Well, lookie here. This card seems quite strong, and does help towards the problem of not having enough ways to get cards into the graveyard in standard. Burning Vengeance.dec seems like it could be quite hilarious, with this, Desperate Ravings, and Think Twice.
Careful Study in R with flashback seems pretty amazing for many strategies. Because of the flashback, I would assume this will be in Dark Ascension or the third set.
It's not impossible that you could make a major change in design.
Is LED Dredge really so bad that I'm the only one to mention it? It seems like if nothing, that version gets better because you add more initial discard outlets by taking out the basically uncastable Deep Analysis from the deck.
Good points everyone re: LED Dredge. This may very well be better than Careful Study in LED Dredge. It effectively lets you run I admit that my thoughts were only regarding LED-less Dredge since that's what I play (I prefer consistency/resiliency to speed... though this card will help make LED Dredge more consistent and therefore better).
Looting makes sense in Red as long as it's one-shot effects, and not on an actual looter. (Riddlesmith actually would have been a great red card, though.)
Really only *good* if you are discarding flashback cards or otherwise making use out of your graveyard. 1 is certainly an attractive cmc. I could see this finding a home in a graveyard deck that really wants to find certain key cards. Works quite nicely in multiples since they chain together (discarding extras to flash them back).
A solid card, if the right home exists. If there's a Past in Flames deck in standard, this is probably in it. (assuming it gets printed in ISD block).
If real, this is...surprisingly elegant design! Careful Study with flashback is great functionality for a graveyard-centric set, and potentially eternal decks to boot. And the card draw is not-powerful enough to be OK in red. Also a great sign for expanding red's part of the color pie (long overdue, IMO). I'll take 4!

Now that is a really good card. I'm actually wanting to add it to my Legacy Burn deck. Its like WOTC answered my prayers.
Seriously, when I try to burn people out and lands are clogging my hands and I need a win-condition, this is is actually very good.
Seldom in that deck do I need more than 3 lands, so when I'm top decking mountains this is great if I draw into it. Cast this on turn four, discard two mountains, keep hopefully any burn spells drawn.
. And the card draw is not-powerful enough to be OK in red.
DO NOT LIKE! Power level of a mechanical ability isn't tied to colour. If the mechanic is "red" in colour then red can have it at anywhere on the power level curve.

I guess you can think whatever you want, but R&D clearly disagrees with you.
not quite. I think if a mechanic is justified as being in a color's flavor, the argument that they shouldn't get it at a decent power level is without merit.
Hornet's sting was never justified as in greens flavor -- They admitted that it "broke" the color pie -- and thats OK. The power argument works when you are breaking the color pie. As for lapse of certainty vs. remand? I do think remand could be justified in white -- its an absurdly strong spell in general so I don't think they want a second version of it running around, but it wouldn't be breaking the color pie to do so.

I was implying that, given this card is a try at justifying the looting mechanic in red, it is consistent with not giving red positive CA (that being the domain of blue, black, and sometimes green). This card is a great little piece of design without being broken or jarringly out-of-color.
R&D should absolutely expand the scope of narrow colors, red in particular, in a competitive way (I loved TSP block) -- putting looting in red would be a great step, as would giving red exiled/RFG-zone interactions (as many on the board have suggested).

amazing card if its real, its too bad all the good dig cards are banned in modern but this will probly take its spot.
it also has great synergy with past in flames,it turns into RR:draw four.
the desing of it though does seem odd,i mean if anything i would think red would get draw cards more relatable to black than blue, like a red sign in blood or others.the cost is really aggressive too.its a red dig card,i can see red getting a dig card at maybe R1 and a flashback of 3R for what this does.kiki jiki, pestermite, deciever, splinter twin,is happy.
if this gets confirmed i really want to get a playset of past in flames though, thats just too good of synergy in modern.
I don't think that this is a real card. Taking a blue common and making it rare just because it's a different color and you gave it flashback seems unlikely to me. The card also doesn't feel like a rare. The fact that it is inherent card disadvantage, but would be completely nuts in certain types of decks, also makes me doubt it's validity. WotC seems to try to avoid printing cards like that now. Plus I doubt that a card like this would use the magic player slang term looting in it's title.

Am I missing something? Isn't it still 3RRR or 4RRR with Past In Flames? Doesn't strike me as an amazing play.

It's not a rare. This is a promo, which means that it is given a gold logo. I'm sure that it will either be a common or uncommon in DKA.
M, I was really hoping they were going to distinguish red looting from blue looting by having red looting be discard first, then draw. It's worse, yes, but it could be made better by turning the numbers up and making it an "up to".

Unless you have no cards in hand when you cast/flashback this spell. It'd be a cheap way to use Chandra Ablaze's hand-refilling ability or a mini Wheel of Fortune.

They obviously don't have the actual card in hand they are just showing it off best they can with the tools they have.
Feel free to bid on my cards here!
errr, really?
You think because white gets Lapse of Certainty it should also get Remand?
Because green gets Hornet Sting it should get Lightning Bolt?
I guess you can think whatever you want, but R&D clearly disagrees with you.
The flavor justifies the card in INN block.
Red in case you haven't noticed isn't filled with saints.
Examples of this:

You mean like Merfolk Looter and Looter Il-Kor?
The "slang" did come from somewhere.
