Welcome to the magical world of wizard duels. Back before there was Magic: The Gathering, there was Spellcaster, also known as Waving Hands. It is a game played between two wizards who are having a duel. They make various hand gestures to cast spells, or perhaps just stab one another with knives, attempting to become the Wizard Ruler of the Grand Arena! A wizard is said to have won when his opponent has given up or is dead. But two is such a boring number. Let's play it with six wizards!
The Rules
Here you go. I know it seems rather complicated, but think of it like chess, where you have a set of performable moves at any one time and the order in which you perform this is most important. However, some of the rules are confusing or not fit for a duel of more than two wizards. Here are some erratas, clarifications, and unique-to-these-forums rules.
As noted in the introduction, six wizards. This is just the right amount to make me go only slightly insane keeping track of it all. I reserve the right to increase or decrease game sizes in the future.
You will submit moves to me through private messaging by the posted deadline. You must select your right hand's move, your left hand's move, which spells to cast if you have multiple choices on a single hand, targets if eligible, and anything else I message you to clarify. Failure to do so by the deadline will result in doing nothing with both hands that round. If you do nothing with both hands two rounds in row, or on a regular basis, your wizard will automatically drop out and you may or may not be blacklisted from participating in the future, depending on the circumstances under which this occurred. If life gets too busy, just make the palm signal with both hands, signaling that you surrender, as there is no penalty for doing so. Besides losing, of course.
The spell Blindness can not be cast.
The spell Raise Dead will only raise dead creatures (not elementals or players) under your control and restore them to full health. It can still target living players, however; if cast on the same target as Finger of Death, the spells cancel one another out.
I will personally roll the dice for Confusion.
The choice of hand for Paralysis must be made before all gestures are revealed, however you will be notified by private message as to what your target's hand gesture's are for that turn, so that you may choose the hand to best benefit you.
Confused about any of the rules? Make a post in this thread and I'll add a clarification here.
The Catch
I'm going to be narrating the battle, much in the same manner Tanarin narrates The Arms Race REBOOT, plug plug. It will be grand tale of wizards, emotions, and silliness.
The Signups
To sign up, make a post including the name of wizarding persona (it can even be your own name), plus any other details you want to add. You will then be added into the game list. I will only run one game of six at any given time, but even if there's a game currently running feel free to sign up, as you will be simply be auto-included for the next game, unless you notify me in-between that you will no longer be able to participate.

