A couple of words about our current situation:
As you probably know, our last thread has ended... prematurely. Some of our clan members didn't care enough to post even when we had the notice of closure, and honestly, I can't blame them - we simply ran out of subjects to discuss and had no new blood at all. The closure served as a good eye-opener to us, and we've discussed many different options of making our experience in the thread more than "Speak your mind about the latest shows". And this is what we've decided on:
Once a week, every Monday, there will be a new topic posted for everyone to discuss. It might be the latest anime season, it might be a poll to decide on a movie for everyone to watch, it might be watching and discussing the said movie. Hell, it just might even be MtG-related!
Of course, the discussion should not be restricted to this topic: if anything, it's going to just give us something to talk about during the less active times. And if you want to discuss something else, by all means, do it!

Oh hey, this got off the ground. Cool. I was beginning to fear it wouldn't.
Also you have Lieutenant Commander above Captain, despite LTC being two ranks below CPT (I'm assuming the list is descending order of rank). At any rate, Rabishu-taichou reporting it.
PS, my name isn't actually Japanese even though it looks like it, just for the record. Not a huge thing, but it comes up from time to time.
PPS, for the curious, my avatar is from Chevalier d'Eon and you all should watch it because it's awesome.

I mostly copy-pasted the ranks from the last thread, so I don't mind changing them to be more accurate.
I must say that JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime is as amazing as the manga. If you're not following it yet, do it. And while you're at it, why not read the manga, too?
I've considered reading it a few times, but never got around to it. Once I get finished with my current read i'll take a look.
I'm not really sure why, but i've been reading a lot of Korean webcomics lately. Just yesterday I started one called Magician, it took me a little while to get over the different art style, but once I did, I was hooked.
I would like to say to the clan that I am mainly a manga reader, it's not very often that I watch much anime. So, sorry in advance if I don't know alot about recent animes.
Also, on an unrelated note: I started a new game on Dark Souls today, and in the span of an hour and 10 minutes managed to make it to Anor Londo and beat O&S. I'm not really too sure how good of an accomplishment that is, but considering the fact that i've only played through Dark Souls once before this, the fact that this game is considered to be really hard, and that O&S are thought to be the toughest boss fight in the game, I feel incredibly accomplished.
Hey congrats on your new clan thread. I am thinking about becoming a member for your clan but I am not entirely sure yet. I'll still check out this thread every so often or at least try to anyway. Thanks for the friendship though.
Sorry for arriving a little late to the party, but it's been a hectic weekend. Captain Kurthnaga reporting for duty. ;D I'm excited to get some discussion in here, as my circle of friends who watch anime is rather small. I am currently following 6 different seasonals, including Magi and SAO.
By the way as Bakemonogatari is probably my favorite anime, I'd appreciate it if my title could be That Excessive Dialogue Guy. Really looking forward to seeing where this thread goes.
What a hectic week. Glad to see we're back in business (dumb hurricane causing all sorts of problems).
This season's been quite solid, in all respects. I've been thoroughly enjoying Chuunibyou, Little Busters, Shinsekai Yori (From the New World), and Magi, among others.
As for the carry-overs, Space Brothers continues at its regular pace of "going to get there one day" and Sword Art Online continues the second arc with the most insufferable antagonist I've seen.
I don't think there's too much else on my mind, except waiting for any release on the P4A movies. I missed out on the Madoka ones, so I'll have to work that into my schedule at some point.
Also, on an unrelated note: I started a new game on Dark Souls today, and in the span of an hour and 10 minutes managed to make it to Anor Londo and beat O&S. That's... impressive. I remember my brother spending a good week trying to beat Anor Londo and Biggie Smalls for the first time.
New to this whole clan thing, but I'd love to give it a try. Can I join?
Sure, you're in. I wasn't sure about you after you answered my PM, so I didn't write you in right away just in case.
Anyways, this has been a busy day, but let's have our first weekly topic, shall we? Note that I will be writing them down in the first post in case it gets lost between the pages.
To break the ice with all the new members, tell us about yourself. Of course, you can tell as much or as little as you like.
It'd make sense for me to be the first, right? I'm Andrey, a Russian 21-year old anime, Magic and videogame enthusiast. Sometimes I think that I have too many hobbies for my own good, but I just can't drop any of them, even though I'm on my last year of college. At least I hope that it's going to give me an edge in my full-time job, which is most probably going to be videogame design.
As for my anime and manga tastes, you can check out my MAL here. My favorite genres are action and comedy, but I occasionally enjoy some others, too, especially if it's my friends who recommend them. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is my favorite franchise of all time, though Kaiji got very close to it around last year.
I also find it very difficult to ignore those who need help, which usually leads to my already busy schedule being full with other people's worries. Spending a day or two translating the latest BlazBlue news from Japanese is nothing out of the ordinary to me. Sometimes I make the connection between this and my favorite guild, the Simic: it's all about making the world around you better, after all.
I guess I'll give it a go. I'm Kyle, 19 years old, and I am working at clearing my backlog. Here is the list of Anime I've already watched. I love Anime with great dialogue and memorable characters. I also play League of Legends a lot, if anyone is interested in playing with me. And of course I love playing M:tG, particularly EDH & Limited. I do play Standard at the FNM level as well.
I'm also currently downloading SAO 18 to watch in HD. I love HD anime, and will refuse to even look at Raws so as not to spoil it for myself. I also read the Big 3, Soul Eater, Deadman Wonderland(When it gets off hiatus), and Ao No Exorcist.

