T1: island, hedron crab(any 1 drop blue creature)
T2: island, 2 more 1 drop blue creatures
T3: island, Grand Architect, tap 2 creatures for 4 colorless, drop Prototype Portal, imprint Mindslaver.
T4: island, tap 3 guys for 6 colorless, Token of Mindslaver, tap 4 lands, activate mindslaver. Wash Rinse Repeat.
Still only a stopgap until you can get a Mindslaver lock with the Portal, and even then not likely to be a very good one since we've already seen enough cards spoiled to know that Standard is going to skew artifact-heavy. The golem isn't likely to significantly set opponents back.
Actually, Lodestone would be pretty good. Imagine this:
T2 Ramp (chalice, myr, w/e)
T3 portal with Lodestone imprinted
T4 lodestone
T5 lodestone
t6 lodestone
etc., etc.
Every turn your opponent needs one more mana to do stuff. Against control decks with no ramp, that means that if they're on the draw, they can never play Wrath, Jace, etc. - it will always cost one more mana than they have. Meanwhile, you have a stream of 5/3s, and your own artifacts (after the 4 mana golem each turn).
Eldrazi Monument and portal on any artifact creature (or a spellbomb) seems good.
As a connoisseur of fun, interesting matches, I still to this day have not been able to craft that "perfect deck"; the deck that I can play and have fun over time, doesn't get boring, but simultaneously is fun to play against. I honestly don't think it exists. It's like a unicorn. A ninja unicorn.
This just in! Mindslaver lock is the worst deck EVER on MTGO.
Your opponent will just make you play out the rest of the game until your time runs out. Time is pretty limited as is...
Board
Steel Overseer (bolt protection)
Darksteel Sentinel (anti-whatever...wait til control taps out, then drop)
Sword of Vengeance (if you need trample)
So is the counter worth it, with all the Lodestone action? Wurmcoil Engine is a great creature and should be included, especially with the potential to get one out each turn. All is Dust is a no-brainer.
anyone making a a prototype portal deck without voltaic key is really missing out. you should be running large numbers of artifacts anyway, and 2 mana create a voltaic key seems really broken. especially with things like everflowing chalice. I also love the elixir of immortality idea. this deck could be run in green to abuse something like ancient stirrings, or u/b with tezzeret, agent of bolas to make your infinite artifact army into a weapon itself and access the ridiculous card advantage he provides.
Spellbombs seem like a good way to generate good amounts of card advantage too.
Origin - 1/1 and card for 2W per turn
Panic - cant block and card (but in a color without good draw, still worthless to us)
Horizon - guaranteed land drop and a draw every turn for 3G
Flight - flying and a card for 1U (very cheap which i like, but almost as bad as panic)
Nihil - 1B to remove yard and draw per turn.
Analysis - origin spellbomb is the most useful, while flight or nihil are reasonably costed. Horizon could be beast, but this needs some testing.
Well, Prototype Portal plus Everflowing Chalice and Voltaic Key could be an infinite mana combo. Chalice with n counters, exile the key with the portal, tap the chalice, pay for the key, untap the chalice, you have n-2 mana left. Wash, rinse and repeat.
I hope ya know what to do with the infinite mana

Oh, I failed.
So I need something that untaps two artifacts simultaneously, which is slightly harder.
Another way would be Myr combo, but it should work well without the portal.
I suggest you use two prototype portals, so that you can use the first to make multiple prototype portals.
Use ONE of those prototype portal tokens to create multiple Ever flowing Chalice tokens.
Then use another prototype portal token to create Unwinding Clock or something of that nature.
I started out saving it all up till I had 20 mana, and made my frirst ever flowing chalice token with 10 kicker on it.
buy using it and drawing more mana I was eventually able to produce 386 mana in 53 turns, but I wasn't using unwinding clock or an untap card I was simply waiting till it was my turn again. If you had Sword of Feast and Famine and were making tokens of it, you could be untapping all your lands everytime you attack so... maybe that'd help.
I'm looking for a better way to untap the lands and the artifacts so I can keep growing at an even rate, but if all you're doing is unlocking the artifacts... you could start using JUST your high level chalices and probably still make a tidy amount of mana really quickly.

Well Myr do the trick allready with the Untap guys and mana myrs.
You can easily use a Battlesphere and Clock of Omens if you wish.

T4 win...with a god hand and draws of course.
I wouldn't. But I'm pretty stubborn, and admittedly a bit of a sore loser, so yeah. I would totally make my opponent play it out.

because only Standard matters, DUH!
seriously though, there are so many better things to copy than what's being suggested in this thread...
but i most definitely like the idea of the jinxed idol. i think this is exactly what can put the deck on the map.
i mean it'll be hilarious if it does.
mindslaver is so boring...
I like Turtles
lol distortion strike would be so sick

I'd say, anything that can proliferated might be helpful.
Tezzeret may enjoy a prototype deck.
WBG Karador GBW

WRG Modern Burn GRW

I also think this could be useful with living weapon artifacts alongside lodestone golem etc. Steel overseer seems somewhat abusable as well. maybe Pierce strider or peace strider