I opened one last year, got two crap worldwake packs and 8x scathe zombies, which I promptly hid around my sister's apartment for her roommates to find. But, yeah, it was a piece of crap.
You, sir, have just won the internet. Congratulations.
“Welcome, ladies, gentlemen, and toads to the grand opening of the Grand Arena! I'm your host, Sir Mu, and we have a very special opening match for you today, folks! A six way Wizard Duel!” The crowd shouted in excitement. “Let us meet our contestants! Representing the element of fire, we have Milamber!” A section of the crowd, dressed entirely in red, let out a loud woop. Fireworks exploded behind Milamber as he entered the arena, a large wooden post of his name being pushed behind him. “I. Am. Milamber!” He shouted, lighting the wooden post on fire. It quickly burnt to ash, a tribute to Milamber's power.
“Next, representing the element of Earth, we have Grendel the Really Old!” A slow old man with a walker crawled his way onto the stage. The crowd laughed. “This is the mighty dread-wizard Grendel?” came a snarky voice from the crowd. “He probably couldn't use magic to heat his own tea!” Grendal whipped around quickly to face the dissenting voice and clapped his hands, causing stones to rain down upon the heckler. “Oh, that has to hurt!” Sir Mu announced.
“Our third contestant, representing the element of water, we have...Tim!” Tim strolled out confidently and there was a fearful silence spread throughout the crowd. “I am Tim, also known as Tim The Enchanter, grand wizard of the seven seas, who has bested many beasts and opposing wizards. My kills to days living ratio is above one, and I am the most revered slayer of Junix, the dread dragon. If you wish not to meet a horrible demise, lesser wizards, place both your palms up now; there will be no mercy otherwise.”
“Interesting! Onto our fourth contestant, we have-”
“Did I say I was done speaking?” Tim gave Sir Mu a nasty look.
“N-no.”
“Then do not interrupt me.” There was silence.
“A-are you done?”
“Yes.”
“Like I was saying, onto the fourth contestant, we have Rakvol, the Jinx, representing the element of air!” A small hooded figure floated onto the stage, hovering silently. The crowd stared in anticipation, not noticing that they were all floating in the air until Rakvol pointed it out in a soft voice that seemed to be coming from everywhere. “Woah!” they all went simultaneously. They then were gently floated back down to their seats. “Now that's power, folks!” Sir Mu laughed. “This announcement is brought to you by the only thing with more power, Rakvol brand batteries!”
“As for our fifth contestant, we have the much awaited representative of magic, Brancaleone da Norcia!” The most cookie cutter image of a wizard imaginable walked into view; blue robes, blue pointing hat, long flowing white beard, slightly old looking but not too much, and oddly shaped slippers. An entire collective of identically dressed wizards clapped rather politely and orderly from the stands. A small boy whos robes were too large tried shouted in excitement, only to grabbed by the waist and brought outside the arena by one of the older wizards.
“Last, but certainly not least, we have our sixth contest, Digi, representing...” Sir Mu looked down at his announcement booklet; everything on Digi was in badly written crayon. Sir Mu looked up and continued his announcement. “Er, um, representing Robot Dragon Ninjas?” A fully grown man wearing a trench coat and sunglasses teleported to the center. A large collection of the stadium were children holding robot dragon ninja dolls, causing the loudest cheer yet. Digi held up his hand, signaling the end of the applause, but then clapped his hands together, causing Robot Dragon Ninja merchandise to fall from the ceiling into the hands of delighted children. Several audience members had to be carried out on stretchers in the ensuing stampede and fist fight.
“And that, folks, is all six contestants!” Sir Mu casted dispel magic, followed by anti-spell, at each of the mages. “Let the duel begin!”
First round moves due by August 10th at 11:59PM GMT. This includes clarifying anything I ask of you, so it is beneficial to not wait until the last second. Feel free to PM me any questions you may have.
“What an exciting first round, folks!” Sir Mu shouted as all the wizards made hand signals, some of them even casting their first spell; a shield.
“You will all die horribly.” Tim grinned, waving his left hand “Including you.” He pointed at Sir Mu with his right hand.
“Youth today, no respect for their elders!” Grendel the Really Old held up his left palm, a bright flash of light protruding from it, indicating a shield spell, while his right hand made the same waving signal as Tim.
Rakvol, the Jinx snapped his left hand's fingers and also imitated the wave with his right hand.
The other three, Milamber, Digi, and Brancaleone da Norcia all cast a shield with their left hand and snapped their fingers with their right. Digi pursed his lips. “I know you want to be as cool as me, but c'mon, copying me isn't alright.”
Second round moves due by August 15th at 11:59PM GMT. It would have probably be the 13th, except for BronYAur's absence.

I'll always be updating the original post with the most recent List of Moves, immediately after the fluff has been posted, in case you want to ignore it for some reason.
Actually, this was a bad idea. Although the constraints placed on me to run this are minimal, I'd just rather not. If any of you are still intereted in playing this on your own, I recommend either this or this.
I have no issue running this. But before I start a new thread. What sort of deadline would players be looking for per move? I was thinking 48 hours/move tops. I would also be playing but md5ing my moves before hand.

If you're town and I'm mafia, you've already lost. You just don't know it yet.
I'd still like to play. I was thinking more like 72 hours per round, because checking every other day and making intelligent plays is not always an option if you are at work and/or school all day. 48 is fine with me if everyone else is cool with it, but daily is just too much.
