Sepiriel, I can (and will) share comments about Future Sight, but I'd rather wait a little longer to give more of you time to read the actual book (rather than the excellent spoiler Crimson put up in the spoiler thread). If there's something specific you'd like to hear, let me know and I'll do what I can with it.
Thanks for doing this and thanks for the comment. I was afraid I messed up the spoiler in some major way. I hope all those people that read the spoiler read the book. It was quite good and besides there's a bunch of stuff that can only be clarified by reading the book, IMO. After all I don't consider myself that great a writer.
Be prepared for a few questions from me tho next week if other people don't beat me to the punch. There's quite a few fascinating things in FS.
Good luck with Lorwyn and I hope it turns out awesome!
Hi Scott, I have a question about Toshi Umezawa, I read the Kamigawa books when they came out and loved it.
The question simply is what other, or if there are any other books that Toshi appears in. After finishing the last book for Kamigawa, I really wanted to continue reading the story but couldn't find out whether there was a book or cycle that continued Toshi's story, aside from the Legend Cycle2. Sorry if this question has been asked previously, I tried skimming through the previous posts here, but there's just too many :/
That confused me, too, but I think that Jhoira was talking about how the Jodah that she knew wasn't the Jodah that was written about in the history books. She was romanticizing the fact that no one really knows the real Jodah. But apparently she soon will. Bow-chicka-bow-wow.
And, yes, Yavimaya's rift was caused by the Goltgothian Sylex blast.
Scott, I asked a while back what was the ancient event near the Talon Gates that was so important (mentioned way back in Legends II). For clarity's sake, was the event mentioned in Future Sight between the big ugly monster and you-know-who the event in question?

In fact, the original Ice Age Cycle mentions many times that many of the deeds attributed to Jodah probably weren't handled by him at all, and that he probably did a lot of other stuff that was never attributed to him in the first place. Jhoira probably read many of those stories, and when she talked about the "real Jodah," she wanted to hear what exactly he had done and what he hadn't done ... Well, after bow-chika-bow-wow.
Damn, I miss Jeff Grubb.

Hey, Scott. Just finished FS, and as usual, its brilliant work. Thank you for returning to flesh out everyone's favorite bloodthirsty megalomaniacal Keldon, as well as giving more personality to my favorite character in Magic, Jeska. A question for you, is it tougher to create ideas for a story from scratch, or to build upon someone else's idea?
Does anyone know what planes were visited when the two planeswalkers are dueling toward the end of Future Sight?
The first one sounded like Ravnica, the second was unquestionably Mercadia, but what about the last two?
They sounded like Serra's Realm and whereever Homelands takes place, but I thought both of those were destroyed?
Kamigawa (the Yin-Yang shaped plane) and Ulgrotha (the one with the vampires) are definitely in there, however. Or at least that's my opinion after hearing from others. I probably missed Mercadia somewhere in that reading - lots of stuff happening.
Question to Scott and I hope this wasn't already answered...
After a certain someone dies at the end of Future Sight we see them in this other place with another person (keeping it vague because of spoilers for now). Now my question is - Is there a plane that's just full of dead spirits or is this just something like our version of an afterlife?
Jeff's work is alive and thriving in Guild Wars. He is the embedded writer doing story creation and continuity on the ArenaNet design team that worked on Guild Wars Nightfall and Guild Wars: Eye of the North.
It's been great working with him and other WotC ex-pats here at ArenaNet.
Wait, Guildwars has a plot now? That's news to me. Maybe I should take a look. It has to be better than the trash they call lore in Warcraft these days.

I don't know if this was already discussed, but I was wondering if Leshrac is dead. Was he killed when he was used to seal the rift, or was he just diminished like Teferi or Windgrace?
Also, Bolas mentioned after the battle with Leshrac that Night's Reach was still alive. Was she killed when Bolas destroyed her mask to seal the rift?

Those who don't play Magic for the flavor would probably be better off playing Poker instead.

Leshrac is confirmed dead.
Night's Reach is still alive and working (theorised to be involved in the next set)
Dude try not to spoil plots to others who haven't read the book. this is a no spoiler thread:p.(at least future sight)
Anyway, Mr. McG how what did windgrace do just before he sacrificed himself to the rift? It seems that he did what Bolas did and imprinted himself in his domain... So is his spirit still there, and is if he is like a spirit will he still be able to contact his anybody when they are in Urborg similar to what Bolas was able to do? or is he really catnip?:D
I interpreted Windgrace's actions as much less permanent than Bolas. Bolas was able to completely reform himself. I think Windgrace just left an imprint. He might be able to return, for a time, but I think he'd steadily lose power and fade away.

Thanks. I'm actually satisfied with the answer. It's the sensible one (continuity-wise) I was hoping for.
I can answer this- Yavimaya stands exactly where part of Argoth used to be. The Yavimayan rift is the Argothian rift.
The island/mainland issue woudn't matter, since all of Terisiare was rearranged by the Sylex Blast, and later by the Ice Age.

Why does Yavimaya have a rift?
Two possible reasons:
1) Sylex blast, that happened near it, in Argoth.
2) Multani's teleportation of a whole part of Yavimaya to Urborg during Apocalypse.
Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)
I just finished Future Sight, and found it to be the best in the cycle. I do have one question though:
Spoilers!
At the end when Jhoira goes to stay with Jodha, she said: "You are Jodah...but you are not that Jodah. Are you?"
Jodah answers: "I never was," Jodah said. He took the mirror and let it drop to his side. "And I doubt he ever was, either."
Mr. McGough, is this the genuine Jodah from the Ice Age novels, or something from the time rifts?
And, yes, Yavimaya's rift was caused by the Goltgothian Sylex blast.
Scott, I asked a while back what was the ancient event near the Talon Gates that was so important (mentioned way back in Legends II). For clarity's sake, was the event mentioned in Future Sight between the big ugly monster and you-know-who the event in question?

I don't want to squelch discussion, but please don't take it personal if I can't respond to direct questions in a timely fashion.
I'll do my best to catch up as soon as I can.