That's... impressive. I remember my brother spending a good week trying to beat Anor Londo and Biggie Smalls for the first time.
Yeah, Snorlax and Pikachu are quite a pain to beat, first time I made it to Anor Londo I was stuck on them for an hour or so before I finally got their patterns down. They aren't too difficult now, though it did take me a few tries to beat them this time. I was struggling a little bit because I was using a Black Knight Halberd I couldn't wield with 1 hand. Fighting them without a shield isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world, especially when you're not wearing any armor.
To break the ice with all the new members, tell us about yourself. Of course, you can tell as much or as little as you like.
Hello everyone, my name is Pheon, i'm 21 years old and i'm addicted to manga. I've been reading manga for about 10 years or so.
I never actually cared enough to compile a list of all the manga/anime i've read. Anime shouldn't be too hard since I don't really watch too much, but manga is quite the problem for me. I started to make a list last night of everything i've read. I went to my preferred manga site and started looking through the list, I gave up after reaching 180(Actual number is probably around 230-250 or so). I'd add the list, but even if I use spoiler tags, it seems like a bit too much. Just assume i've read everything. My favorite mangas are:
One Piece(How can you not love One Piece?)
Tower of God(Technically a Korean Webcomic, but w/e)
Monster(So good)
20th/21st Century Boys(I love Naoki Urasawa)
Eyeshield 21(I hate football, but this was great.)
This list is subject to change on a whim.
I read pretty much anything and everything, so long as it's interesting. Same for anime, as long as it's interesting, i'll watch it(If I have time). That all being said, I have a list a mile long for what I should watch next. Even with that list, i'm still taking recommendations.
Also, I no longer play competitive Magic. I stopped playing constructed a couple years ago, and haven't played in any limited events in over a year. I still play casually though.
Id love to join the brigade haha . Problem is im already in a clan . Im not sure how the system works but I love anime too much to turn this down . If you guys accept me Il gladly leave the Izzet if its the only option
Animes Ive watched :
All 4 higurashi
Death note
Code Geass
(normal) Full metal alchemist
bleach
naturo (-_-)
lucky star
melancholy of haruhi
deadman wonderland
soul eater
vampire knight
mirai nikki
all dragonballs
(around 10 others which are not worth mentioning=
--Starting to watch:
Guren Lagann
edit: I also play league of legends ... trying to find a decent duo queue partner since someone always feeds my lane
Raymond, 22. Currently in a bit of job purgatory due to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, but that means more anime, right?!
Been around since the initial inception of the clan. Started probably eight or so years ago with the classic harem, Love Hina, and pretty much just went from there. I think my best memory/decision for me so far was when I was supposed to finish writing a term paper, and instead I grabbed the first season of Full Metal Panic! to watch for the first time ever. I finished it over the course of three days, and soon scrambled to find the sequels.
Still keeping it strong in spite of my (former) work schedule, but there's plans to return to graduate school in the works. Still not sure where I want to go with it, so once that's solidified, course change ahoy.
-----
I try to keep up to date with the most recent stuff; there's nothing more depressing than watching a show and finding out it aired at a point and you totally just overlooked it. A lot of discussion can be missed that way, as some of my friends have learned.
I'm Teia Rabishu, Water Cooler Talk mod and prolific Outside Magic poster. As I mentioned above, my username looks Japanese but it actually isn't. Also, like my profile mentions, I'm the resident token trans woman for all your HR-satisfying needs. I'm a huge walking stereotype, being an extremely nerdy university student who's way too much into vidya gaems and animu/mango for her own good. There may or may not be manga and Gundam models on my shelves and anime posters on my walls. Also: I'm a massive fujoshi (although much more of a yuri fangirl than a yaoi fangirl). That last point could get interesting depending on where discussions go.
I'm not going to attempt to list all the anime I've seen and manga I've read, since there's way too many to list (even before you start counting ecchi and hentai...). Suffice to say I've seen my fair share of them, and they span pretty much every conceivable genre. University's eating up a lot of my time at the moment, so while I have an extensive backlog of anime to go through, it's not really budging. I am, however, currently going through Katawa Shoujo, though the only routes I plan on doing are Hanako and Rin.
Edit: Oh yeah, and I'm one of those filthy heathens who prefers dubs to subs. Take that how you will.
Currently doing a Postgrad in Bioscience Enterprise, seen a fair share of anime/manga, translated a fair share too (translating is fun! No, really.) Need to catch up on recent anime after exams, only been watching Jojo, Magi and HidaSketch this season so far.
Currently waiting for Nozomi to release Rose of Versailles.
Posted a bit in the old clan thread, then lack of discussion + busy semester basically meant I forgot all about it. Hoping this thread is a bit more active
PS watched Wolf Children last Thursday - LOVED IT!
Hey this thing again! I'm not watching as much as I used to, but sign me up anyway.
As an introduction: I primarily favor shonen anime that have a story focus, but I do have a weak spot for moe shows that have good writing.
My watched list is a little too long to write in full, but a sample would be:
Code Geass (+R2)
Dragonball/Z/GT
Bleach
Naruto
Bakuman
Toriko
Lucky Star
IkuMusume (only the 1st season, didn't like S2)
Full Metal Alchemist
Full Metal Panic
Trigun
Gintama (First 200 eps)
Rurouni Kenshin
YuYu Hakusho
I'm currently watching JoJo, Toriko (still), and HunterxHunter (still). MLP S3 comes out in a few days, so I probably won't be watching much more this season. :3
I also read Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, and Toriko. Hopefully Bleach and Naruto end soon, so I can pick up something else.
To break the ice with all the new members, tell us about yourself. Of course, you can tell as much or as little as you like.
How I watch anime: A few years ago I counted over 700 DVDs in my collection, though I may have passed 900 since then. I rarely watch online.
Dub or Sub: I watch English dubs. Watch anime, read manga, that's how I roll. I tolerate subs at clubs, cons, and online. But I don't buy physical media unless it has a dub.
Recent Shows: I recently watched Majikoi Oh Samurai Girls, Freezing, Okami-san and Her Seven Companions, Strike Witches 2, The World God Only Knows 2, and ef~A Tale of Memories.
Stuff I plan to watch before 2013: Legend of the Legendary Heroes, Heaven's Memo Pad, Heaven's Lost Property 2, Infinite Stratos, ef~A Tale of Melodies, C-Money of Soul and Possibility Control, and Jinki Extend. Basically, my stack of unopened DVDs.
Other: I don't cosplay, but I do buy figures and other collectibles.

