Starcity games? This is the WORST place to check prices. WTF? How much volume do they sell.
If you want to know real prices, you check EBAY. Why would anyone not check EBAY? They clear the most product and prices are dynamic and updating live. SCG is way overpriced -- virtually everything is available for 20 to 30% less on EBAY almost all the time.
So please, if you're using SCG as some kind of proxy for demand, you are going to be way off from reality.
Thragtusk, while being rare only, is valued that high because it has to carry the whole set of M13, more or less, due to (most of the) other rare and mythic slot filled with jank that`s worth waay less than a pack (~ $3) each.
On the other hand side, RTR is filled with chase rare and mythics, so none of these has to bear the single burden to carry the value of all the other rares, thus averaging out their prices.

It feels like it's probably correct to move all of the RTR stuff you have. There might still be sleepers, but it's more likely that everything is going to fall. Nothing has moved downwards yet- at least not as much as it should.
Very surprised to see Abrupt Decay still sitting at 20$. The SCG Open shows that it's not playable in standard (it made one maindeck in the top 32 as a one-of). It's not even that good in legacy- of the top 32 there, only one person made use of the card. It looks very bad in modern- it does nothing against too many of the decks in the format, and Combust is better in the sideboard when you want to bring it in (can't be redirected to Spellskite). It seems like it's doing roughly the same thing as Grafdigger's Cage- having price driven by initial hype for a sideboard card that is one of many options. I expected the card to fall to 10$ by now (and probably sit at 4-6$ by the time Gatecrash comes out), but it hasn't dropped at all.
Jace has risen as expected. It probably can't maintain a $50 price tag- the price seems mostly due to the mad rush for cards. My guess is that it'll settle at around $35 by about the time Gatecrash comes out, but its very hard to say. This does seem very similar to Liliana.
I think a price drop is inevitable on the following cards:
Mythic:
- Epic Experiment - dollar bin mythic, since it's not breakable
- Jace, Architect of Thought - largely hype-based price, will probably drop a little once that settles
- Rakdos's Return - 1 or 2 of against control decks in BR decks with lots of mana sources. It's hard to see this maintaining 5$
- Rakdos, Lord of Riots - looks mostly unplayable, but might stay afloat due to casual appeal
- Sphinx's Revelation - not very good when most control decks are tap-out and the format is fast. At best it's a 1-2 of.
- Trostani, Selesnya's Voice - win-more in standard. Theoretically good against zombies, but sideboard cards do not command 20$ price tags
- Vraska, the Unseen - As the name suggests, unseen in competitive play. Will likely stay above 15$ due to casual appeal.
Rare
- Abrupt Decay
- Shocklands - people need them for decks, but their current price seems highly inflated. Will probably sit at 8-10$ once things settle
Abrupt Decay has started its slow climb down tcgplayer. Chances are by next week, it should drop to around a price of a shockland. (Which shockland, I am not sure.)
On a sidenote, prices for the average RTR Box has risen considerably since the preorder period in Singapore too. From feedback gathered from some of the LGS owners, they are running out of RTR fast because too many people want to draft/open packs.
Been playing online at the reanimator deck with Angel of Serenity is essentially autowin when it resolves. And since it can hit turn four with Unburial Rites... I don't know any deck that's faster.
I get Jace is good. But how is Jace $40 and AoS, also a mythic, still selling for Buy it Now for under $15?
And meanwhile, Thragtusks are also around $15? I get it, but the Angel is still a mythic so maybe when ppl realize this deck is almost impossible to beat, and IS impossible with a perfect draw.
My G/W ramp gets Angel out on turn 4 quite often or otherwise turn 5. But you don't always need to drop the Angel right away. G/W has many other great threats then you drop Angel to seal the game. There's a ton of untapped potential with the Angel - hopefully, I'll break it @ states or the next SC if I can make it there.
Supply is just starting to dry up, folks (see Jace)... so expect another price bump in the near future for competitive/popular RtR rares/mythics.
It's an instant speed 5/5 trampler for 4. Wtf do you people want seriously? It has applications in populate/ above the curve beats decks, or in Bant control/ flash. I seriously think anyone mad at this card for any reason other than losing an attacker to instant speed wurm, should go home and make their own awesome card game and leave the rest of us alone.
Don't watch the prices on TCGplayer - watch them on ebay. Abrupt decay is 15$ or lower buyitnow. Most of the others have fallen 25% across the board. Shocks are holding steady.

