Hah. If Sifa resembles Liliana like some of you say, I'm wondering what happens when Garruk shows up and sees her instead of Liliana!
You know, that might very well be a plot point... seems a bit convieniant otherwise. Kill the girl no one cares about, make a new planeswalker conflict, keep Lili alive through the drama...
the artifact talk seems to be out of line in a non artifact block, even if thats part of his nature. What we've been seeing much of is a looting ability for red recently, so I would not be surprised if he gets a good basic impulse like ability on him. but it's real hard to speculate what a walker would do when as of now we have no idea what the set's theme is.
He also takes about being a spell thief and using his psychometry to lift spells off of the items he steals... which sounds like a very Izzet thing to do.

But he's not from Ravnica, he's just made it his current homebase.
sure but he can lake that guild alot,or get power from it.
What would he have to do with the Izzet? They may share colors and possibly even some similar motivations, but they're involved in totally different things. The Izzet focus on academic research, experimentation, and engineering/technology. Dack steals magical artifacts (different from the sort of magitech the Izzet use) and learns spells from them. There's not really much overlap in their activities. And it would step on the toes of Ral Zarek even more, if he did have any connection to the Izzet.
Not everything having to do with Ravnica is guild-related, especially since they aren't the uncontested rulers of the plane anymore.
Dack may not have anything to do with stealing artifacts-as far as his planeswalker abilities, I mean. It seems to me he only uses them as a means to an end, not an end to a means (ala Tezzeret).
He could be 3 colors, and we don't know his 3rd affiliation yet. Possibly a reason for the comic, to show this change.
He is obviously UR. If his 3rd color was B, then he'd be the same colors as Bolas and that's unimaginative. Although WOTC has stated they won't avoid awkwardness like that. Of W and G, W is really the only option left and W does care about artifacts.
I'm still baffled as to why everyone is assuming he's UR.
Ral Zarek is clearly UR, you think they're going to have 2 of the same enemy colour - a combination rarely done anyway - planeswalker, released in consecutive blocks?
Since when is Ral Zarek 100% confirmed for the next block? We don't even know anything about Hook yet. And in the pre-release information for the expansion to DotP Zarek was in, they called him a Duels of the Planeswalkers exculsive character (although that could have meant "he's only in this at the moment").
So I guess I'm just as baffled by this post as you are by others'.

Not to mention that he wasn't featured in that "Planeswalker lineup" poster that was everywhere this year, where the Merfolk Planeswalker is. I would think she's just as likely as anyone at this point.

Dack Fayden, in the first issue of his comic, uses blue magic (an invisibility/concealment spell) and red magic (melts the lock on a door to keep it shut).
There is no evidence suggesting with any degree of certainty that Dack Fayden OR Ral Zarek are going to be printed as cards at any point in the near future.

In fairness, that's just what color magic he uses. His ability of psychometry means he can learn spells that artifacts are capable of, so he might KNOW a lot of different colors of magic.

True. However, the fact that this is his debut appearance makes it unlikely that the magic he's seen using is misleading with regard to his favored color(s).

By the same merit, Jace is perfectly capable of casting minor white healing spells, but that doesn't make him white.
The colors of magic are still different than the core colors of the character. It's just a fallacy to assume they are always interchangeable.
Jace was first introduced in a medium other than his first novel; we first learned about him and the other four debut planeswalkers via website, and then on their Lorwyn cards. The basics of Jace's character had been introduced and established before Agents of Artifice had been released (and did specifically mention that he was dabbling in white and/or black magic, though he was still fundamentally blue).
With Dack, his comic is our first introduction. We don't have a character summary released beforehand informing us of his primary color(s). We have just the comic itself to fill that role. So it makes far more sense for that very first appearance of his character to accurately convey that basic information, such as the color or colors of mana that he primarily makes use of.

Yes, but first impressions are hardly a solid statement towards the character's nature. The walker bios on the mothership do a terrible job at conveying the depth and intricacies of a character, so all I'm saying is that though your first impression may be formed, there could quite likely be far more complexity to Dack that can't be summed up by "he cast two spells, so he must be those colors."
But even then, I'm mostly playing Devil's Advocate here. Just saying it might not be best to make snap judgements about Dack based on his spellwork when we've been explicitly told his spellwork is to adopt the spells of artifacts he has touched. Besides that, his personality is hard to gauge from issue 1. I don't know what colors I'd place him in quite yet.
Do I think he could be U/R? Yeah, I do. But I want more evidence than a pair of spells before I make that conclusion.

What about the fact that he's a thief with chaotic tendencies that seeks knowledge? That's pretty much the exact description of U/R to me.

It was available at mine this week.
.. to Nicol Bolas..
It strikes me as though he doesn't typically sell the things he steals.
I would expect his card version to have some sort of Control Magic ability. If it doesn't, I'll be very much disappointed.
