The plane that I most wish to see revisited is Dominaria, as that plane is the center of the M:tG universe, where the story began, and with the twentieth anniversary of this game approaching, now is an excellent time to revisit it, although the fact that it was revisited in the Time Spiral may preclude it from being revisited again in the near future.
There are also several other planes that I wish to see revisited, as well. The first is Ulgrotha, the setting of Homelands. Although I am not familiar with the story of that set, I know that the set itself was unpopular, but I also know that Baron Sengir, the main antagonist of that setting, is a very popular and iconic character in the game, and I have heard that the story left the possibility for a continuation at a later date. The next is Kamigawa, as I greatly enjoyed that plane, and I would like to see a greater amount ofJapanese/Asian elements and influence in this game. The third plane is Rabiah, the setting of the Arabian Nights expansion, which was the very first expansion ever to this game and has not ever been revisited, and has scarcely ever been mentioned, since its introduction in 1994.

Revisit? Kamigawa. C'mon, ninjas and samurais and legendary heroes and dragons and kirins, I mean that's where it's at. Maybe they could bring Goku and Vegeta in there somehow. But I'd rather they visit Iquatana from The Æther Flues Planechase card.

I'd rather see Magic forge into new planes than revisit old ones. Particularly ones that I've had my fill with.
If I had to choose one, I'd rather see another Ice Age plane that brings back snow covered things/mana. I think it could be done a lot better and more elegant now. Honestly, it would have been more fun if "Time Spiral" block was a traditional block and Coldsnap was one of the sets within that block.
That being said, I would love to see another Planar Chaos style set with the color pie taking different directions.
I would also like to see a return to Lorwyn/Shadowmoor.

I just want people who redraft to admit this:
"I can't draft objectively unless I am able to guarantee that I receive at least 3 rares. I am also better than most average/new players so I want to make sure that I get the best rares and they end up with worse ones. I care more about the monetary value of cards than actually playing the game for decent prizes."
Not really a "revisit", even though we've seen glimpses of them, but I'd love to see the planechase planes. Especially the one with the Mage Rings (Belenon, I think)
Return to Arabia, and give us (at least functional if limited by stupid reprint policy) reprint of Bazaar, Library of Alexandra, Island of Wak-Wak etc:)
I have had my fill of unpronounceable Asian-type names from the first time around. God drafting the block was a nightmare of linguistics and magical cardboard. The only people who liked that block when it was around were the anime fanboys. Some people also found it to be pretty racist.
I would actually prefer new blocks, considering we have rehashed old ones in 2 out of the 3 last blocks. A dwarf set/block would be pretty sweet.
Zendikar by far. I belive the most OMGZ creatures are currently eating the place alive and i dont wanna wait another 8 years before we see the aftermath.

Since the original block was such a flop in terms of game play and power level, I know it will never happen... but I would love to see them revisit Kamigawa. I really enjoyed the story of that block, even if the novels were horribly edited.
I don't watch anime but I still thought it was a fun and interesting block. Do you think maybe you're imposing your opinion on everyone else?
That's stupid. Seriously frakkin' stupid.
I am saying when it came out, just from my experience.
Obviously not EVERYONE who enjoyed the block was an anime fanboy, I am just saying this is what I observed while drafting the block.
The block was racist. Straight up, in many cases, obviously so.
It overplayed asian stereotypes, and many people felt like it was poking fun at asian culture. Along with the unpronounceable names, the block encouraged more racist discussions at draft tables/LGSs then any other magic block I have ever drafted, not close. My LGS store owner had to tell people to tone it down multiple times throughout this block because the discussions got so bad.

So the cards were racist because some of the people playing the game were racist? And what Asian stereotypes or aspects of Asian culture were being made fun of? Ninjas and samurai were prominent and celebrated in the block, not lampooned. And those are aspects of Japanese culture that are still popular and celebrated to this day. So where id the racism? Unpronounceable names? How is that unique to Kamigawa? And how is it racist? Are Tolkien novels racist to Nordic and Celtic culture because the names in his novels are unpronounceable?
Seriously, calling that black racist is objectively stupid.
Seriously, calling that black racist is objectively stupid.
How Freudian.
But the block was racist: In Kamigawa, ALL the foxes are white. ALL the rats are Black, ALL the snakes are green, ALL the moonfolk were blue, and ALL the goblins were red!

