I ran a search and didn't see any threads about this specifically, and I don't think this breaks the rules (but it's late!).
What I'm really wanting, and have not been able to find, is a hi-res version of Scott Chou's Emancipation Angel artwork. It's a really beautiful artwork and I'd kill (via Doom Blade) to have a good hi-res version of it. Can anyone tell me if one is available, and if so, where to find it? I tried getting in touch with Scott Chou, but unfortunately it was just the concept art house which employs him, and they haven't responded to my email in the weeks since I've sent it.

Thanks for the quick response. Does Chou have his own website? I haven't found one, mostly just community stuff. Maybe it'll have contact info or I can at least check back every now and then in case a hi-res version does become available.

Had you clicked the link, you'd have seen that I mentioned he doesn't have a regularly updated website. He does have a page on conceptart.org, though he hasn't even visited it for three years. It's extremely difficult to find any work online from artists of Asian descent for some reason.

I did click the link, but read that as "he has a website, it's just not regularly updated." Well, darn. That is most disappointing, because I really, really like the Emancipation Angel.

I did a quick search and got nothing, so here goes:
Anyone have a link for alters of Oversized cards, like the foils that come in Arsenal and Commander decks? I'm looking for either a how-to or just examples of alters.
In short, I'm trying to find a use for all my oversized foils. People just keep *****ing about how worthless they are, and I agree - but instead of howling in impotent rage, I'd like to turn the ones I have into something I can use, instead of gathering dust in a corner.
I tried searching the thread, but only came up with questions about protective coat brands instead of technique. So here goes.
Question for those of you who apply a clear coat finish to your alters:
I recently tried using Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic gloss to protect an alter, but I can't get a good balance between the coat being overly thick and it being spotted.
The first alter I sprayed ended up way too thick. It's smooth, but really really glossy and a little uneven in areas. Not wanting to ruin another alter, I tried again with an unpainted basic land. I did two very light coatings. That fixed the the glossiness. However, when I hold the card up to the light, instead of a smooth surface I can see hundreds of tiny pits where the spray went on unevenly. The pits are also slightly noticeable to touch unsleeved. Is this normal?
If not, what am I doing wrong? I hold the can about 8 inches from the card and do two quick sweeps for each coat.
I wish I could procure an image so you could see what I'm talking about, but the coating doesn't show up on a scan.
Well, not sure what to say about your technique, but I can tell you wich is mine (and works perfectly):
I use fixative varnish Acrilfix from Acrilex (semi-gloss), and spread it from a distance of 30-40cm. In first place, I apply the spray outside the piece for a second to let the air get out first, then move it onto the piece while still spraying, letting the product cover the piece for a second or two. It will look like with drops, whose make the surface look like "potentially thicky", but what you need to do then is just to dry it carefully with a hair drier from a distance of 30-40 cm, and waving movements. The apparent thickness will dissapear and the piece will look great.
Thanks so much for the reply! I'll have to test the hair dryer technique next time I have something that needs to be sealed.
Another question that's been nagging me for a while, and which I haven't been able to find a decent answer to: how do you guys dig out the title text after painting over it? I'll give an example of what I'm talking about using an Exalted Angel altered by cardkitty (found here, hope this is sufficient citation: http://www.cardkitty.com/showcard.php?card_id=25592&type=borderless)
See how the "Exalted Angel" text has been perfectly carved out, very visible but also blending right into the background? I've tried just using a toothpick, but it's never nearly as crisp as the example above (usually take a little too much and expose the gray/brown background of the original card). I know part of it is just the fact that the above artist is ridiculously talented, but I'm wondering if there's also a trick to it that I'm missing. So do you guys use toothpicks or something else?
I'm fairly creative and would like to at least look into altering cards. Are there any tutorials or resources online that serve as good starting points for people who would like to learn this skill?
Don't know if I am even allowed, but I am looking for the largest image of steve argyl's liliana and chandra artwork. the largest I can find is 1308 x 764 and thats not large enough. If anyone could link me or send me a message or just send me a large picture that would be awesome. thanks
I'm not a MTG player however I am helping a buddy with a project of his. I am wondering if anyone has the Planeswalker loyalty counters (I think it's what they are called, it's the +1, -5 deals on the Planeswalker cards). I am looking for them ideally in some kind of vector format, png and gif are cool as well. Transparency is a must.
Anyone know where I coud find these? I've done plenty of searching online. Thanks!
I am looking for someone to MAKE something for me... I stumbled upon this and I wanted one... However, it's been a year since that person did anything on youtube so I doubt he'll read the message I sent him, but I was hoping to find someone here that could do it for me. I would happily pay (through paypal) for something like this. If anyone could point me to someone who could do this would make me really happy.

The question I'd have in response would be "Why?" It sounds like you're trying to do something illegal that would likely take funding away from the original artist for his work, and I won't support that.
Well since i havent stumbled upon one, any one have a high res Squire art. I dont need the whole card just the art. thanks
Good luck. That artist barely exists on the interwebs. If you'd like to try though, here is his facebook page. You could try sending him a message asking for a nice hi res image of that piece.

I have contacted the artist already regarding why I want the image. He is unable to give me permission to use the image, or sell me a large high-res print due to him having the rights taken away by wizards or something like that. So as to taking funding away from Steve Argyl, thats not a possibility.
