Am I missing something, or is Wizard's the only one who's in love with that art? No one that I play with likes it at all.

What, the art? The art is absolutely incredible. I want this playmat very badly and if I don't win gameday I'm likely going to buy one of these off the secondary market if possible. The card itself isn't constructed playable but the art is incredible. Really like this choice for gameday. It beats the other playmats that have been released since innistrad hands down.

This is old information. We've already seen the mat, though not a picture of the actual thing.

IIW for any CCC (pick the highest one in the list):
A high-costed equipment (I want it big, but make sure it isn't nutso-broken with Stoneforge. So a high equip cost or a benefit for casting or something)
A Squirrel Wizard
A G?? (1-3 colors, including green) legendary creature with its main strat based on not attacking
Well, looks like I won't be trying too hard on gameday.

Mhjames: mtgsalvation: I DON'T SEE HOW THIS CARD IS GOOD. I KNOW PATRICK CHAPIN USED IT AND WENT 8-0, BUT THAT WAS A SMALL TOURNAMENT. THE CARD IS TOO SLOW. YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THE OPPONENT HAS A SPELL IN THE GRAVEYARD
Im not an Izzet fan, but the art is better than average, and I like the color usage a lot. Would have also preferred Izzet Staticaster if I had to have an Izzet playmat, though.

This guy, would either eat up several turns worth of mana to get a slow permanent that relies on your already have some board presence (after wasting said mana), or dies without generating any advantage.
How about "You may discard your hand, pay 5 life, rip this card, remove 3 digits from any number of target fingers you control, and concede at the end of the next end step rather than pay It Will Go Through!!'s mana cost.
Yes really. don't be hatin'. Counterflux is cooler than both though (art, if not effect).
I love how EVERYONE is discussing Scott M. Fischer cards. All of his cards that have been mentioned in this thread are super similar to one another theme wise. Just noticed the legs on izzet staticaster and oh dear god is my response. Are the staticasters legs broken or something and held up by some invisible force? No idea what happened there.
Counterflux has pretty good art but I disagree with it being better than the guildmage art. The guildmage art is easily in the top 5 arts for this set, I wish I could stare at it all day...

Yup! I wish they'd chosen that as a normal playmat. I would've bought one immediately.

Gonna have to agree with this one, Staticaster has some amazing art.

That said... Izzet Staticaster? Good/great art? REALLY?
Legs don't bend that way. It's like... learn anatomy, for crying out loud. Reminds me of this.
