Really? Can someone explain to me why everyone and their mothers are going bonkers over this.
I understand he is a good card. But how many black white decks are around right now. Just esper. And he doesn't even fit in that deck.
And I don't think hes good enough to just magically create a new archetype.
I dunno, I feel pretty happy if my opponent spends 4 mana to cast something that makes tokens, and gives a permanent pump to dudes.

A planeswalker that protects itself, pumps your dudes, and can crush the game and you don't see why it's good? It can be as good as Elspeth 1.0 in this format.
I'd say he easily fits into Esper Control. adding loyalty to a 3-for-1 ult while cranking out chump blocks that give +1 life every turn is pretty good for a control archetype, especially if it's protecting other planeswalkers while keeping you alive as well.
Take your monoblack deck, then set aside 14 swamps. Add 4 Creeping Tar Pits, 4 Darkslick Shores, 4 Drowned Catacombs, and 2 Jwar isle Refuge and add 4 Jace, the Mindsculptors. Your monoblack deck is instantly better. Better yet, drop those refuges, throw in some islands and some mana leaks, and lo and behold, you're now playing a real deck. Congratulations. Welcome to the world of competitive M:TG.
I could see decks splashing for him. Aggro decks would love the emblem, control would love to get the extra critters and especially have that ultimate go off.
White token decks will gladly splash black for this card. Here is the following heirarchy in a token deck:
+1: Make a dude. Ok, I can deal with that
-2: Perma-Anthem that stacks. Wut?? Hell yea!
-6: Gain control of 3 target creatures/planewalkers. This ability just wins!

Take a mechanic from the pre-mirrodin era, and a mechanic after the mirrodin era, and create a card that flavorfully melds both mechanics.
1. Compare him to Elspeth, Knight Errant. Her most used ability was the 1/1 soldier tokens, and Sorin's tokens are better.
2. He can protect himself.
3. He can stall games and gain you life simultaneously.
4. His second ability affects the game when he's gone, and their's nothing you can do about it.
5. His last ability can win you the game.
I personally believe G/W tokens will change to W/B just for him. Dark Ascension gave W lots of new building materials for tokens. So yeah, there's my thoughts.

Notice how you used the qualifier "right now". There is 133 cards left to be spoiled. While not insane, Sorin will most definitely find a place somewhere.
well, i think your problem is that you are only looking at what decks it can fit into, not what new decks could be made from it.
it would be good in esper but i think b/w could potentially be good in this format as well, with an emphasis on black. liliana is an obvious inclusion.
actually g/w tokens could even splash for him as he produces tokens and the emblem is nice
I don't know about anybody else, but I want him for WB tokens. We have;
Gather the Townsfolk
Midnight Haunting
Intangible Virtue
Geist-Honored Monk/Increasing Devotion
A host of black removal
and now Sorin
All we need is a solid 1 drop discard like Inquisition or Thoughtseize to make the deck.

hate to be a stickler but you gain control of the stuff making his ult a 6 for 1, 6 for 0 if he survives it
Lmao, saying there are "no B/W decks" right now is irrelevant because it seems since this is a DKA card, MORE cards in DKA will support this type of deck. I mean, look at all the white token producers (Thraben Doomsayer) and the black bombs/sac (ravenous demon). They're obviously setting up for a B/W token deck to be viable during DKA, or they wouldn't print a B/W Planeswalker (that produces tokens). He isn't good enough to "produce a new archetype", but him and the 157 other cards in DKA might...
We need to stop using "His/her ultimate just wins games." Well, duh. If you have any planeswalker on the battlefield for 3 turns and it was completely untouched, you are going to win, it doesn't matter if you mill their library, Nicol Bolas them, take their 3 planeswalkers (like that's ever going to happen anyway), one-sided armageddon, etc. This is as bad as the "it dies to removal" argument.
Moving on, this card is good. Pumping out tokens is great whenever the planeswalker doesn't lose loyalty. (Garruk 2.0 and 3.0, Elspeth 1.0) With the big token theme that seems to be present in Innistrad, this guy has a good shot as being the new Ajani. Hopefully, they don't reprint Bitterblossom.
tl,dr: Please, please, please don't shell out $200 for a playset of these. Take someone special bowling or to dinner.
hate to be a stickler but you gain control of the stuff making his ult a 6 for 1, 6 for 0 if he survives it
... bringing the stuff to your side still counts as a 3-for-1. Mind Control, for example, is a 1-for-1. his thing is essentially a weird form of Mind Control.

Not to mention Blade Splicer. I tried to make the deck for Inn and Sorin just makes it perfect. Although a black white mana base is rough.
Love the new Sorin!!! 4 mana and can protect itself? Yea...that's going to be worth money and I don't even care if there is a deck that can't play it right now because it will find a home.
I can't really deny he's good, but something about him doesn't excite me the way Lili or Garruk did in Innistrad. Of course this might change when I play him, but idk
Unless we get better mana-bases in standard... or people going to start shoving Sphere of the Suns and Traveler's Amulet to fix DAT mana... its going to be pretty hard to bring him out. Outside of Standard? Wooooweee! Let the fun begin!

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.
People were skeptical of Elspeth in shards and look how elspeth turned out. Elspeth is the 2nd best planeswalker in the game, and sorin is quite similar to elspeth in that regard. Make a dude while adding loyalty? Check. Pump the team permanently? This removes loyalty but the fact that it is a permanent boost as long as the game goes on is huge. The ultimate is obviously spectacular and will generally win you the game on the spot.
Also, please stop saying "Sorin doesn't fit into any current decks." Well sure. But tomorrow people will start to work on the breaking of this card with the spoiled cards and the other cards available in the cardpool. Expect this guy to see significant play and hype (and yes I believe the hype around this card will be completely justified; this new sorin is ridiculous in terms of powerlevel.)

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."

Toss in some green and get really greedy for Garruk, Birds, and possibly Gavony, but that's already a horrid manabase and I'm not sure if the colorless land is needed.
At the very least, play Sunpetals and Woodland Cemetery's for Garruk.

Cost is prohibitive, the -2 is very bad and against certain control decks that ultimate will just sit there looking bad.
But, still, it makes good tokens. Expect it to see about as much play as Garruk Relentless.
Comparisons to Elspeth, Knight-Errant are very, very distorted and wrong. She grows while she throws guys around.