What's the big deal? You could have played multiple Righteous Avengers for years now.
But the block was racist: In Kamigawa, ALL the foxes are white. ALL the rats are Black, ALL the snakes are green, ALL the moonfolk were blue, and ALL the goblins were red!
So it's racist against fictional creatures and wildlife?
I have had my fill of unpronounceable Asian-type names from the first time around. God drafting the block was a nightmare of linguistics and magical cardboard. The only people who liked that block when it was around were the anime fanboys.
I hate anime and love that block. I don't see how a Japanese-influenced setting means only anime fanboys like it; there is a lot more to Japan than just anime.
Also, most of the pronunciation was pretty easy if you just did it phonetically. Funny enough, the name I had most trouble with was the plain English Pithing Needle.
Along with the unpronounceable names, the block encouraged more racist discussions at draft tables/LGSs then any other magic block I have ever drafted, not close. My LGS store owner had to tell people to tone it down multiple times throughout this block because the discussions got so bad.
This has nothing to do with the block and everything to do with your LGS.
So it's racist against fictional creatures and wildlife?
Did I mention how this is objectively stupid?
Well this will be my last response to you broheim.
You still don't seem to understand the fact that WHEN THE BLOCK WAS ACTUALLY IN ROTATION, people would come across names they could not say, proceed to say them in some asian accent and then mass asian bashing would begin. This happened frequently, almost everywhere I drafted this block.
The set was racist because it overemphasized all this asian culture stuff and people felt compelled to make fun of it. Just because EDH guys love samurai's and ninja's now does not mean that people who actually drafted the block thought the same way.
If you don't understand that making an asian block can (and did) result in racism when its exposed to the super mature magic crowd, then I simply can't help you.
Wow. There is some serious butt-hurtedness going on here.
Silvos - The "freudian" thing was a poke at the fact that you had a typo, and that typo, in a sentence that was talking about racism, was the word "black" instead of "block". It wasn't a jab, it was a joke. Ease up just a bit.
Galgamation - If Kamigawa was a racist block, was P3K also a racist set? It, too, was based on Asian culture. The Kamigawa block was actually based on Japanese myths, so, if it was racist, then the Japanese culture could be called that as well. Just because it does not fit with your opinion of what should be does not mean it is racist. Just because people sitting around a draft table with you are less than sensitive does not mean that the subject matter they are mocking is the root of the problem. Next, you will tell me that Roots is also a racist story.
Just because people took a cultural literacy deficiency and used it as an excuse to be racist themselves does not mean that the material is racist. Did the block portray Japanese in a negative manner? Or did the idiots you drafted with portray themselves in a negative manner? Seems like you are projecting the fact that the latter occurred onto the intentions of the former. And that is a logical fallacy. Was the internment of the Japanese Americans in WWII a bad thing? Yes. Was it because of racism? Yes. THAT is racism. Don't take the adaptation of a story that BELONGS to a culture and say that is someone else being racist against the culture the story came from. It does not compute.
Well this will be my last response to you broheim.

This thought process is baffling. Just because people act in a childish and ignorant manner regarding a topic does not make the topic racist. Is that really your argument?

So if some white people hear rap music and start saying racist things about black people, does that make rap music racist against black people?
Do you see why your logic is not logical at all?
This thought process is baffling. Just because people act in a childish and ignorant manner regarding a topic does not make the topic racist. Is that really your argument?
No, the argument is that the block promoted racism when it was in rotation.
That's it. Intentionally or not, I have never seen more racism come out of any magical cardboard set as with Kamigawa. It was not one LGS or even one city, or even one country. I traveled to many magic events, as this was when I was most active playing competitively, and it was the same story everywhere I went.
I did not play in Arabian Nights or P3K era so I have no idea about those sets.
All I know is that Kamigawa produced a lot of asian bashing.

I 100% agree with this, wizards teased Grandeur back in Future Sight nearly 5 and a half years ago. It's time that it becomes a real mechanic.
