With the vampire deck, for $25 you get:
4!! dismember (these alone almost cover the cost of the deck)
2 bloodghast
1 kalastria highborn
1 verdant catacombs (there isnt even any green in the deck, its like they just threw it in for value)

It should be eventually, but dismember only goes for 3-3.5 tickets on mtgo so I don't know if it would be worth it
Well even then. 12 Tics off the Dismembers, at least a good $10 off the Ghasts, a couple off of Kalastria, and what, 8-11 for Verdant, and maybe 3 or more tics off the good commons?
The prices on all the cards are gonna drop in response obviously, but it saves me money and time (as I'm looking for Ghasts and the Verdant, and can find use for the commons/uncommons).
Still no clue about when it'll hit MTGO though? And thus, I wait.

also you can buy verdant catacombs from bots for ~4 tix and bloodghast for ~3 tix
its still a reasonable value on mtgo, but in paper you get about $50 worth of cards (not counting the inevitable drop in prices due to the printing of the deck)
Barring massive reprints in innistrad, that deck is horrible..sure it plays well but it will rotate in about two months. I would much rather see a worse deck with cards that will be around for a year or more.

Considering the nature of the event decks you are correct. They are intended for standard play. However, for guys like me who are casual players but really want certain cards (especially for EDH) this will be awesome.
Wow, that's actually an amazing value, I would have expected it to be 35 bucks (especially with 4 Dismembers which are currently going for like 6 bucks a piece), but I guess with most of the current Vampire staples rotating out they couldn't charge that much for it. Might buy the illusion deck, too, but why it only comes with 3 Phantasmal Dragons instead of 4 is beyond me.
Its not the best value in a precon deck. Yes does it involve a bunch of decently priced cards but Verdant catacombs sees little play and its competing with NPH War of Attrition. Having two guaranteed staples in legacy, modern, and previously standard it was by far and away the best one they could have made.

It's still a damn good deal, considering you get what is currently $20 in Standard Staple Removal, $10 in Legacy/T2 playable Beaters, and some decently valued commons. It's better than the Illusions deck (which is unplayable, and this is coming from a guy who spends hours building Illusions)

Well, then you're in luck! The other event deck is completely post-rotation legal save 4x Preordain*, and is not just worse, but an absurdly worse deck than this one!
*Why they put Preordain in there instead of Ponder, I will never know.
These will be a massive value bomb, although verdant catacombs will probably drop in value, at which point I will purchase plenty, fetchlands are -always- valuable.

Really? Catacombs isn't played at all? What about Legacy, EDH, casual, Standard, soon Modern, and Extended?
War of Attrition has 2 Stoneforge, which are now $10 each. This thing has 4 Dismember, 2 Bloodghast, 1 Highborn, 1 Catacombs, and tons of other stuff. In WOA, only Mystic sees eternal and Standard play. In this one, the following see eternal and standard play:
They literally could not have packed this thing with more value without making it RB Vampires.
Carlysle, Catacombs won't drop. Inkmoth, GSZ, etc didn't drop when they came out because they're only 1-ofs. 1-ofs, especially eternally playable and highly tradeable one ofs, won't be affected when they're released in this sort of deck.
Holy cow. Never bought one of these, but that vamp deck looks nice. I might "casualize" it a bit and throw in Drana or Captivating Vampire or some funny stuff.

Modern: B/W Tokens

Will buy it if I can. You know if the product is available in MTGO?

EDIT
Nevermind. Must have overlooked the link in the OP. Definitely want that Vampire deck.

Good luck finding it for $25.00...most store automatically mark them up to about $10.00 more than that right when they are released.
yea I accidentally hit the img button instead of the link button but I fixed it

I've actually never seen a Event Deck at a Target... I think they are made JUST for stores that run events.
I saw an event deck at Wal-Mart last night... just saying
Ah! Well there you go. I've never seen it myself, but that's good news.
