Sorry if this isnt the tread to post this, i have a problem with mws:
Sometimes when i make a deck and load it to play it gives me the mesage:
"Load deck error: Cards not found in base"
What does it means? I updated the masterbase from the oficial site when SoM was released, so How do I fix it??? please can anybody help me?

To those who are getting the "Load Error: Cannot find cards in base. I tried something.
I opened one of the pre built decks (like 2003 championship or whatver) Deleted all its contents and began putting the cards from my deck of my choice in one by one. after each one I would save (cntl+s) then open the connect to an opponent window (cntl+I) and if it went to the opponent window I know its loading my deck. It took a while and was tedious but I can now use my edh deck. I made sure every card I added was the oldest version possible.
It let me connect. It really sucks because I know if I make any new decks I'm going to have to do this but since mws is still (by some miracle) still being played even though this error is about by tons of others.
The ONLY way I have found to fix this is to open one of the already existing decks, (championship decks/precons ect) and build your own deck you want in place of it.
I have been using just to be safe, all cards from the earliest print, and then when I save it I try and open it to connect. (control I) If it brings up the call screen you know it is working.
Then all you have to do is go into the MWS deck folder find the champion deck you just edited, copy it, paste it somewhere else and rename it (whatever your deck is.dec) and go from there.
Because of this, I can now play mws with out fail.
Hi, I'm new to MWS. Seems to be a powerful program!
I only have one problem: the card display at the right side. As you can see, the card picture was supposed to fill the entire frame, but it doesn't. Why?
If you're getting the "Load deck error: Cards not found in base" make sure that your lands are all M11 lands. As long as my lands are M11 they load fine but if they aren't, I get that error. I also see people use the snow covered lands to get around this too.
I am using a Toshiba Satelite A665 with Windows 7. Whenever I save a file with MWS, I cannot access it from the explorer and it is only visible from the MWS interface. I have made the hidden files visible, and that has not made a difference. The icons have a lock on them when I view them in MWS. Has anyone solved this problem on their own or can someone point me to the solution?
So I get this error that says "cards not found in base" when I go into the Online play portion and try to load my extended UB fae deck. I've reinstalled MWS, and updated to the newest database to no avail-help?

So, uh, DD Elspeth vs. Tezzeret has been out for a while, but no patch exists for it, at least that I have found, so I can't enter my cards into my MWS inventory, and I'm just terrified that one or more of the cards will go missing and I'll never notice because they aren't inventoried. Oh God, oh God, someone please help me.
But seriously folks, is there going to be a MWS patch for Elspeth vs Tezzeret, or should I get to work making one myself?
EDIT: There isn't a patch for the Fire and Lightning premium deck either.

Are these not included in the updated masterbase?
You shouldn't be using text patches unless you absolutely must. In all other cases, you need to be grabbing updated masterbases from slightlymagic.

No, they're not included. I just reinstalled MWS a few days ago, due to the fact that, when I installed it the first time, I neglected to read the line about not installing it in the default directory, so my copy of the masterbase is current as of about 2-3 days ago, and the EVT and Fire and Lightning decks are not included. (The only thing that comes up for "Elspeth" in the masterbase is Elspeth Tirel from Scars and Elspeth, Knight-Errant from Shards; the only thing that comes up for "Jackal Pup", a card from Fire and Lightning, is one from Tempest and one from Friday Night Magic.)
I guess they're both fairly recent, and I THINK they both came out after Scars, so maybe they'll be included when the Mirrodin Beseiged masterbase comes out.
Afterthought: Actually, no, EVT came out before Scars, because I remember that Alara Block was still standard-legal when EVT came out, albeit not for very long. :/
Ive downloaded MWS, the masterbase, and unpacked it with WinRar. Now what Im having trouble with is getting the masterbase and data files into MWS. Can someone walk me thru this process please?

As far as I know, if you downloaded the .exe Masterbase file, it should automatically patch itself into the MWS folder just by running it. The only reason I can think of why it wouldn't do this, is if you installed MWS into the default directory.
Where is your MWS folder? If it is in your Program Files folder, you may wish to uninstall it and reinstall it somewhere else, in a folder with full read/write access, so that you don't have to have a nightmare trying to patch new sets into it.
I want to try out some of the spoiled MBS cards in my existing decks, but I cant work out how to create them. I tried using the SOM cardlist and editing it to feature new cards instead, but it wont work. Can anyone help?
Cheers

I'm having the same problem, except it's only cards from Mirrodin.
And I have an MWS tournament to participate in!
I have Vista and on my MWS both grids are completly blank. I used CTRL+M and uninstalled it several times, but every time I install it back up, both grids come back empty. Can someone please help me.

I'm getting the same thing, is there a glitch? I'd hate to have to drop out of the MWS tournament over this problem.
hi, I updated my masterbase with mbs but can't open it, when I start mws receive this message:
"debug: access violation at address 004B7E98 in module 'magicworkstation.exe'. read of address 0000078"
if I try to load the masterbase later it says "insufficient memory for this operation"
can someone tell me how to fix this please?
thanks
Download the blank rulings file and bring it into your Data folder. That should free enough space for now. Who knows how long it'll hold out for though...

If you can't find with this criteria, keep Googling.
Or even read the first post of this thread.
I promise you your question is answered in an unspoilered link.

Could GoblinHero's patch be the problem?
EDIT:
Found a workaround if you prefer to use GoblinHero's masterbase, but it only delays the inevitable.
