Well you see if you aren't running a million creatures they you probably aren't using this anthem to any great effect.
The problem with this card is it only is as good as an anthem if your deck is chock full of rw dorks. I can't speak for after rotation but as it with champion of the parish basically making these type of decks human aggro this card is going to say "creature you control not named burning tree emissary only get +0+1).
Its not a bad card but as in in current meta I'd take a charm over it.
Wow I am not playin standrd until this overpowered card is banned this is going to warp standard more than mindsculptor and make aggro to powerful
Wizards needs to stop hosing control already
Uh, really? This card isn't even very good given the current metagame. Even putting JTMS in the same thought as Legion's Initiative should be a punishable offense.
If this is a legitimate post, calm down, because the only warping this card is going to do is when it's left out in the sun for too long.
If this is sarcasm, it's not very good sarcasm.

It counters an uncounterabl sweeper so it is trying to hose control and I dont like it
So do Boros Charm, Golgari Charm, and Rootborn Defenses. Where's the outrage over these massively broken pieces of anti-wrath technology?
Boros Charm is far better then this card in standard. Enough of the ridiculous doom and gloom garbage. This card is as likely to hurt control as Search the City is to becoming a Commander staple.

Control is only being hosed because it is too powerful! If it has uncounterable sweepers why shouldnt it be hosed?! I bet you wouldn't be so upset if this card was blue. But as soon as red gets any good cards people get mad even when the card is also white and white is a control color. I respect your opinions but you make me sad, Mharti.

control isnt strong as it is right now and aggro is just getting more and more standard is gonna suck until we see some bans or unless m14 is really good
as it is dimir and azorius have one good card each while almost every boros card spoiled is a standard staple. the izzet and simic cards are all edh playable at best... just an awful set.

No, Wizards obviously doesnt like aggro that much because if they did we'd have more epic Rakdos cards with unleash in this set. There were a lot in RTR but they seem to be going in another direction. And your neglecting to consider other control cards in this set like Emmarra and Teysa. It's because they aren't blue, right?

Into the Maw of Hell is a name so awesome, it deserves its own song.
It would be about a world of brown spikes and red fire, where men fight and scream and become blurry masses. Then it would change to somber, we learn that this glorious place exists only in Raymond Swanland's head. To visit it, you must enter the maw of Hell itself.
Since I use a R/w deck, I am excited for this card. Running 4 main would probably be too much, but I think a 2/2 split with this and Boros Charm could work nicely. I still see a fair amount of Terminus at my LGS, so I'll be happy to have something to deal with it.

I'm pretty sure every guild has (at most) 1 card with their keyword spoiled right now. So Rakdos isn't getting shafted anymore than any of the others just yet. Since this is a set meant to work in conjunction with the previous RTR/GTC sets, fewer cards with keywords like unleash are necessary. Although I am rather hoping we get some interesting use of that particular keyword. The Rakdos legend was a good start.
And of course, really hoping for some cool overload and cipher spells.
Not quite sure I understand this fully, will this be returned to the battlefield along with your creatures after being blinked, or will it return your creatures and stay exiled? I'm pretty sure it's the first one but I'm not entirely confident.

I'm fairly certain the enchantment will stay exiled. Exiling the enchantment is part of the cost, and the creatures being exiled is what the ability does, it then return's "those cards" to the battlefield at the beginning of the next combat. I'm pretty sure "those cards" refers to the creatures it exiled

Anything is possible. What matters is what is probable. Keep in mind probability is a variable we can all alter.

Necessary does not mean not dissappointing. It is quite the opposite in fact because I find this dearth of Unleash cards to be quite disapointing. If Wizards thinks some of the other keywords aren't good enough or well loved enough to print more cards in DGM, that is fine but there is no reason for unleash to be in that same category.
Teysa's not great either. Might be EDH fun at least, which is more than can be said about the other.
Isnt Teysa a good control card? And EDH is a perfectly valid format for stuff to be good in, you know. Not everything needs to be like Jace the Mind Sculptor in Standard to be good. There are other formats for a reason after all.

