my reason is I bought from a guy on ebay awhile back, and he included this letter thanking me for being one of his first buyers and to thank me he included a free card. I went straight to the cards hoping to find something useful, instead I found an italian version of reki. not exactly thrilled.

That's just crazy! Especially with all of the cheap legendary spells since Kamigawa block. It lets you draw for each one played, which completely draws out my samurai deck. My pick for this thread however is from the same block as Reki, Untaidake, the Cloud Keeper sucks so hard light can't escape the vacuum. Pain lands can be nice when they actually give you options and don't come in tapped. What a piece of crap.

I don't think untaidake is any worse than reki...in fact I think that it is better as their are way more expensive game breaking legends that one would want to accelerate into than cheap legends that one would draw cards off of.

What about Oath of Mages. That card really does nothing to help you; most likely it will help the opponent more.
It is true...while I have decks functioning around the Blue, White and Black oaths, there's just no way to really break the Red one. Though it might be interesting in multiplayer if everyone wants to gang up on one person who's ahead.
I'm not sure of the purpose of this card....he cant attack nor block
Norin is actually pretty fun in the right casual deck. He is hilarious with Confusion in the Ranks. Every turn he pops back in on your side and you get to snag the best creature on the board again. He also sets off CIP triggers all day long and can be difficult to get rid of. Not bad for R.
It's really hard to argue against Sorrow's Path. But Wood Elemental is pretty much asinine.
I mean imagine, on turn 7 Wood Elemental is a 3/3 vanilla. That costs you half your lands. And you're tapped out. And forced to look at self-mocking artwork.
uh what? you sure you read that one right? cheaper creatures are always handy..sure its casting cost is stupidly high but come one.
Ditto. All magic cards with a colorless casting cost are a little overcosted. Most artifacts in general are. This is because there is so much fixing and trickery for artifacts, that you rarely have to hard-cast an artifact for six.
Put the gate in a deck with some etherium sculptors and you're throwing out engines, chimeras and golems for 0.
A cycle of rares I never understood were the invasion jewel leeches. Sapphire Leech is at least a 2/2 flier for 2... but ruby leech and alabaster leech? I'm trying to think of a combo for these rares, but I cant.
I think worse rares (sorrow's path) have been posted, but for originality, my vote is for the leeches.

I'll be sad if people don't start calling The Chain Veil "Fleetwood Mac."

This works better against monocolor decks.
Say, red. DonateAlabaster Leech to your opponent. Cast Sleight of Mind and change "white" to red. Now the monored player must pay W for all of his red spells

Jade Leech saw some play as a sideboard card because of it's fat behind.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
Aladdin's Lamp is one of my favorite all time cards. Roshean the Meander = Sage Owl every turn. I run it when I can in EDH. Most people won't mind if you Tinker for it.

Everyone is talking about how Mudhole is one of the worst rares ever. I disagree completely! A "worst rare ever" nomination must have absolutely no purpose, other than to annoy/screw over the spell's caster. Mudhole is extremely effective against a deck based around Crucible of Worlds.

It has its uses. Makes HotP useless.
The only one that gets in my head atm is Mudhole.
Agreed

I'll throw another vote on the Sorrow's Path pile.
- Essentially useless ability
- Costs a land drop and can't tap for colorless mana
- Ridiculous drawback for using said ability

Also, MaGo made a deck for Sorrow's Path a while ago, it was the wincon i believe (in some way).
