That common is really solid. Hoping to get him if I go green at the events.
Thespian Siege is really just a worse version of Vesuva, but Vesuva is like a $10 card. Nice to see it though. I don't know if it'll be used in Standard though. Copy a Moorland Haunt? Seems fine, I suppose.

In a lot of cases, it's actually better then Vesuva, which is locked to the land it copied when you played it. Thespian's Stage can even hang out as itself for the first few turns, or copy a dual, then copy a higher-impact utility land in the future.
I don't care at all that this land is actually good. I'm more concerned about how awesome it is at world building. I still remember the opening chapters from the first Ravinca book, when Agrus Kos and Feather had to break up a play about the founding of the Guildpact because an actor was using illegal magic.
Hey if they're in the middle of "The Absolution of the Guildpact" does that mean the two actors on stage are play Szadek and Kos?

I don't always preorder cards... but when I do, It's Thespian's Stage... What a card... I can smell mountains of potential here... I haven't been impressed like that in a long time.

And I think you are indeed correct about that. It looks like the story of how kos fought szadek being retold on stage.
And I've finally found the card I will obsessively collect, as a professional actor and amateur magic player who has always loved copy effects. New favorite card.
This is an extremely balanced card. The fact that it color fixes (In a sense) for decks that don't run green, can copy utility lands, and can hit legendary lands for 2 mana seems pretty much the nuts. The only downside to this card is no interaction with Cavern of Souls. But eh. Who needs caverns 5-8?
Also, running 1 of utility lands ( See Nephalia drownyard) and being able to make this into one is going to mess with standard. Calling it now.
Tron, meet Thespian's Stage, Thespian's Stage, meet your new friend =) This can be a blast in Tron mirrors, get your opponent to play the missing piece of your own Tron for you, also gives you an emergency out vs Sowing Salts, or can act as that second or third Urza's Tower to power up Emrakul or Ulamog, I love it, this will get expensive I'm sure, many decks will be happy running at least one copy as redundancy for color fixing.
I play Tron, and I don't see this card fitting in at all. Tron already has a gazillion ways to fetch up the lands it needs. EDH is where it shines where you can get a second Maze of Ith or Cabal Coffers or knock out an opponents Gaea's Cradle
Oh wow, Thespian's Stage! Mizzium Transreliquat's cousin is a land, and a really cool one at that! Great flavor, great artwork, just... wow!
Slaughterhorn is awesome too. An almost-Giant Growth that's a decent creature as well? Hell yes.

Thespian's Stage, dont know what the dragon maze or next block will show to us about lands to see that really shines, but i think its a fun land for casual, and maybe shine in other formats like trons or to kill legendary lands
Thespian's Stage - A land that copies other lands and grants the copying ability.
Pack Rat - A creature that makes copies of itself and has the make copies of itself ability.
Just speculation I suppose but could we see an enchanment with similar copying properties? Or Artifacts? Although Mizzium Transreliquat may already count for the artifacts.
I know they are different in that the land copies another target while the pack rat only makes copies of itself, but it is kind of like a copying subtheme.
How fitting and interesting it is that Mizzium Transreliquat was printed in Guildpact.
Edit: Just realized this should probably be posted in speculation.
So basically this land could not copy a legendary land unless you wanted to destroy it but my question is does it copy the land completely or does it just take on the abilities? For example, if I used it to copy Overgrown Tomb does this land now become a Forest-Swamp with the ability to tap for both or does it just gain the ability to tap for both. Makes a big difference for me.

Lets say youre playing EDH and youre playing a mono colored deck (like mono green) and no other players at the table are running green. What good utility lands can you copy since im imagining all the useful lands would need to match your color identity to use. Am i wrong?
Well, if Cabal Coffers and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth are in play, you can copy the Coffers giving yourself acccess to a ton of colorless mana for any X spells, artifacts, the non-g parts of fatties, etc. Also:
So an exact replica then? That makes it a lot more useful to me. I wonder what happens when you copy something like Orzhov Basilica though? I guess it wouldn't matter since it's already on the battlefield but who knows.

Because you can up the potential ramp with decks such as 12 post ramp using cards like Glimmerpost, Cloudpost, and Vesuva. You can mimic those lands and potentially have a 16 post deck as people are calling it, which would make the original 12 post deck much, much stronger, even stronger than it already was. You can also copy opponent's legendary lands and screw them over, you can copy your own lands that make whatever color of mana you need... it's pretty amazing.

I like it in any deck that gets the ability to play an opponents cards, but i see that as its only T2 constructed usage.
So GTC = EDH set?
