The basic idea is to have LMC turn things into artifacts then have hoard smelter dragon eat them. Landshaper, gorilla shaman, and splinter disrupts lands. I was debating on taking the heretics out for prototype portals to produce more LMCs.
I was wondering if there any other cards that would turn creatures into artifacts to speed artifact destruction since I was hoping to use shattering spree.
I tend to play in a multiplayer setting though my play group sometimes duels. I made this deck with a budget in mind so chase rares are out of the question. Any suggestion is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I dunno about you, but I'd prefer the cantrip artifact destruction over splinter, unless you wanna do mass land removal (i.e. search their deck for all cards named Forest and exile them). Your playgroup may not be entirely happy with that idea though.

Which card is the cantrip destruction your talking about? I don't think i can pull of splinter every game as there's a blue counter deck. So after the first round, I doubt it's going to happen again. Probably sideboard it every now and then to keep it interesting. Thanks for the input though.
Agreed with Chaos, splintering basic lands is incredibly lame and will get you hated out of a group very fast.
I just want to splinter one of our friends who thinks he's such a godly player. I know it's cheap but using it against our top player at least once is worth it to me. I think we only beat that guy when we gang up but I understand where you guys are coming from. With great power comes great responsibility right?
So from everyone's feedback I've decided to sideboard splinter for our friend. I also added the viashino heretic and magnetic mine to the SB give space for Aladdin and Scarwood Bandits
Not sure about keeping tanglewalker since I'm stealing creatures for the win now. Was thinking of adding hoarding dragon to help dig for a LMC. This does shift the mana curve a bit so I mite substitute 2 shattering spree for growth spasm or a cultivate to help mana ramp. Thanks for the help and feedback again.
It's not as cheap as splinter but it has the same effect. The deck is now revolving around dross scorpion in which march of the machines and either myr landshaper or liquimetal coating causes lands to become 0/0 artifact creatures which repeats. If march of the machines isn't on the board, playing gorilla shaman can have the same effect but is limited to mana. Heretic and Transmuter deal with creatures until hoardsmelter can take over. Ichor, fabricate, halimar depths, and sensei's dig for the right pieces. It becomes a lot more consistent with UR for me compared to RG.
I wanted another thing similar to Dross Scorpion but I can only think of voltaic key . Problem is that its limited to mana. Also, I was debating if steel hellkite would be a better bomb that hoard smelting. Any ideas on how to improve this deck? (Without sensei's, this deck is budget friendly) Thank you in advance to everyone at mtgsalvation. I wouldn't be the player I am (no matter how much of a noob I am) without you all.
Heh. It has a tough time winning if a bunch of weenies come up. I was wondering if there was such a thing as an artifact that can destroy other artifacts cheaply. I was thinking of prototype portaling something so I can have a repeatable artifact removal until hoardsmelter can hit the table. Isochron Scepter is too pricey for me.
One of my favorite combos with Prototype Portal is Contagion Engine. That or the cheaper Clasp, which might be better.
You can remove any creatures, and with March of Machines and Coating in play, anything at all.
Overall, I like this deck. You might want to consider the new Creeping Corrosion that came out of MBS, but that could seriously mess you up if you don't use it wisely!

The contagion claspprototype portal seems like a good way to further control the board. Creeping corrosion is an interesting card but as of right now, it seems like I will run UR which means shatterstorm would be a better card. Again, it can mess me up badly as well.
*EDIT*
I have played tested this deck against an average infect deck, mono blue permission, black discard, eldrazi and white weenie decks. The big problem is that I have come along is when every single piece required for this combo to work is countered. SImilarly, the eldrazi tokens continued to help the eldrazi deck easily. Black discard wasn't a very fun deck to play against. All in all the cards all work together pretty well. The ponders are useful from play testing and works better than the ichor wellsprings. I also increased the amount of land as I was having mana problems. I may consider going back to the original idea for color opting for green vs blue.
You always want to get a Liquimetal Coating, so you should consider putting in Ancient Stirrings to help you find them.
I see you added some Fabricates, a Sensei's Divining Top, and Halimar Depths, so maybe just keep a couple in mind if you have issues finding them.
Since it is multiplayer, you will probably need to find more than one in a game when the first gets destroyed.
As long as one dross scorpion, liquimetal coating, and march of the machines is out, you can destroy everyone's land. It isn't required to have more than one as you can combo infinitely.
I was trying to make a 'Turn your opponent into an artifact destruction' deck and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for it.

Scarwood Bandits
Each of these can steal a permanent while it's an artifact, then continuing controlling it once it's not an artifact.
Metallic Mastery
Steal any permanent you want for a turn.
BUT if you want to humble a guy that's a good way to do it
