I know this is kind of old, but would it be faor to assume Tezz is returning Very soon?
And would it be fair to assume he will be U/B or U/R?
These statements derive from reading the storyline comics on the mothership of course.

~Intelligence is Bliss; Ignorance is Denial.
Skill is an ability that relates more so to the type of deck that's built and how said player pilots it. It also relates to the ability to assess the board and use the cards available to you in the most optimal way relative to each situation.
When a deck is filled with above par cards and every play is solid, there comes a diminishing need to "think" for the lack of wanting to use a better word.
Considering the last 2 "middle" expansion sets (Conflux, Worldwake), each had a powerful solo Planeswalker, so either Karn or Tezz maybe the one coming in the second set of this block.
Tezz for 2nd, because he's "known" and that's when Phyrexia is going to increase its grip on Mirrodin. Karn is probably a 3rd set guy if he's colorless when he's forced to fight and deal with Phyrexia.

Didn't they say Elspeth vs. Tezzeret is supposed to feature two 'walkers that are involved in the new Mirrodin block? I seem to recall something like that.
Up until the revelation of Venser everybody thought Tezz was a given and would be included in SoM. Now that we have our cast set up (and the Quest for Karn as an additional "surprise" awaiting us) I can't believe they Nicroll us again by having Tezz try to monitor the remergence of the Phyrexians for Big B. The Dragon and his Null should have to sit this one out.
Perhaps Tezz will see the power of Phyrexia and defect from Bolas to become the new god of Phyrexia. Could he possibly go to the grave of Yawgmoth or perform some sort of ritual to infuse himself with Yawgmoth's powers Arthas to Lich King style?

If the captain is correct, what would be the abilities of a UB Tezzeret?
Probably still artifact-related, but in which way?
+X: destroy target nonartifact creature
-Y: return target artifact creature from your graveyard to your hand.
-Z (ultimate): Target player sacrifices all nonartifact, nonland permanents.
probably not the best option, but all I could think of right now.
Flip the + and - abilities you have. Make them +1, -3. Make his ultimate cost -8 and his starting loyalty 3...and MAYBE.
Lol the only way tez would join phyrexia would be as their leader any one familiar with him would know he doesnt bow to anyone and the only reason he does to bolas is he has no choice. So no he wont be phyrexian. Maybe he will help them but he will never join them.

SonofaBith - Wizards was so excited about making the packaging for Modern Masters 2 recyclable, they decided to make most of the rares and all but 1 of the UC's recycle-bin ready too. Convenient!
