I kinda like Increasing Savagery. Not sure why, but the alpha strike potential on this card is pretty sweet. It's either this or Fires of Undeath, Briarpack Alpha, and Wolfhunter's Quiver. When in doubt, I'm going to take the rare =P
Briarpack Alpha needs to stop being in these polls. I can see an argument for either Savagery or Fires, but I doubt the consistency of the former and think Briarpack is still much better than the latter.
Briarpack alpha again. It's just too good. Increasing Savagery would be the next pick, since it's also pretty strong in limited. I personally just really dislike Fires of Undying, since it's so expensive, but a deck with limited access to removal would probably play it just for the first shock. I wouldn't first pick it, though.
After Briarpack and Savagery, I think I'd go with the Hallowhenge spirit. The card just seems pretty versatile, and I'm a fan of white in this block.
Take your monoblack deck, then set aside 14 swamps. Add 4 Creeping Tar Pits, 4 Darkslick Shores, 4 Drowned Catacombs, and 2 Jwar isle Refuge and add 4 Jace, the Mindsculptors. Your monoblack deck is instantly better. Better yet, drop those refuges, throw in some islands and some mana leaks, and lo and behold, you're now playing a real deck. Congratulations. Welcome to the world of competitive M:TG.
The Alpha is just a great chance for 2 for 1. It is like removal for green and just such a strong pick. I can't really justify anything else to myself.

"You are what you pretend to be, so you must be careful what you pretend to be" from Mother Night
There's only 3 real choices in this pack. Increased Savagery, Briarpack Alpha and Fires of Undeath.
Personally I pick Fires on Undeath, both the other cards are decent but they are both in green which is not all that great a draft colour and if you take one of them the person you pass to will likely take the 2nd pushing them also into green and making you fight over the 2nd pack. Whereas by taking Fires you get a powerful removal spell and quite likely push the next 2 drafters into green.

Are you trolling us? I don't want to "force the next 2 drafters into green" so that I can play red and green is most certainly not a bad color in this format. In fact, it's quite possibly the most powerful color with White as the only real competition. Not only that, but you are talking about a two color spell on a first pick instead of a single color spell which is more powerful.
I just don't understand your post at all...

I agree with almost completely (Green is a good draft color, but the card evaluation and signaling is sound).

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.
Briarpack and Savagry are going to force the guy to your left into green if you pick either. There is nothing else pickable in red. So I'll be taking Fires of Undeath and prevent getting cut pack 2.
Savagery is probably the best card in a vacuum, but as previously noted fires sends all the right signals; plus, the nearhearth stalker could likely table and I'd happily take him late.
Idk though, it's hard because the rare looks so much fun.
I'm personally shocked to see that I'm the only vote on Deadly Allure so far - it's been an amazing card in testing.
Turns anything into a Typhoid Rats but in reverse, thus even better - and does it twice. And it's very threatening once it's sitting in the GY afterwards.
A very tough choice, but Briarpack Alpha wins my vote; if your opponent is swinging with two attackers you can potentially two-for-one him/her. Fires of Undeath is a close second (I also like Increasing Savagery).
I think an argument could be made for Hollowhenge Spirit if you REALLY like forcing White, but otherwise it's between Fires of Undeath and Briarpack Alpha. I like taking the Fires here, as there are two good green cards in the pack.
I am picking Briarpack Alpha. I played with him at the pre-release yesterday and he was very swingy. He/It really hit hard on offense (pump spell), but even harder on defense. He's kind of like Nekrataal in that regard. A 5/5 on defense out of nowhere crushes combat. And he leaves behind a Hill Giant. Very playable. Splashable.
Increasing Savagery for me, just narrowly ahead of the Briarpack Alpha.
Savagery is a total bomb, and bombs win limited games. Its only costs 4 mana (the first time) and comes back late game to lay down further beats. Getting 2 for 1'd when trying to cast this card is also not so bad due to the flashback.
tl;dr Huntmaster will see play in sideboard, rarely mainboard, and if you disagree, sig this and feel free to rub it in my face when the time comes. 'Cause I want him to be maindeckable.
I'm with Savagery on the basis you can throw it on a flyer and just win. I've played with Alpha and while I think it's absolutely first-pickable, he usually acts as removal. I prefer to take bombs over removal as first pick, and I believe Savagery is a bomb.
Wow, its almost embarrassing seeing these posts.
Its between the removal Fires of Undeath or Hollowhenge Spirit.
Increasing Savagery is just way too lose. Maybe if it were an instant or your guy had hexproof, other than that, it jsut dies to removal and you just got timewalked.
Removal is always good in limited and fires of undeath hass flashback. 2 removal spells in 1... sign me up.
I believe the spirit is the pick here. Its a better combat trick and has evasion. I like it over the alpha, because if the have a fatty that you cant kill with the pump and block, or the creature thats going to kill you has evasion, you just feel stupid. Also, white is just the ebst color to be in in this format.

Hollowhenge Spirit isn't even in the top 3 cards in the pack. I've done some drafts over the weekend, and it's ok. Not anything special.

an argument could be made for Savagery though, but you have to be lucky enough to bust a Stalker in one of the INN packs to make any real use.

Hopefully we wheel that Deadly Allure, though it's unlikely.