I'm just saying Unleashed printed on many new cards because none of the other keywords are either. Since the guilds are supposed to be in fair balance, there isn't going to be a lot more of one than the others. Though again, I really hope we get a lot of commons and uncommons that use the abilities in interesting ways.
Also, I say what you're saying about Teysa a lot. When people complain about a card, respond saying that it's good in the only format that matters (EDH). Not everything is intended to be good in standard, although Emmara is bad in all formats.
Back to Legion's Initiative. I don't feel it's particularly format warping or anything like Mharti is claiming. It strikes me as something that should have a lot of potential in multiple formats, which is good card design. I could see this being great in a boros aggro deck (or even RWX deck), as well as being good in a RWX EDH deck that wants to be evasive or abuse etb abilities. Although that said, it doesn't play well with tokens which is a shame. I did like Ghostway, and this is a similar effect, so I like it.

I don't think the guilds should have a balance cause some abilities were better and more liked than others. Why should they have to suffer because there needs to be space for bad mechanics? I understand that might be just the way things are but I think Wizards needs to rethink that policy because then crap like cipher takes card space that could go to unleash. ...I dont know, in my opinion, that seems like an even dumber policy than the reserved list.

I am glad we are agreed on that point, mister Icarus. However, Emmara is not bad in all formats. I think she is good in elves.

I think it is too early to determine whether something will warp a format. It is a strong control hoser which is something we do need, so I hope it will perform that task admireably.
You are absolutely right that it's too early to tell. There were people who thought JTMS would be unplayable, and look how that turned out.
I am sorry that my previous post was not grammatically correct. I try my best but sometimes I make mistakes. Thank you for pointing it out. Also, elves is my favorite format.

Its okay. We all make mistakes and I am glad that you are learning from them. Do you really think this will be like Jace? I guess I should be on the look out for Legions Initiative then...
P.S. I dont mean to be overly critical, sir, but I don't think elves is a format. It's a kind of deck and a tribe of Magic creature cards. Please correct me if I am wrong because that sounds like an intriging format...

Never is definitely wrong. You could have preordered JTMS for around $25, and even during Standard it was $100, and now $150.
You could have preordered JAoT for under $20, and within 2 weeks it was selling for just under $50 (although in that case you had to unload quickly).
There are other examples as well, but those are the two I can think of off the top of my head.
True there are exceptions
I meant more as a general rule preordering Mythics is usually a bad idea money-wise: most of the time most of them lose value rather quickly but yes, you are absolutely correct that there are some Mythics that went through the roof
*Acts as an anthem for 2 mana, that rewards Boros - making it a red/white staple
*Clears unfavourable auras your opponent has used from your creatures
*Can reset a fully tapped board of creatures into untapped for your opponents next attack phase - allowing you to block their incoming attackers.
*Can bait out overextending plays from your opponent via the above method (eg them Time Warping to swing twice through a tapped out board)
*Triggers enter the field effects that are on creatures in play, including resetting soulbond
*Allows Aurelia to reset and create 3 combat phases in a single turn
*Dodges board wipes
*Can have a bunch of creatures enter during your main phase, trigger, and gives them all momentary haste (this is probably the least likely use, but if you're on 10 mana and top decking with this on the board, it's not too bad, especially if you top deck a card that could swing for the win but doesn't already have haste)
*Allows creatures that leave the field "at end step" to blink out during second main phase and return to block (Spark Trooper, Ball Lightning, Hellspark Elemental)
^^^ I think the above alone are enough to make any aggro player appreciate this card. Any deck that runs red and white will pretty much need this if it's creature based.
EDIT: Oh and if you pop this thing with Cathar's Crusade on the field, your opponent will in most cases be forced to scoop
Wizards needs to stop hosing control already
Thanks Argentleman;)
