Quick Info

Two things that I want to get out of the way right now: This deck does NOT run Blightsteel Colossus nor Food Chain.

This is the current iteraton of my very first commander deck. When I saw the possibility of infect with Mage Slayer and knew I also wanted to kill creatures, I knew I would be playing Jund.

The first iteration had Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper at the helm, but my manabase was atrocious and I ended up getting the Prossh precon. I quickly found Prossh works amazingly well with an infect deck.

The great thing about this deck is that it is rather straight forward for a newer player but not so simple as to have the same three cards out every time it wins.

Early Game

" target="blank">Commander Tower to " target="blank">Sol Ring...hopes every EDH player ever!

Infect creatures essentially cripple opponent's creatures, so dropping a " target="blank">Glister Elf or a " target="blank">Plague Myr is a good idea. " target="blank">Wasteland Viper is good as an early game attack deterrent or a surprise kill tacked on to kill someone's Serra Ascendant.

There are a lot of lands in this deck that support multiple colors as well as " target="blank">Prismatic Omen, Sword of the Animist, and Mana Bloom to help with mana acceleration. Mana Bloom is a very undervalued enchantment. Even if X is just 1, it can help make up for a missed land drop and it can also help during multiple turns, on other people's turns, and can be recast.

Mid Game

By now there are probably some creatures out. First/Double Striking infect creatures are nightmares for your opponents during combat. Fires of Yavimaya and Xenagos, God of Revels will give your creatures haste for that extra surprise.

Late Game

Mage Slayer (plays best with " target="blank">Phyrexian Swarmlord) was already mentioned as an obvious win condition. Triumph of the Hordes, Berserk, and Xenegos, God of Revels takes no imagination to realize they can be finishers, especially if used in tandem.

Flesh-Eater Imp has so many wins on it's belt, that it probably ate, because it's belt was made out of flesh. The Imp works beautifully with Prossh generating all those Kolbolds and since it has flying it can turn a disadvantaged board state into a K.O.

Thanks to the buffs in the deck, even Prossh can swing for the kill with Commander damage (or otherwise, see below).

Karn's Bastion as far as initial testing has shown can and has successfully finished off infected opponents, even when they were running Glacial Chasm shenanigans.

General

It might sound odd saying this, but Tainted Strike is the best card in the deck. First off attacking with Prossh, sacrificing the six Kolbolds, then TSing for 12 infect is an obvious use. It can also be used defensively to negate a creature's attack for 8 or less (assuming you are the only infect player). Lastly, you can do this to other people's creatures to either turn the tides of battle or surprise an opponent with an infect KO from out of the blue.

I would like to address the elephant in the room about the price of some of the cards. Some of these cards I got as gifts or from trades. Others I grabbed back during a time no one thought these cards were good (pre-commander hype). Many of these I got simply from being handed the right packs to open from store clerks. Regardless I never recommend net-decking 100% from just one deck, as some cards might be out of your price range or even useless to you with your meta. I NEED Unravel the Aether in my deck because of my playgroup running so many indestructible permanents in their 99. Most normal people would rather run Naturalize, Krosan Grip, or the new Return to Nature. Search up other similar decks on this site from different users, or try EDHREC or mtgGoldfish to see what would work best for you and your meta.

I've still not tested Galvanic Punch nor Domri's Ambush just yet and will upgrade this decklist as needed.

I used to run Ogre Menial in the deck, the red mana was just never there to make it work.

As with all my decks, your comments are welcome!
