"Phyrexian Unlife"
2W Rare (Obviously)
Enchantment
You do not lose the game for having zero or less life.
As long as your life is 0 or less, all damage dealt to you is dealt as if the source had infect.
Say I have 4 life and this on the table. What happen if I was attacked by two 7/7?

Art means ALL. Who cares what's in the textbox?
I do not sign 5yr+ old cards. Please do not pm me for this.
Not great, IMO. Basically reads "fog for a turn, you gain 10 life" for 3 mana that doesn't do well in multiples. Most decks have no problem getting you to less than zero fairly quickly. I'd probably rather have Safe Passage.

In draft, yes. In constructed, I hear it makes you do some funny stuff when you can lose life with impunity.

If you could pay infinite life it would be one thing, but I do see your point. I'm sure many will be searching Standard, Legacy and EDH cardpools (notice I didn't say Extended, mostly because no one cares) for interesting life loss mechanics. It'll get really interesting when the FAQ comes out and states how it interacts with other replacement effects.

Don't you see that the whole aim of Moderators is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall make infractions literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it. Every concept that can ever be needed, will be expressed by exactly one word, with its meaning rigidly defined and all its subsidiary meanings rubbed out and forgotten.
When extended season comes back both will be legal.

If it really works like Tokwana said and you go to -X before having poison counters the next turn you are dealt damage, combo with Ajani's Mantra and go for Cloverstorm's idea with BW Death's Shadow combo! haha!
I love the cards just spoiled! My casual Johnny is excited!
Maybe this reality is actually an alternate reality of a reality in which New Phyrexia was the joke expansion and Mirrodin Pure was the obvious expansion, except our reality is the Time Shifted reality which is opposite of that other reality which is that actual reality.
Hex Parasite removes counters from permanents. Not players.
Who cares about your own poison counters, it's the free and controllable 2 life loss that is good with Near-Death Experience! Choose a random permanent, remove no counters, reuse at will!
Question: If you have no life can you pay for stuff that requires life? I apologize if it sounds retarded just curious. Just want to know if I can pay life through something until something stupidly huge in the negatives to play a big Death's Shadow.

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.

That's correct, if you have 0 or less life you cannot "pay life" such as using the phyrexian mana symbols' alternate cost.
However, stuff like Ad Nauseam doesn't require you to actively pay the life, but merely causes you to lose life, which is perfectly fine, and you can draw your entire library with it without dying.

No, you cannot use any "Pay life" effect when you have zero life.
On another note: that Ajani's Mantra combo is pretty sick...

Well it's a little more complicated then that. If, for example, you are at 4 and your opponent attacks you for 7, you are at -3 when Ajani's Mantra goes off and brings you back to -2. Then your opponent attacks for 7 poison counters and you go to -1 during your upkeep. Then your opponent attacks you for another 7 poison counters and you die.
The trick would be that you would stay alive as long as your opponent could never attack you down to a number less then zero minus the number of Ajani's Mantra cards you have out in a single turn.
Remember, damage continues to accrue as even after you go to zero and below.

I feel like the possibilities for this card are high. In standard it interacts well with dark tutelage, and in other formats there are even more possibilities. Aside from acidic slime, there aren't many answers running around in the current decks to answer something like this. It is more than just an extra 10 life...
Yeah, but it's not perfect. It is a trump to most damage, but you still need to stabilize or they will kill you anyway. Once there, you need to get your life back to positives or you will be in trouble. I think that it creates interesting situations and gives control a leg up, but you can't plop this down and think that you are invulnerable (like worship for example). What it does is just give you slightly more time then you had before. And it's obviously beyond useless against an infect deck.

Near-Death Experience in play with a Hex parasite. Let your opponent hit you with an odd amount of damage then just reduce your health to 1 with parasite and win? lol

If you play painlands or fetchlands, you don't need to rely on your opponent at all.

That's not what he means. During your upkeep step, "remove zero counters from your opponent's forest" enough times to go to one, then win the game with near-death experience.

Ad nauseum+ Phyrexian Unlife= Flip deck go to negative -200. Play deaths shadow give it haste swing ftw.
Correction:
With Phyrexian Unlife in play, Ad nauseum your entire deck, drop a mountain/swamp play 2 zero cost artifacts, play mox opal tap for either a r or b which is the opposite your land can produce, drop another opal legendary rule kills both drop another tap for anything.
Play death's shadow which is massive fling for the win.

So if this card works the way it seems to, where you can take any amount of damage in a turn assuming you're above 0 life when it's dealt and not die. It would be really fun to combine with a card like Form of the Dragon.