Not surprising, price memory for shocks are still strong. You can never have too many shocklands, unless of course WOTC decides to go ballistic and reprint them like they did with the M10~12 duals.

I wouldn't be too surprised if they used the shocks as the core set duals.
Any updates from Rancored or Jeff possible? Would be curious to see how things are holding up.
This is a very rough price update. These numbers are taken from a combination of the lower end of ebay buy it nows, the lower end of tcgplayer, and what Ive personally priced the cards at, in some cases based upon demand (high or low) for the cards in question.
** = Top sellers from the set.
Lots of the others have still sold very well, bot those are the ones that have sold the most. I definitely love this set though, gotta say.
Sorry I cannot provide more information, but Im up to my ears in work trying to keep up with demand (good for sales, bad for free time, hehe) :).
Enjoy and Ill try to post something more detailed as soon as I can.
Sales of RTR stock @ market steet feel pretty slow, but I'm happy to see Jeff and Elf doing well at their shops. I'm taking a guess that within a few weeks we should see corrections. I don't think this set can sustain such a high EV for too much longer, because from the people I've spoken to, it's just better to buy a box than to buy singles. I disagree, but all the people I've seen crack boxes have got $120 - $150 of value out of them.
The biggest price slide I've seen was Nivmagus. Started at $3 day after pre release, right now worth about $1.25 tcgplayer low.
Currently, supply levels are still a little constrained. Ive heard of local shops running out of RTR product (prior to the current 2nd print run that we just got a few cases from). Most of those pre-sold a ton of boxes though, and thats part of what their problem was. The value of this set is currently insane, and is being propped up by perceived, and real in some cases, supply issues, as well as very high demand, thanks to the sheer number of people wanting RTR product, and states, and the rotation, among other things.
Once we get past states, and demand begins to stabilize a bit, and once the 3rd print run hits and stabilizes the supply, then we should see prices stabilize right along with them. For now though, expect the EV of the set to remain high.
The card's most recent move is on right. means no movement. is a card that wasn't on the list last update. This is the update's hottest mover. (#) is price in CND incl. shipping here.
Worldspine Wurm, Ash Zealot, and Nivmagus Elemental fell below $3 and therefore off the tally, but that still leaves 27 cards worth opening in a booster pack!
Overall, sales for me have been decent but nothing special. I've just picked up my first case and will be shipping preorders and stocking my inventory, so that may help (many customers prefer to wait until the cards are physically in hand before buying). Local supply is still nonexistent so my next case may be iffy. When I locate one I expect to pay 25% more than normal for it, but we shall see.
Briefly, Jace nearing $50? Bad acid flashbacks!!! As for Angel of Serenity... 2nd place? Come on... not gonna last! I'm shocked by the pace of Mizzium Mortars sales... sold out in 48 hours! Armada Wurm is similar in value to a 10/10 trample for 2GGWW (consider Conqueror's Pledge), which wouldn't make the cut, so I expect the Wurm to drop heartily soon. Sphinx's Revelation is another card whose rise baffles me. Much worse than Stroke of Genius, perhaps a 2-of in a small number of decks. Trostani Selesnya's Voice is well up, but I'm not sure where it's being played so heavily. I don't think it'll hold this level. The shockduals are holding tight and I don't plan to drop my prices on them, as I know they will sell. Just got an order in for about $200 of them as I typed this, actually.
My grama is in ICU and may not pull through, and I'm extremely close with her, so things are busy and upset around here right now. I'll have to leave my analysis (aka "wall of text") until another time. But I'm glad I got a full price update done and managed to update the tally before heading back to the hospital. I hope everybody's well.

