Sic transit gloria mundi. Many of you are somewhat familiar with this, as it this phrase is used in the passing of Popes. And so, today, banned is Mortal Wombat (:(), as narrated by dear Spanglegluppet, in an RBS thread.
Mortal Wombat has been banned. He has not learned from previous suspensions and warnings. His continuous inflammatory and antisocial behaviour crosses the line and is both in poor taste and breeches the forum etiquette we at MTGSalvation hold dear.
A sad moment, indeed.
And when MW is hung-over tomorrow, or whenever he realizes his banning banned, this will shock him, I suppose.
Also, being MW, this impacts many active thread in the Opinions section of this site.
@Faerie Lord: You have all reason to answer in that tone, my dear Johnathon; MW is now banned. I never quite saw that coming.
Also, I don't really know whether Shakespeare is actually an ancestor of mine; I doubt it though, for I am not the slightest bit Ænglish.
I've decided to investigate the phenomenon of the Coffeehouse, and perhaps stay a while, who can say?
As regards my weekend, I've accomplished very little, though I had quite a bit of english homework to do. It's overdue, and, if I don't hand it in, I won't get my mark bump to line me up with the regular program students(I'm in the IB), so it's kind of important.
As far as Joseph[...]Dreamcoat, I'm not a big fan of Andrew Lloyd Webber. I'm more of a Stephen Sondheim person.
Wow. MW is banned. That's.... well... well, that's something, alright. I suppose the moral of the story is don't drink and post? Or, perhaps moreso, don't go into Debate if you can't keep your cool?
I have to work 16 hours of overtime this week. It makes me cranky, too, as I'm not really all that motivated by the extra money considering the past 20 times I've done overtime, they've slashed my wages and made it seem not worth it. Last time, I swore I wouldn't do it anymore, but apparently I am lacking a backbone. It doesn't help that the word "no" doesn't mean anything to my supervisor, either. If I had told her I couldn't do it, she would have just slapped it on my schedule anyway, and made me do it. I say this with all civility and objectivity: I hate that *****.

Personally, seeing Mortal Wombat go isn't a suprise at all. What do you expect to happen when you constantly troll, and flame members of the forum, despite being warned by the Mods?
I'm sorry, but I think Salvation is better without him.
I'm sorry, but I think Salvation is better without him.
Of course you do.
I just think it's a shame that it came to this. I don't know if he just felt that he would be excused for his outbursts for whatever reason, or if he just didn't realize what a thin line he was walking, but it's just sort of a shame that he let his temper ruin it for him.

I went over the threads in the Opinions & Polls subforum and discovered Mortal Wombat is banned. A sad day for the Coffeehouse if I may say I knew he could be ill-tempered at times, but I find a ban to be a little too harsh. Goodbye, MW
Back from the weekend by the way, what have you been up to?
Good moring everyone. Like Sene I found out about MW's banning in the Opinions & Polls section. I think a ban might've been a bit much, he did go over the top but still, bannings are hardcore, maybe just a 6 month suspension would've worked, but not my call.
@ACT's I got a 33 on mine and take my SAT's in about a month.
@Everyone: Why do we enjoy watching people crash and burn rather than succeed?
Seriously, I could go on and on about the qualities of his character that I hated, but I'd much rather not bring that much negativity into the house. But, I stand by what I said before, Salvation's now a better place.
And what you guys are failing to realise is that he had two suspensions back-to-back, and then followed it up with another troll warning. He was asking for a ban
As far as Joseph[...]Dreamcoat, I'm not a big fan of Andrew Lloyd Webber. I'm more of a Stephen Sondheim person.
Hey Tuatha, good to see you again.
As for my own tastes, I'm not too big a fan of ALW (for the sake of simplicity), but I love The Phantom of the Opera. Reason? Yes, I do have many, but sleep beckons, yet again.
@Shadowfox: Not too bad thanks, but I am still apprehensive about going back to Uni, after eight (or so) weeks of sabbatical; also, I managed to 'piss off' (verbatim words, of course, hence the usage of quotation marks) many fellows, so that exacerbates my trepidation. Meh, I guess this means I have more reason to sense dysthymia.
Good thanks, in short.:) Enjoy your weeks, Shadowfox. Enjoy your weeks, others, too!

Hard to say actually, but I am sure that there's been a thread in the 'Mod Cave', as it is known, for a while, discussing this exact matter.
I'd just like to think Mortal Wombat, or rather David, as the bright and breezy guy who'd get vehement, in addition to mere passionate, about anything he'd put his mind to.

