Quick Info
Hey all, so this is my first self constructed deck. Im a big fan of the vampire\werewolf tribes, however i found it difficult to make a compepetive werewolf deck for the modern format which is my favorite to play. Ao I went with vampires, and I tried to make it as budget friendly as possible while still staying competitive too. If anyone has any suggestions to improve it while sticking with the vampire theme and not breaking the bank either, feel free to share! I realize bloodghast would be a great addition, and I plan on adding it in the future along with possible some kalastria highborns. But for now, this is the budget friendly list.
Early Game
Early game you have 8 1 drops, vampire Lacerator being you early game hitter, a 2\2 for 1, your vampiric version of the goblin guide! The only downside is the 1 tick on your life every upkeep until your opponent is at 10 or less life himself, but this is miniscule. Then you also have your indulgent aristocrat which is a 1\1 lifelink for 1. Just a cheap chipper. Your goal is to over run your opponent and beat them down with your vampire mobs which get progressively stronger.
Mid Game
At this point in the game, your should have the mana to kill your opponents threats and planeswalkers with terminate or Dreadbore and kick your gatekeeper of malakir to save your kill cards for later if they have only one baddie on the field or just a single blocker in general if your dominating in numbers.
Late Game
Late game can be rough if facing certain decks, this deck needs to kill asap, however a single vampire Nocturnus can\will win the game for you a good majority of the time if you have multiple vampires out and it goes unanswered for a turn or two as it gives them all evasion and a nice buff on top of the buffs from your other vampire lords.
General
All in all, i like this deck, and hope it helps other budget players out! Thanks guys!
