I opened Nissa in a draft and thought it would make a good commander for a budget deck for some newer players that joined our group a couple years ago. The first draft was an unsleeved random collection of green stuff i had kicking around. People in my group really quite liked the deck so i kept swapping out the junk for good cards and now its pretty decent. She could be fairly competitive if you ran a mana denial package and some tooth and nail fueled finish but that is too far for my group.

Early Game

The goal is to flip Nissa by turn 4 or 5 so you need to make sure your opening hand has some kind of ramp spell in it. Ranger's PathBurgeoning, Myriad Landscape and other such goodies are what you are looking for. Usually first flip is creating the 4/4 then you just tick Nissa up for the rest of the game. Don't worry if they take out Nissa before you flip as she is pretty easy to recast and flip 2nd or 3rd times.
