@SorryGuy: Lazy day? I envy you. (See my last post.)
It's raining here in New York and it must be at least 55 degrees (F) outside. It's mad stupid weather for a supposed winter. Apparently the city hasn't gone this long without snow since 1878.
So today I had to go over to a lab to get some blood drawn because my psychiatrist wanted me to. It wasn't painful; in fact, taking the bandage off hurt more because it pulled at my arm hairs. Afterwards, I had breakfast and told my dad my plans for today (work search-related). So he said, "Good." But then he said: "Expand your horizons, you're better than that." I just rolled my eyes. I'm not just interested in journalism, I also like children. So I called and emailed the lady who told me to schedule an interview about a camp job. I'm planning on having an interview Friday. I thought I would have it Tuesday, but my mom needs to sleep during the day due to work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (she works nights). Right now I'm looking for phone numbers of child care places to work for the summer, but I'm taking a break from that.

Yep, the weather sucks, though it was rediculously nice outside on Saturday. Where in New York are you, btw? I assume the city, but i am just curious.
I'm currently working on cover letters for internships myself, which is a FRUSTRATING AS HELL process. Especially with my parents driving me insane.
24 hours, and then i can be sane again in north carolina.

I love Joboman, Poggy, Niv, and Vezok, because, while they may not be the best players, they still try to win. Having fun is the most important thing to a game, but I've learned that if you don't try to win, then you're ruining everyone else's fun.
@American Nightmare: Good to see you're here, I forgot you were a member of this clan.
@loran: Yep, I'm in the city right now, but tomorrow I go back to West Orange to get ready for the Devils game that I'm going to on Wednesday.
And speaking of parents driving one up the wall, I'm almost at the breaking point with my dad, and after dinner I just might be at that point. Here's the story: at 1:00 today I found a job opportunity on Craig's List. Naturally I do my damnedest to get ready for this interview, which happened at 4:00. I borrowed my dad's clothes: a turtleneck, corduroy pants, and loafers with shoelaces. I got there and after an hour and a half of learning about the job (a knife salesman), I find out I got the job. Good, right? Well, when I get home (I called my mom previously and told her the news, which she sounded very excited over), I tell both of them about the job. My dad said in his usual tone of voice, said "Good, go look for more just in case." I could tell he had an "I don't give a ****" tone in his voice, or maybe I'm just paranoid. My point is that he never seems to be satisfied with me. Have I pissed him off so early in the vacation by slacking off on job opportunities that nothing I do affects him positively? My parents and I are going to talk about what I'm going to do for Friday, since that's my potential first day for training as well as an interview for a camp, two conflicting things. If Dad gives me the same guff that he's been doing over the past couple of days over dinner in spite of my effort to turn things around, I just might go ape****.
@ Wombat: Sounds like it's just his pride talking. Don't take it personally. He just had an operation, right? Sounds like he's annoyed that he can't do much since he's still recovering.

Never thought of that, maybe it is. But he was just as much of a hardass with job searching before the surgery, so I doubt that. And also I talked to my parents about the job, and they think it's a scam because it takes advantage of friends and family so that the company can sell knives. Maybe it is a scam, but so long as I'm off my ass during the summer with a job that doesn't involve shanking people on the street, why should they give a damn? The only good thing this does is that it opens up my interview for Friday for a summer camp, which I hope to holy hell goes well because if I don't get that, I'm probably up **** creek for jobs (except for the knife sales, which they'd probably let me do if I've got nothing else).
Edit: Someone in the Coffeehouse told me that the company I interviewed for (Vector Marketing) indeed runs a scam operation. Check out Wikipedia if you don't believe me. Maybe I shouldn't have gotten so angry....

