking ruling questions, please use card tags:
In this case, whenever you activate Mossfire Valley's ability, you get a red and green mana. You can do this whenever you have priority and during any player's turn. Since you tap it, you are usually only going to be able to activate the ability once per turn cycle. When it comes back to your turn, it will untap and you can tap it again to get red and green mana.
Keep in mind that the cost is "1 generic mana" and "tap this card". You don't have to spend colorless mana to activate it. You can spend 1 red mana to get 1 red and 1 green, or you can spend 1 blue to get the red and green mana from this land. I wanted to clarify the distinction between "colorless" mana and "generic" mana, especially with colorless mana costs getting its own symbol in the next set.
Also, from a terminology standpoint, mana is referred to by its color (or colorless for no color). So a mountain will produce red mana for example. You do not add a mountain to your mana pool. You add red. Hopefully this makes sense.
Also, hopefully a mod sees this so it can be moved to the appropriate part of the forum.
