Strikes me as a good Standard playable rare, but I don't get any "Mythic" vibe from it. It's a pretty much a slightly smaller Craw Wurm that comes back from the dead, woo-hoo. Cool critter, but it doesn't have any kind of real mythic quality if you ask me.
I gotta agree. This guy is super solid - I'm sure he'll find a home somewhere. But there's nothing about him that's like "Omg, this is so cool!" or "Wow, that's broken!" that usually accompanies mythics. Like, I'm cool with him not being OP...but I feel like they could've done something cooler with it. Like make it come back three times or something.

I guess OP wants it to be 'keyworded' like "dies" was. What word would you replace ETB with though?
When Aegis Angel is born?
When Huntmaster of the Fells arrives?
When Kitchen Sphinx lands?
When Faerie Imposter busts in?
When Dread Cacodemon pops in?
When Malfegor shows up?
calling it now: this card will hit $20. want. so much want.
Undying mechanic is going to force white players back into dispatch, and black players will want to run sever the bloodline.
White has a permanent removal for undying creatures called Oblivion Ring. I do hear that is a card white plays often.
Overall it is a nice card and better then many other non titan big creatures I have seen but we will have to wait for titan rotation before this will see much play outside of pod.
Would you rather have this, or a hydra at mythic?
This is your hydra for the block. Vigilance is a tertiary in green, much like card draw, and both have been pushed recently.
I rather have a not so straightforward beater as a mythic with a bunch of keywords thrown in that makes little sense (vigilance on a green insect?). A mythic doesn't have to be broken but it should be something special and unique imo. This should have been a rare.
Good? Possibly, but man, it just seems boring for a mythic! Also seems like yet another blow against (non-white) Control. Guess I'll be keeping my Skinshifters around to troll this guy all the way to town!
As an aside, this seriously makes me want to consider putting Hunger of the Howlpack on it in response to my own kill spell, just to keep it from coming back.

Quite possibly one of the best 5-drops Pod could ask for. As for the triple-G mana cost, it's green. Green can deal with that because it can ramp for that if it needs to.
I agree that it shouldn't be mythic, though. It really doesn't need to be, it could've been just a normal rare.
You certainly -can- get to GGG, but that also means that your green fixing isn't getting you other colors. Which means that you're unable to efficiently run other colors. If you need GGG, RR and UU in the same game you're going to have to choose 1 and ignore the others.
I think this thing is okay, but it's really not nearly as exciting as people are making it. It's very mediocre in this metagame (bounce, bounce, bounce, counter, bounce) and usually an efficiently-costed but unexciting 5-drop isn't going to make or break a deck. 2-drops are important, 5-drops are candy.
It's pretty meh, they keep making these clunky creatures that fold to what's currently seeing play. Maybe if Vapor Snag and Oblivion Ring (among others) weren't everywhere this would be a reasonable choice, but when Consecrated Sphinx isn't good enough, this certainly isn't. Trample is really the main thing it has going for it besides Undying of course, now it doesn't just fold to Moorland Haunt.
Of course, things could change and this turns into a baneslayer like creature that requires an answer or you die.
If Oblivion Ring isn't reprinted in M13, it along with much of the removal that would deal with this guy are rotating out later this year (then again, so is Birthing Pod). Unless Avacyn Restored, M13, or Hook have equal quality answers, this could have potential later on. Of course, I expect to see something similar pop up by then, so maybe not.

Lapsed DCI Rules Advisor - Retired from playing but still hanging around
Mythic power, but I was expecting a crazy ability... like if it could remove its own 1/1 counter somehow. This is just a beat stick that will kill a titan the second time it chumps.
Perhaps you should just send WOTC a resume and tell them why you're better at Magic than one of their employees instead of complaining here, where nobody really has any authority on the matter.
I rather have a not so straightforward beater as a mythic with a bunch of keywords thrown in that makes little sense (vigilance on a green insect?). A mythic doesn't have to be broken but it should be something special and unique imo. This should have been a rare.
Oh certainly they could have done something that was cooler and didn't increase power, but this is elegant. And of course a wurm has vigilance. It attacks and then goes back underground. The card actually makes sense from a flavor standpoint once you think for a bit.

This card confirms 8 Mythic Rares revealed so far from the set. My bet is that none of the remaining few will be legendary, but we will see a GW Human to complete the multicolor cycle as well as a White and a Black creature to complete the monocolor cycle.
1) White card
2) Beguiler of Wills (U)
3) Black card
4) Moonveil Dragon (R)
5) Vorapede (G)
6) GW Human
7) Drogskol Reaver (WU)
8) Havengul Lich (UB)
9) Falkenrath Aristocrat (BR)
10) Sorin, Lord of Innistrad (WB)
and then those on the DFC sheet...
11) Huntmaster/Ravager of the Fells (RG)
12) Elbrus, the Binding Blade (Artifact)
Is it not obvious why it has vigilance? you will want to attack will this bad boy plus with undying you're more willing to throw it in front of a titan to block. its nonstop pressure.
i think this is pretty solid, standard playable...
This really has no reason being mythic rare. A French vanilla creature, really? Cashgrab much?
I like the creature a lot, but I agree on it not feeling Mythic. Maybe because it's Undying it has a more mythical feel, but no, not really. Still, I love more powerful green beaters. This is one.
I dunno why, but I just don't feel that this is a Mythic-type card. It's insanely good, I'm fairly certain it'll hit Vengevine prices, but... I've seen Kodama of the North Tree before. This is Kodama 2.0, bigger, better, overall improved (who needs shroud when it comes back bigger, you know). This could have been a normal rare though.
This will do some work in Standard, for sure. Birthing Pod this guy into a Titan and he's a 6/5 vigilance and trample as a result? Uhh... That's good. I'm pretty sure he doesn't have Haste simply because of Birthing Pod (cast, swing and sacrifice for a Titan and now you have a 6/6 AND a 6/5 for the following turn is a little too much tempo for the current Standard meta game, methinks). Still don't know why I have this feeling of, "WHY COULDN'T YOU HAVE JUST BEEN A RARE?" in my head. It's probably because I want him for my casual decks and I'm simply not going to spend $10/each on something that's just a good beater, especially in the wide vacuum of casual play.
Well, the tripple-green requirement will probably turn people off, as is its characteristic as a big dumb beater. I forsee him being very difficult to kill, however
I don't really see it as a bad draw most of the time. If you draw it and drop it, it's a blatant show that you can and will take away Christmas if someone messes with you.

Am I the only one who thinks this card isn't that great?.
There isn't a chance this will see play in the current standard metagame maybe after the rotation it could have a chance but I doubt it.
This card also seems alot worse in pod compared to the 5 drop utility creatures it already has at it's disposal.
I predict that once the titans have rotated this card will be pretty good then and might shoot up in price but until then it won't be used in tournament play.
Its not vengevine, Its very underwhelming because it comes back once and has no graveyard interaction
I'd say sell these at the prerelease to people who are going crazy about it like it's the new Vengevine you should make a decent profit.

Kodama didn't have pod or wolf run. Analyzing cards in a vacuum is dumb. If you do that, SFM is bad.