Excellent sig. We came to that conclusion five minutes ago.
Also, please check my thread in the "Special Occasions" forum (the one that I used to announce my dad's surgery), because I don't feel like retyping what I wrote there. Needless to say it's not heartwarming news.
You're still posting more per thread than some of our members.
Actually, I think I'm one of those members.
Yeah, I've probbably missed several threads. you might want to add me to the members who are gone list, since I visit about once every 2 months.
Good luck with your dad, Wombat.
Also, from what I have heard, that knife company is a bad deal for you. Essentially, they make their profit from selling knives to you, and they don't care if you can sell them. You have to buy the knives from them to sell.
Today was a good day. First off, I only got 2 hours of sleep last night, then was almost late for my first class. Half of my first class (biology) was spent with the prof trying to figure out how the computer system in the classroom worked (she'd never taught in that room before) and the rest was an overview of what the class would be covering. Then I had a couple hours to kill; should have been an hour and a half, but class ran short as it was just an introduction. Found some friends, hung out, chatted, and eventually made my way over to my next class, English. I've heard good things about the prof, and so far, he rocks. He started by handing around a Barry Manilow MusicandPassion glowstick he got in Vegas over Christmas break. He then proceeded to quickly talk about the course and tell a bunch of stories about past students, with lots of swearing involved. It was awesome. Then I hung out with friends again, caught a bus to the mall, and ran into a friend from high school; I cast him as Satan in the play I directed. Then a couple hours ago I un****ed up my internet, which has been a bit dodgy the last few days.

So should we just submit our votes as The Called and Greek Alliance? We don't have time for more input, sadly, and we need to vote to be qualified.
In other news, I got back from the Devils game against St. Louis about 20 minutes ago. It was a losing affair for New Jersey, 3-2. The Devils played OK, and Brodeur made some great saves, but they crumbled in the second period, where they scored a goal 19 seconds in and failed to do anything else for the rest of the period except let the Blues score twice. The third period they played a little better, but they couldn't score. This brings my all-time Devils attendance record to 1-2-1-1 (wins-losses-ties-OT losses). Also I'm going to interview with a camp tomorrow for a counselor position for the summer, so I hope that goes well.
And I'd say sorry bout your devils game experience, but well.....you know. That said, i hope your personal life gets better Wombat.

I'm not sure why I thought of this, (probably because I'm supposed to be doing work for class but instead I've decided to coast around MTGS), but I was at the Red Wings @ Wild game a couple months ago. Hasek got his stick broken up in the middle of a play. He then picked up the shaft part of the stick and used it as if it were his complete stick. Now isn't it illegal for a player to use a partial stick since it has the possibility of injury. He didn't get a penalty but the Ref did jaw at him a little bit when he went to grab the other piece of it.

@Jobie: Yes, I believe that's a penalty... it's called "holding the stick" or something like that. Hasek wouldn't have been in the box for the penalty anyway, though.
@loran: Well, there was something both of us would find funny at the game: there were several cries of "Rangers suck." During the Chicken Dance song, at the part where you're supposed to clap your hands, people said "The Rangers suck" in tune with the song. When that happened, I looked at my cousin (a Rangers fan) and laughed. Also there was a kid sitting behind the Devils bench who not only wore a Martin Brodeur jersey but also a goalie mask and pads. When they showed him on the scoreboard he poured a big bag of Cracker Jacks onto his goalie mask. Good times.
Today I had a camp counselor interview, which I think went well. I'm not sure when I'll be hearing back from them. Again, I'm at home by myself, since my mom left for the city after the interview.

Great minds think alike, I guess. Still that's not as brutal as the old, now obsolete "1940!!!" chants that were tossed at the Rangers by Isles fans up until they finally won another Cup in 1994.
This is my 2000th post (yay!) and I thought I's use it to make a post in the clan thread.
Nothing new for me, I guess. School has started again, but we don't really have any classes until next week. So I'm just doing nothing this week. Very relaxing.
I guess I didn't explain what happened, his stick broke and he used one of the remaining shards to help block shots. And I know he wouldn't go to the box, they'd just send some random person off the bench to serve for him.

@Moss: Ewwww... I hate going to the dentist more than I hate going to any other kind of doctor. I went early in my vacation for my twice-a-year checkup and they prodded me with sharp stuff, and lucky me, I got drilled... twice (you couldn't feel it as much because the drill shot water, but it was still a pain in the ass). Meanwhile my best friend in college got her wisdom teeth removed, and all but one came out fine.
Tomorrow I'm going to the city one last time before I head off to college on Sunday. I ought to be packing up now, but I tend to procrastinate into the late hours when it comes to that stuff.

I'm still not finished. I still need another filling and another root canal. After that, I need three teeth removed.
Remember, folks: See your dentist regularly. Don't put it off for too long like I did.

Most exciting thing I've done today is figure out how to fit Boston Lettuce into my tightly packed produce case.
I'm going to change that by testing for Extended Q's and wetting myself over Black Wrath [Damnation] and Green Ball Lightning [Groundbreaker].
Meh...I'm just glad I'm still a part of this clan/site. I think I've been here maybe twice in the last month.