Do you mean that you think Angel of Serenity is going to take over the #1 spot at some point or that it will fall from the #2 spot? Because I don't see another card in the set that could potentially overtake it aside from Niv-Mizzet.
Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
Right now, a box is worth it if you can get it for $120 or less. Any more than that, and it's not as sure of a thing.
Exactly. I also got my box mostly for the shocks, trade stock, and general card base. I pre-ordered mine for $104, and after tallying everything up it was definitely worth around $160 (just off of Mythics, Rares, and Uncommons), according to Jeff's and R_E's prices, and I didn't even get a Jace, Vraska, or anything like that. Angel of Serenity was my best singular pull, but the quality of uncommons in this set is among the highest I have ever seen, it's easy to make it back from semi-ok rare pulls.
This reminds me a lot of Innistrad, where the chances of getting something good increased due to the auto-include of a DFC, which could range from crap like Villagers of Estwald all the way up to Garruk Relentless.
So even if you only get a $1 rare in a pack of RTR, if your uncommons are, say, Dryad Militant, Judge's Familiar, and Azorius Charm (a pack of mine was like this, with my rare being Search the City). IMHO this is perhaps THE best box of sealed material you can buy. The value of the set is solidly located within the rares and uncommons, with a few standout Mythics, and several decent commons - the Guildgates being among the best, as nothing like them in their commonality has ever been produced. So if you can, as Ember Twilight said, find one for less than $120, even with a mediocre pool you should get at least that, or better.

Ezuri, Renegade Leader (Aggro/Combo - Favorite) Skullbriar, the Walking Grave (Sac and Grave hijinks) Azusa, Lost but Seeking (Landfall hijinks) Kaalia of the Vast (Heavily modded)
The irony of it all was that I actually regretted preordering 8 RTR boxes as I considered it as an impulsive buy but now feel like kicking myself in the ass for not ordering more. (It does not help that I did not have to put down a single cent for deposits on preorder and got them for 90 a box too. )
If Gatecrash is gona be just as crazy as RTR, I am putting down orders for several cases and will sell my soul to get the money!

I am surprised that this thread isn't moving based on how exciting this set is.
Does anyone see any cards here that are poised for an increase? I am really struggling to imagine anything going up too much with the exception of two cards: Angel of Serenity and Jarad's Orders.
I am in 100% disagreement mode on the Angel with RE. With Titans rotating, it is by far the best creature that you can ramp into in the current standard. It is also the best Unburial Rites target. I personally think it is the best card, or second best in the set. I have had the opportunity to play with Jace yet and he seems to be well regarded.
As far as Jarad's Orders goes, it is a unique tutor that combos well with a lot of different cards and, like all tutors, it gets better every time a new creature with Graveyard interactions is printed.
I would love to hear other opinions now that people have played with the cards!
In summation.....Star Trek wins a prolonged naval battle against superior, yet less technologically advanced, numbers, with Picard leading the assault, while Kirk takes your soul by laying out Solo and probably his manservant Chewy as well, before impregnating and ditching your Princess.

Angel of Serenity is not only amazing in reanimator but there are a bunch of G/W(x) ramp decks that basically Titan-ramp 2.0 with x4 Angels (hit two and you get an absurd recur-loop)... and seem to be doing very well. So, yeah, I'm also on the boat for Angel being at minimum a $20 card.
Do you mean that you think Angel of Serenity is going to take over the #1 spot at some point or that it will fall from the #2 spot? Because I don't see another card in the set that could potentially overtake it aside from Niv-Mizzet.
This is pretty much where I'm at though I believe Armada Wurm will stay high being not only a great card but there are a ton of different G/W(x) builds. Niv-Mizzet will probably not shine for another set or two (maybe not until next block). Jace will always be up there to but doubt it stays #1.
Reguarding the wurm, the angel & Jace. The 3 of them have bean sold out on SCG for the past 3 or 4 days I'm not sure exactly. How is this possoble? Does this mean that the 3 of them are posed for an increase? Is scg playing games? I think these 3 cards will continue to climb if the biggest online game store is sold out of them for days, or is that what they want me to think?

At least that what`s someone said some pages back, and it makes sense, as currently, there is no other M13 vanilla rare that`s worth more than $3 (http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showpost.php?p=9104001&postcount=412), only some mythics.

MtG Sales List
Mostly in it for Shocks and Jace, but trade fodder would be nice too, as I haven't played in a few months.

If Gatecrash is gona be just as crazy as RTR, I am putting down orders for several cases and will sell my soul to get the money!
I'm in the same boat I wanted 3 cases of this set but only ordered 2 :(.
I got my pre-order in before the prices went ballistic though thankfully.
Feel free to bid on my cards here!
Wow...and to think, I had signed up for the pre-order of RtR, but decided against it later on...
This is pretty much where I'm at though I believe Armada Wurm will stay high being not only a great card but there are a ton of different G/W(x) builds. Niv-Mizzet will probably not shine for another set or two (maybe not until next block). Jace will always be up there to but doubt it stays #1.
