Why do Lgs stores feel the need to Extremely inflate the prices of From the Vault sets when their MSRP is only 34.99?
Do they even have the right?
You don't see Gamestop selling Modern Warfare 3 for 100$....
Commander's arsenal is already high msrp and 2 of my lgs's have it on preorder for 200 dollars.....so unbelievable....
and FTV realms cant be bought anywhere for 35 dollars... lowest pre-order price being 100 dollars.
Can these be had anywhere for their Retail prices? Do i have to go wizards myself?

These things are collector's items being released in limited quantities--they're not made to be sold for MSRP. Plenty of items (cars, clothes) are sold for below MSRP, and plenty of items are marked up from MSRP (limited-release and high-demand items, etc...).
Seriously, stop whining. You couldn't get $100+ of cards for $35? Boo hoo
It's basic supply vs demand. For video games it is in the publisher's best interest to sell as many copies of the game as possible so it is willing to print as many copies of a game as there are people who are willing to buy.
FTV sets on the other hand are strictly limited in print. Wizards is not willing to print more of this set to meet the demand. That's why their market price is so much higher than their suggusted retail price. I think Wizards should stop putting MSRP on these type of products as it creates unrealistic expectations from the public which results in the misplaced vilification of the "greedy" retailers.

I'm going to ignore your immature answer even if it had some reason to it. Grow up. I don't appreciate insults.

I have never and will never pay more than MSRP (Well, I may pay a little more) for a FTV. If you spent all the energy you put into complaining on the internet into looking for cheap copies, you would find them, I promise. There are 3 stores (Out of a good 20) in a 100 mile radius of me that sell these at MSRP.

Some stores will sell at MSRP, some for price X, others will use them as tournament prizes to drum up interest. The point of FTV is to give LG stores some discretionary power over the MTG product, which is otherwise tightly regulated by WotC and DCI.
One of my LGS who routinely sells FTV for MSRP forgot to register for them and will not be getting any. Awkward....lol

Thank you WOTC for introducing the Modern format, a format where all the whiners can enjoy a level playing field and where they can play with none of the best cards of all time!

Umm yes I see game stores sell "special collector's edition" of video games for way more than the MSRP.
Demand > supply always meant FTV to get jacked up in price.
I have never seen a *New* copy of a CE for any video game sold for more than MSRP at any chain store (Best Buy, Gamestop, Walmart, etc).
I have seen *New* Copies of CE's go for massive prices on the second hand market though.

If nerds are willing to pay ridiculous amounts then the stores are gonna try n' squeeze out every last dollar. My non-foil, non-alt art Groves, Tombs, Maze of Ith, etc. do the same job as the ones in this ftv. I never really understood the appeal of FTV anyway. Star City has the full list in an article, check it out. It's disappointing.
FTV cards are ugly as hell!!!! The foiling process doesn't impress me at all. The originals are ALWAYS better! Just buy singles of the cards you feel you need. That is your best bet IMO.

Target and Walmart sell at MSRP. You just got to search for them.
Great and all, but FTVs are only available to core/advanced brick and mortar gaming stores that are set up with wizards to be able to receive these products. The only way to get these is eithor from a local card shop (which are limited to 10-20 depending upon their level with wizards (core/advanced)), or from their website if they choose to put some up on there, or from the secondary market (ebay et all). I suspect, given what we've seen of the full list, that these will likely end up at around $100 on release day as far as the secondary market (and thusly many shops that wont sell them at msrp).
Preselling Commander at $100 is just dumb. Walmart and Target DO carry those. Plus the print run isn't nearly as limited.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.

I was talking about the FTV specifically, just to clarify. As for the commander thing, yeah, I imagine those should be available a variety of places, and thusly trying to pre-sell it for more when its allready at an msrp of $80 does certainly seem a bit silly.
Manufacturers set MSRP, in part, so that distributors don't charge retail stores too much for their product.
Consider these two examples:
Example One:
(1) I make a really sweet item that I feel should sell well in stores for $20. So I set an MSRP for $20.00.
(2) In order for my item to be sold in most big stores I have to sell my item to a distributor. They take care of all the problems involved in getting my item on a store's self and they are happy to buy my item for $10.
(3) The distributor sells my item to a retail store for $15.
(4) The retail store looks at my product and says: "hmmm MSRP of $20.00, ok lets charge $20". The store knows that the distributor marked up the item by an acceptable amount and that the item was designed to sells well in the store for $20.00.
Example Two:
(1) I make a really sweet item that I feel should sell well in stores for $20. However I decide not to put an MSRP on my item(for whatever reason). So I sell my item without a MSRP for $10 to a distributor.
(2) The distributor looks at my item and thinks: "lol, I bet we can get stores to buy this for $25.00!"
(3) The distributor sells my item to a retail store for $25
(4) The retail store looks at my product and says: "hmmm no MSRP, ok lets charge 40% more than what we paid for it like we do with all our items". The store has no idea how much the distributor marked up the item and they sell item for $35.00 in their store. The item will now either (A) not sell well since the item was intended to have an in store price point of $20.00 not $35.00 (B) The item will sell ok but the consumer will have to pay $10 more because the distributor got greedy.
WOTC views 'From the Vault' sets to be a reward, of sorts, to retail hobby stores. They set the MSRP low to limit how much the distributor can markup the set to hobby stores. This way most of the profit ends up in the pockets of the hobby store and not the distributor's.

If wizards want to reward just the retailers why don't they bypass the distributors and ship them directly to the retailers. Since there is such a limited quantity and Wizards was able to send player reward cards to every registered player, this wouldn't be that much of a logistical hardship.
Also many stores buy cards to sell, and the value of these cards would be more than $35, so I doubt they want someone to buy ftv only to resell them the cards for more than $35 on the spot.

Since the S in MSRP stands for "suggested", I guess they do.

You also have the right to not buy form them.
I fail to see the issue.

Considering there is no way outside of some really odd logistical error that probably would never actually happen, that is not possible.