Well, sure, if that's what you want. Post again when you leave the Izzet, I can't really add you right now.
An interesting random thing that I found soon after the last thread's closure is yet another official MtG manga. This time, it's more about playing the actual game than the story of it, and it's surprisingly accurate about the rules. I suppose that it was some kind of promotion for M13, and the only time I've ever seen it on my strides around the Internet is when the first chapter's been uploaded. You can get it here, though it's not translated: http://www.mediafire.com/?ma662073xgs1lnf
Well, sure, if that's what you want. Post again when you leave the Izzet, I can't really add you right now.
Gotcha .
Guess I better introduce myself then :
My name is Michael , a high school student soon to be moving to New Zealand.
My hobbies are mtg , reading manga ( mostly hentai ) , playing soccer and playing LoL . I hope to be a psychologist . My idol is Michael Jackson . I would love to join this clan , even though I dont watch as much anime as I used to ( 465 bleach episode in 2 months ... which is a bit much >> ) .
Assuming 30-day months, that's 7.75 episodes per day, and assuming 20 minutes per episode (OP/ED themes get tiresome after a while), that's a bit over two and a half hours of Bleach per day. So basically for two months, Bleach was seriously over 10% of your life. Impressive.

I'm glad i'm good at dodging
I love LoL, but haven't been playing very much recently. I'm mainly a top laner, but i'll play any role. My favorite champion is Jarvan.
I love Grimmer, he's one of my favorite characters from Monster.
Animes Ive watched :
Death note
Code Geass
(normal) Full metal alchemist
bleach
naturo (-_-)
lucky star
melancholy of haruhi
deadman wonderland
soul eater
vampire knight
mirai nikki
all dragonballs
(around 10 others which are not worth mentioning=
--Starting to watch:
Guren Lagann
edit: I also play league of legends ... trying to find a decent duo queue partner since someone always feeds my lane

I try to keep up to date with the most recent stuff; there's nothing more depressing than watching a show and finding out it aired at a point and you totally just overlooked it. A lot of discussion can be missed that way, as some of my friends have learned.
[GTC] Gatecrash Patch for MWS (249/249)
As an introduction: I primarily favor shonen anime that have a story focus, but I do have a weak spot for moe shows that have good writing.
My watched list is a little too long to write in full, but a sample would be:
Dragonball/Z/GT
Bleach
Naruto
Bakuman
Toriko
Lucky Star
IkuMusume (only the 1st season, didn't like S2)
Full Metal Alchemist
Full Metal Panic
Trigun
Gintama (First 200 eps)
Rurouni Kenshin
YuYu Hakusho
I also read Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, and Toriko. Hopefully Bleach and Naruto end soon, so I can pick up something else.
You can get it here, though it's not translated:
