So I'm still struggling to figure out how this whole rock deck works. I want it to be casual with the potential to be later modified for a legacy format when I get some more cash. Right now I have the legacy land base; Bayou, Scrubland and Savannah. I have 3 of each, thank god, lol.
I have constructed some cards that I plan to put into the deck, but would like some feedback on whether these cards really "fit" the deck type. Here's what I got so far:
I figure I could use Knight of the Reliquary because with all the fetch lands, this could be rather sweet.
Dauntless Escort just seems pretty useful in general and with Grim Discovery I find could serve some purpose as well.
Please offer any comments or advice. I would greatly appreciate it. I'm trying to think of a win con, but I'm not too familiar with Rock. Thanks.

From what I've seen of Rock, the classic finishers are Spiritmonger and Tombstalker. You might also consider Duress to get rid of potential bomb cards before they can be played. I usually prefer Loxodon Hierarch over Dauntless Escort because he's a huge beater and gains you 4 life. Kitchen Finks deserves consideration as well. If you're going to use a white splash, I would strongly suggest Doran, the Siege Tower. A 5/5 for GWB is insane. Eternal Witness is just a great card to have in this type of deck. If you use Doran, Treefolk Harbinger and Forbidding Watchtower can get huge. Lastly, if your going to play Legacy, you need to have Tarmogoyf. It's very likely the best creature of all time.

All of those have given a new perspective on the deck type, thank you so much. I'm working on a rough draft and will post it when it is complete. thanks alot man!

Etc. You will notice I put efficient before everything as rock is all about the most efficient GB cards. It's a pretty expensive deck.
But since you are here in casual, we can have a little fun with the list. You can attempt to replicate the function of cards with budget alternatives.
Only got 1 or two Deeds? Add some cheaper tutors.
Sweepers? Mutilate, Damnation, Infest...
Try other black finishers.... maybe that silly 6/5 intimidating demon, or Liliana Vess's ulitmate.
A few Pulses? Try some Putrefy to fill out.
Need a big two drop to go with 'Goyfs? Maybe Wild Mongel with Basking Rootwallas can be big... Putrid Leech does make a nice two drop indeed. Eternal Witness is awesome to bring back your $ stuff if you only have a few.
Etc.
As far as removal, Vindicate is ideal, but the cost is ridiculous, so Mortify and Putrefy are much better budget options.
I agree, but doesn't the fact that Mortify and Putrefy both being instants make them for serious consideration above and beyond the fact of simply dollars to purchase Vindicate?
I mean, I really like Vindicate, but the fact that it's a sorcery is a significant drawback in my mind, when compared to the other two. Of course, those other 2 have their limitations as well, but we can't have everything, can we?

My typical MP format is 5 total players, star-format. FFA, but you only need to eliminate your 2 non-adjacent opponents to win.
I didn't even think about the fact that Vindicate was a sorcery. You definetly want some instant speed removal. I would probably play 4 Putrefy, and 4 Vindicate if you have the money, otherwise use Mortify.
So after some consideration, I decided to keep it G/B for now. Here is a basic structure, it is still missing quite a bit of cards, but any input would be great. Am I off to a decent start?
This list so far leaves 17 slots open to make a 60 card deck. Any thoughts? I'm trying to keep white out, I don't know if that changes anything, but it's what I'm going for rght now. I'll add white perhaps after some playtesting, or do you guys think that W is extremely crucial in rock?

Rock is fine without white. The classic version with Spiritmonger and Pernicious Deed didn't have white at all. The core of Rock is GB, the white is just extra. As for the cards, you should definetly be running Putrefy. You might not need 4 Tombstalkers, and you should definetly use Eternal Witness, which is excellent in this type of deck. It looks pretty good though. You might try searching the forums for other Rock threads to find more ideas.
I'm thinking that splashing W might help me fill out the rest of the deck, but I also fear that it may make me have to redo the deck completely. I would like some thoughts.
I like the idea of Creakwood Liege because not only does it keep pumping out 3/3 worms, but it helps every other creature I play some extra "oomph". Any thoughts on these 2 decks?
Also, much thanks to everyone that has responded you all have been extremely helpful!
EDIT: I eventually plan on getting 4 Tarmogoyf when I get the money, but for now I think this list is decent. Thanks for your thoughts!
I vote for the straight GB, but I would remove Vampire Nighthawk for some card draw in the form of Harmonize or maybe Sign In Blood. You might also think about Doom Blade or Duress for some extra removal or discard. Usually Rock wants to be a little less aggro than your list and a little more controlish, which means more removal and disruption. For the most part, it looks pretty good.
I'm thinking about buying a playset of Overgrown Tomb in place of Llanowar Wastes. Think it's worth it?
Nah, the number of times you're gonna need the Llanowar for colored mana are small. only in the first few turns more than likely. Probably you'll lose 2-3 life from using it, which is about the same as the Tomb coming in untapped.
I've been thinking about a Rock deck, and have 3 of the 4 Spiritmongers I need, but I've also been thinking about this deck for multiplayer, where cards like Vulturous Zombie, and Lord of Extinction (backed by Seedling Charm, or Overrun) could be quite powerful.

I actually thought about making a Jund Rock deck with the onslaught fetches with the ravnica duals. Not sure how all of that will play out but Bloodbraid elf into a eternal witness or pernicious deed seems cool. I should probably give that a try at some point.
As for the decklists, I find them all rather solid and fun to play.
I hate to bring back an old thread, but after some playtesting with proxies, I was thinking of replacing Thoughtseize with Chainer's Edict or Diabolic Edict. Mainly because of my budget at the moment. Bad idea? Good idea?

Putrid Leech - I hear he's a great card for rock

Cards I'm considering but would like opinions on:

Here's my G/B/W Rock Version:
4x Marsh Flats

4x Vampire Nighthawk
4x Tidehollow Sculler
