Transforming a card into a spell seems pointless when you can simply add a trigger. It's really attempting to push the mechanic just for the mechanic's sake when there already exists a way within the rules which we know would work.
I will add that the idea of a transforming spell (spell on both sides) that would transform while on the stack is interesting, but even then it's rather gimmicky and could likely be accomplished with triggers or conditions that alter the effect of a normal spell.
