Hello, My friend has one of the best Mono-red casual decks out there in my opinion with only one flaw. He has a one drop that when ever it's dealt damage, it deals that much damage to it's controller. I recommended that he replaces it with Rakdos Cackler. He's already running 4 Vexing Devil. The deck also has Lightning BoltIncinerateBrowbeat and Ball lightning and I think he is running Thunderclap. What are some of the best one drops of all time?
. I really like Vexing Devil! It's guaranteed fun casting him! But I believe that Goblin Lackey, and Goblin Guide are on the topy top's of Red 1 Drop's, and of course, each doing their work in the right decks.
. Like Lackey doing some extremely boost in a second turn if connected in a Goblin Deck. Goblin guide is a must 4-of in a Burn Deck.
. So It's really depends on the strategy of the deck, sometimes a common 1 drop may be really lethal in the right decks.
Goblin guide is fantastic in anything aggressive. Grim lavamancer is phenomenal if you are doing a little to build around it. Goblin guide is better if you are just jamming it in, but lavamancer has more potential. After those two comes figure of destiny, who's also amazing, but he's just a touch shy of the other two. After that you have several odd choices that are more contextual: stromkirk noble is a good over all card, he gets big fast, and his evasion ability is more relevant than it might initially seem. Kiln fiend is great in a more burn focused build. furnace scamp is a winner if you are focused on speed above all else. Signal pest, while not red, goes great in creature focused decks. Goblin lackey is probably the actual best one drop, but given that it's banned in legacy people might look askance at it. Finally vault skirge, also not technically red, is a very interesting and useful include if you know your meta very well and can find the hole for it to fill. Note that all of these are better than rakdos cackler, some of them only contextually, but guide and noble are almost 100% better in any context.
As far as masochistic creatures go, they aren't as bad as you seem to think in 1v1 games, so long as they are in sufficiently aggressive deck. Jackal pup is showing his age, but he's still not bad (though worse than cackler). Firedrinker satyr is way better than you think, and can be considered better than cackler, because the "bad firebreathing" is very relevant. Infact I wrote a near article length post on his quality here, it's focused on standard, but the points are still relevant. Trust me, dealing damage to you is almost not a disadvantage for as little as it matters.

Probably want Shard Volley instead of Thunderclap
I've always been a fan of Bloodfire Dwarf tho, clears the weenie creatures off the board

Cool thanks.
I don't think that compliments his deck, but those are awesome cards.
Thanks, I will bring this to his attention!
