I need a little help with some deck building.. I know there is alot of sites out there with the purpose for it.. but I spent almost all night trying and still am trying...
My brother built this green and white deck and from what I seen he built his cards around where it removes lands and enchantments and artifacts, and his lands makes his creatures not targeted by spell ( which I think he only has 4 lands of that type, but Ive seen him playing it every turn, I think its cavern of souls ), his creatures has hex proof and also some of his creatures has effects with land removal.
- If he has Cavern of souls out and I counter spell it, before it reach the battlefield is it countered? also with hex proof?
- Is there any counters where I can challenge hex proof? or lands destroying or cavern of souls?
( I am a big fan of white and blue.. I was also tempted to do white blue and green but I heard its extremely hard to play)
I really like playing White and Blue , do I need to change colors to even have a chance against his deck? Do I need to spend money also? well besides from buying the basic booster or box, I mean from buying singles? I know my brother been bragging he spent alot of money on some cards..
You can't counter a land. In any case, Cavern of Souls doesn't stop your creatures from being targeted, only from being countered.
Counterspells can hit hexproof creatures. Ghost Quarter and Tectonic Edge are good lands to destroy other lands (also Wasteland and Strip Mine but they might be out of your budget range).
White/blue/green isn't "hard" to play, but adjusting to 3 colours is harder for some people.
It sounds like you can just play a good control deck to beat your brother; that can be white and blue. Consider playing cards like Iona, Shield of Emeria as strong finishers, with lots of counterspells and cards like Day of Judgment to survive that long.
Ghost Quarter can destroy the Cavern of Souls, your opponent will get a basic land, you get his non-basic gone but nothing else.
Glaring Spotlight says "What is hexproof? I can see it." and lets you target his creatures as if they did not have hexproof. Additionally, if he tries to spot remove something of yours, three mana while his spell or ability is on the stack, and your creatures GAIN hexproof until the end of the turn. That is one cheaper than using Restoration Angel to flicker it.
You have tools at your disposal.

Is this strictly casual or are you trying to build a deck in a certain format like Legacy, Standard, etc.?
If you're in white/blue you have tons of things you can do but without knowing what you have or are trying to build around it's hard to offer suggestions other than what was said. Ghost Quarter, Glaring Spotlight, and good counterspells are a good start against him.
Thank you for quick response back, this deck is just standard, playing against family and friends and annoying brothers..
I would like to note in one turn he was able to remove 4 lands from my battle field, he was using green creature when it comes into play destroy target land and he exile with cloud shift and repeated it, and I couldn't counter any abilities..
creature: acidic slime : when creature enters the battlefield destroy target land , artifact, or enchantment.
Is Exile considered to be a sacrifice? I got a white card angel jubilation, player cant not pay life or sacrifice creatures to gain life or use abilities
If you are willing to go just a step past Standard format (since it is casual), drop a Torpor Orb as early as you can. Then the Acidic Slime won't destroy anything at all.

Uh, no, sacrifice means sacrifice. If it doesn't say sacrifice, it isn't sacrificing.
Oh, I can do some shenanigans with Acidic Slime with just a few other cards.
Firstly, you can cheat it in with an Elvish Piper for G.
Secondly, you can Cloudshift it to get the ETB effect again. So, now we are at GW.
If you have Riku of the Two Reflections on the battlefield, you can make a token copy either, or both of the times it comes into play for UG, bringing the total cost so far to destroy 3 lands to GGWU. (four costs one or two more, depending on how you do it, Cloudshift or another token).
You can then populate, the cheapest populate spell is either 1G or two hybrid WG. So, for a total of six mana, you can destroy 4 lands, EASILY.
For Modern Legal, substitute Cackling Counterpart for the Riku interaction, increasing the total CMC of the chain of events by one.
Cavern of Souls is hard to play around but Acidic Slime is only a 2/2 Deathtouch that usually kills one of your lands, but he also costs five mana.
Acidic Slime in a Junk Rites shell can actually cause a lot of problems for Standard players. Having 4 Acidic Slime, 4 Unburial Rites, and 3-4 Resto Angel can cause problems for multicolor decks (read: most decks in Standard) or lead to small Sphinx's Revelation. I think of the card as nearly an autowin vs. Esper if in bunches.
I will admit that occasionally it is overestimated though.

Yeah, I played my Esper Control deck against a buddy's fairly janky Four-Colour Rites/Seance deck the other day. He mains four Acidic Slime and a Sylvan Primordial or two. I was subjected to Slime, Slime, Primordial starting on turn three off of Faithless Looting>Farseek>flashback Rites>etc, I had no chance. Fortunately Rest in Peace and Purify the Grave out of the board switches the match from an almost impossible game one for me to an almost impossible game two and three for him.
...not only is the total number of players expanding very quickly, but at the same time a greater and greater number of those players are being pushed to only desire a small subset of the available cards. These combined forces drastically increase demand for those cards and cause the values of just those specific cards to often balloon out of proportion.

Purify the Grave is very good vs. Reanimator types. The problem is that they can midrange you out, Slime you out, or Unburial Rites you to win. Slime on land or RIP is really good.
The Seance deck is probably worse vs. Hate than Junk Rites.
