Very surprised if it ends up being a GB walker, seeing as how we had a GB walker (and so many other black walkers) in Innistrad block. I truly expected a Selesnya walker (as that's a color combo that hasn't shown up yet on a walker and doesn't clash with Jace's blue), yet it's looking like I will be disappointed.
We didn't really get a Golgari walker in Innistrad; Garruk is only a Black card by virtue of his color identifier.

The wedding is over. Now it's time for the honeymoon.
Sold. Ludmilla, Sister of Stone Death. Spark one up.
Given that she's the only one alive I think the name "Ludmilla of Stone Death" is a bit more fitting.
Also if it is Ludmilla and the gorgons are still otherwise extinct, it means she was the gorgon that was captured in last weeks Uncharted Realms article.
I believe it is definitely the gorgon. The flavor article last week pretty much showed that when the gorgon in it "disappeared." I would bet her spark ignited during the prison brawl at the end of the article.
Totally agree. And part two is this week and has a preview card, so I guess we don't have long to wait.

That's a good catch. The story was playing up the possibility of the Golgari being harmed by exposure to the sun so that actually provided a very sneaky way to ignite the Spark "offscreen" (she was stabbed and was in a very stressful life and death situation making it all the more spark-worthy).
Rereading the first part of the short story in last week's Uncharted Realms, it looks like this is definitely our new planeswalker, and almost certainly the preview card accompanying part two of that story. The gorgon character in that story is described as suddenly vanishing after a struggle with the main character; in hindsight, that's pretty clearly her planeswalking away (whether because her spark flared just then or she was just escaping, we have yet to see).
Edit: This isn't necessarily Ludmilla. It could be a Gorgon planeswalker who isn't native to Ravnica, but has taken up residence among the Golgari.
I believe there was art of another Gorgon already revealed in the Choose your Guild feature.
And she doesn't really look the same, so perhaps more new Gorgons have appeared.
someday I'll get this wurm out on turn five, and I will finally be recognized as the man who wasted a lot of time and effort to prove some people wrong on the internet. it will be a glorious day.
The art that is in the preview doesn't immediately strike me as planeswalker art though... there seems to be too much focus on the foreground (which looks like a person being turned to stone). I dunno though, because if it gets a zoom-in treatment, it would actually look REALLY cool though.
Hmm... if this IS Ludmilla, then we might be in for even more power struggles for the Golgari leadership. Becoming a planeswalker would certainly help give Ludmilla an edge if she decided she wanted to usurp Jarad and take back her place as guildmaster.

That would leave Jarad a bit strained. between his scuffle with Niv taking territory and Ludmilla vying for power, the Golgari could be shaken up again. And we had a lot of power struggles in the first block with them...

That's sort of their nature, though. The strong kill the weak, and the circle of life and death continues to turn.
Good catch about the flavor article from the website. I don't know why nobody noticed at the time and thought "planeswalker". Reading it again now with that in mind, it seems obvious. Here is the relevant portion:
"His eyes flicked toward the gorgon, who was crouched on the ground. Pain was making Branko nauseous, and his ear seemed to be dangling down by his neck. The world tipped sideways as crimson light pulsed around him. Branko knew he was about to pass out.
Beside him, blood gushed from the side of the gorgon's head. Her head lolled to the side and flickering light engulfed her. Branko's hands dug into the dirt as if to keep the balance he'd already lost.
When he looked up again, the imprint of her body in the sand was all that remained. The gorgon was gone."

If you compare the foreground and the Gorgon, the Gorgon is a lot crisper with lines and color. I'm willing to bet that the foreground was added in afterwords by a different artist.

Yep, in hindsight, that sounds exactly like a description of her planeswalking. I feel a bit silly for not putting that connection together sooner.

Other than the art comparison, there isn't much that I can think of that would disprove this theory though. Honestly, I'm kinda glad, and even if this is just some other art, it's awesome either way.
They could show that she has become the new guildmaster in Sinker. And there will be an e-novel for the block's story, as well.
Her overthrowing/killing Jarad would make a good plot point, and something I'd definitely hope they'd touch on in the novel snce both played major rolls in the first one.
On topic, though, what are the chances this planeswalker turns out to be a Gorgon from another plane?
No clue. It's certainly possible, but the fact that the introduction to Ravnica in the first installment of the Planeswalker's Guide talks about there being multiple planeswalkers native to Ravnica makes it likely that there will be a native 'walker in this first set at least (Ral Zarek getting pushed off until Sinker, maybe).
At this point, I find myself wishing Jace had just kept his sad little hipster face out of this block;
Between him and this Golgari 'walker, it seems the chances of seeing Kiora are shrinking

I actually forgot about part two this week. Now I'm excited to see the preview!

I like that its GB though! Even though we have had one, if we count Garruk Relentless as one.
This is exciting!
As prompted by certain threads on the forums, I'm now certain that the planeswalkers in DGM will be.... Ral Zarek, Morsel of the Firemind.

That's very true and the fight between Ludmilla and Jarad would add a good story element, provided they actually expand on it and not just mention it.

Let's say it is Ludmilla and she does gain control of the Golgari. Would Niv-Mizzet be able to take her on and defeat her in battle?

If we assume the Realms article is the description of the Gorgon planeswalking for the first time, that would mean she is originally from Ravnica.
Don't feel too bad, I face-palmed pretty hard when that connected earlier too.

Either way, fingers crossed that I was wrong on that account.