You seem bitter, apple of my eye.
Notwithstanding his doings, he is still a good member; surely this is something you could agree on.
That said, I did think that Mortal Wombat was skating on thin ice after his initial banning - or at least, the first one in recent times that I can remember.:( Ignore list? I make some to no use of it.
And what you guys are failing to realise is that he had two suspensions back-to-back, and then followed it up with another troll warning. He was asking for a ban
Except for that no one is failing to realize that at ALL. I think it's pretty clear why he was banned, especially considering sneakyhomunculus spelled it out very clearly. Regardless of how you feel about him, though, people are going to be a little shocked to see someone they regularly interact with banned from the site.
Edit: Now it's snowing. Hard.
He had a time that he was on my ignore list.
Oh my God, me too! Hello, reason we're friends!
@Everyone: Why do we enjoy watching people crash and burn rather than succeed?
I was responding more to the comments of, "a ban might of been to harsh." It wasn't, he was warned, and didn't change.
@Jen, Yeah, I am a bit bitter. The man really insulted me and some of my friends on here on several occassions. And the only time he showed any remorse is when the house pounced on his comments. I don't like the guy. He's always come across as an aristocratic bigot, and I am not the least bit sad to see him go. In fact, I am happy he's gone.
Anyways, ill be back later. I really need to test that 8-bit grand theft auto
Ill post some previews from my next set aswell
just not now...im eager to play that 8-bit goodness
Faerie Lord, when Photon Eater extends his friendship, you have to take it, or else you'll be able to tell everyone how freshly ground coffee feels! :):):):)
I was responding more to the comments of, "a ban might of been to harsh." It wasn't, he was warned, and didn't change.
Oh, totally. Anyone else getting suspended and warned that much would have been out the door, so it's only fair.
As any who has seen our various arguments could tell you, I'm no member of the MW fan club, either, but I still feel bad that it got to this point for him. He enjoyed his time on here, had friends, and contributed to various clans and threads. It's just a shame that his temper got the best of him on so many occasions.
I really don't know MW at all, so I don't feel qualified to voice an opinion on the matter.
And therefore, I sha'n't.
I saw him in O&P on the random occasions I decide to drop in there, but that was the end of it.
EDIT: Oh, and, Photon Eater, it's Patti LuPone. With an I. She's a frightening woman, and she may find you and kill you if you get it wrong.
Quick, quick, quick...
@Photon: It's sneakyhomunculus in bold, blue, italicized text!
Are you German, too, heh?
@Yukora: Oh, I see now, fair enough. He just hasn't stirred my ire yet, I guess; alternatively, one could argue that I am unknowing of this.
@Tuatha: It's "shan't".
Well, so he can't post, ... but he can still view. I wonder what I should feel about that.
Anyway, too lazy to check what I'm typing, and stuff...
So, good night/evening/afternoon/day, all!
@Tuatha: I'm not too concerned. I had an anti-diva barrier installed after last summer when Whitney Houston kept flying into the picture window in my living room.
@Magic Mage: I'm half-German, actually. I don't actually speak German, nor do I have any real strong ties to my heritage, though.

I know it's shan't. I like putting in two apostrophes, because it makes more sense that way, due to the double abbreviation, and it's not my fault if the English language, which makes little sense at the best of times(through, bough, rough) disagrees with me.
@ Photon Eater: Ah, well that solves that problem. I should get one of those.
Hmm, it's a sad, sad, day for the Coffeehouse indeed. Whether or not you liked MW, he was a great contributer to the House, and most importantly, a Yankee fan, which makes him inherently good :p. Why couldn't he heed my warning that I gave to him right before he was banned?!?!?!? Why?!?!?!
Geez, I feel like I'm at a funural.
P.S. Wouldn't that be funny if MW ended up winning the FCC? It would be like his final mark of glory before leaving.
I never had a problem with MW personally... but finding out he's a Yankees Fan? That's just... just... well, let's just say I'm a loyal Indians fan.
Sweeney Todd is great - I love the scene in Jersey Girl where they do it for the school talent show. I'm also big on musicals, as I've had the pleasure of working as lightning director for my high school's productions way back in the day. Hello Dolly, Fiddler on the Roof, and How to Succees at Business Without Really Trying. I also did orchestra pit for Crazy For You. Good times.

@Dragonstar. I was part in two musicals (Hunchback of Notre Damn and Oliver Twist). In the first one i was the archdeacon while i was Mr Bromlow in Oliver Twist.
Yepp...thats the result of being too large for your age. They always give me some sort of old man. :/
I have to play The Wizard in Wizard of Oz because I'm the only one who "can't sing" in the group. And I was limited to Narrator in Into the Woods, friggin theater kids and their clique-ness. They just up and assign themselves the leads without even realizing that there may be better people for it, all becasue "they were born to act!" Sorry rant over.
I started reading Catch-22 the other day, what a good book it is.
Hoo-ee! I wake up to a rather interesting sight this morning.. Mortal Wombat is banned.
And I expect people to be divided on the issue, whether it's good he's gone, or not. But as Yukora has been saying (albeit with a bit of antagonism) is that he DID violate the forum rules which we ALL are under. He breaks the rules, he gets the punishment. Happened to me, happens to everyone. Mortal Wombat knew what he was getting into, even if it didn't occur to him when he made the posts that got him suspended twice and warned for trolling. That was his choice.
The Magic Coffeehouse will indeed miss his constant presence, but needless to say there is nothing more we can do. So, I ask you all to take a moment of silence, and let it be.
And off the record, I don't think Mortal Wombat contributed enough positively to the Coffeehouse--but I could be wrong.
Ninja Pirate: SHHH!!! Don't talk to Omna about that here!
Will Sweeney Todd be put up again with Johnny Depp and stuff like that? I saw it somewhere, but im not sure if it is just a rumour..
I heard a rumor like that as well, about 3 months back, didn't really think too much of it. Im going to see Evil Dead The Musical next week. I heard that it was hysterical and I hope that it is just half as funny as the movie.
