To review we have Garruk, Lilliana, Sorin, Dack, and Sifa. Looks like 5 walkers to me and the most likely line up for the block. I will admit I'm wrong if better info come out but this is the most logical for now.
I can feel you, the Scars block also had 5 walkers in it.
GW doesn't sound like it fits the kind of person who would be behind the destruction of a town. I do think this further seals Dack in as UR though. Dealing with artifacts and the pursuit of knowlede is an obvious callout to blue. I can't say what would make him red as I haven't paid too much attention to what we've been given about the character. The only argument I can personally give is a rather weak one, looking at that picture in perv's post (I don't like your name) it seems he burned his way into that building. Weak reasoning is weak, I know.
Yeah it could if they were a heathen town - oh hey Polski - as was brought up about Chandra and Gideon.
I was thinking the red comes from him going around stealing things, not caring about the laws related to other people's property on whatever plane he's on. I guess he's the kind of guy who's into the thrill of derping around, engaging in deviant behavior and stuff like that. Living a free and risky kind of lifestyle and pretty much not taking any **** from the man I guess. Not sure how strong that reasoning is either, but that's just my analysis of him so far.
That could all be just Blue.
For sure, if there is some compulsion to the stealing, we could see some other factors in there - but the tag line is unequivocal about his reason for theft is for knowledge.
Indeed far cooler than doing it for money. Money can only get you what someone else has, anyway.
The line only confirms that he is Blue and not Black, but it is quite a substantive thing, to me already explaining what he is doing. The story of his motivations is untold , but I would not suspect anything other than Blue without other evidence.
It might indeed be more interesting if the description is just misleading, and he steals to get some sort of kick, albeit intellectual, from his psychometry... and then in that case, he could be just Red!
In any case, he's a Pirate planeswalker. All we need is for Higure to ascend and then we will watch as they do battles as unto the Gods themselves.

I'm affiliating with who ever deals more Poison counters, unless the other side uses more Purple mana that is. Then again I guess I'll go with the side that has better Riggers, I have a feeling Contraptions will play a big part this block.
I can feel you, the Scars block also had 5 walkers in it.
But it was an exception to have Nicol Bolas "alone".
Normally they want a fair distribution ; while Nicol Bolas is special enough to be the main aspect of a singel set.
So i do not think they will make a set with just 1 walker ; unless they need this super "super" important flavour ; and theirs no real other walker that would justify it.

i thought they confirmed that sorin was the only walker in dka?
Nope. Sorin is essentially confirmed through the flag-ship art. What's rumored is that there's brand new walkers in DKA, and one that we already know or something.

THAT rumor isn't about DKA, it's about the third set in the block.
It's also not right. We're getting two walkers, one that's new for certain. The other might be new, might be returning.
You can't rule out that Sifa isn't W because she destroyed a town. White sources destroy towns all the time. Chandra's hometown was destroyed by White soldiers and Kirtar had his whole fiasco thing with the Mirari.
Plus, if the 5 'walkers are Dack, Garruk, Liliana, Sorin, Sifa and Dack isn't White, then either Sifa or Sorin are probably going to be (Sorin being B/W).

Time and time again, it's been said. Do not expect walkers to be balanced, nor should you expect them in cycles.
I support the nissa revane hypothesis if only because I'm tired of a near all human cast of planes walkers, counting sorin as basicly human.
If she does follow through on her attempt to follow sorin then I htink there may be a small window for a faerie planes walker.
WOTC like droppin ghints and showing connections via card art. They made a big deal (in savor the flavor?) about telling us that Nissa's Chosen is the dead guy on the art for Vendetta... a Zendikar card.
Previously they had made a huge deal about the violet flowers in Lorwyn block being a special Oona thing. Note theire is a violet flower with a wisp of mist rising off it in the same art next to Nissa's Chosen dead body. And they made a point of showing us the card.
The flavor text for Vendetta is from a guul draz assassin, one of the guys that Sorin has presumably been hanging out with for ages. A max leveled guul draz assassin is perfect for out eliminating nissa's chosen bodyguard.
Combining the mysterious debt referenced in vendetta's flavor text with the flower depicted AND the fact that Nissa's backstory has her EXPLICITLY exporting magic and ideal to her home world from Lorwyn's Nazi Elves. . . leads me to believe that somebody fea aligned and planeswalky is hunting her down. Somebody with a grudge, perhaps even
Hey, ya said the initial post was incomprehensible and then rather than allow the option of editing or cleaning it up it was closed. So I made the point again in a general speculation thread on a similar subject. The post referenced as a counter point to my conjecture said my statements held no truth - which is a comment with no validity itself. I may have gone somewhere very odd with the information at hand - but I did not create any FALSE data other than the (very likely) chance of having an inaccurate conclusion.
Dude seriously your other thread already got closed, you need to stop. If anyone wants a fae 'walker it's me but you are grasping at the tiniest straws in the world and it's a little embarassing

I didn't read any Chandra related books so I can't really make any definitive opinions but for the record, just because they were soldiers doesn't mean they were white aligned. And Kirtar's Mirari troubles were accidental. He didn't mean to destroy the northern order and encase his comrades in crystal. It just sort of happened when he used the mirari's power.
White characters don't just go around destroying every important character's village just because it's a thing to do. White characters need to at least believe their actions are justified. And it's really hard to justify destroying villages on a regular baisis and still believe in good faith that you're doing justice.

Definitely read The Purifying Fire. It does a good job of showing different faces of the color white, both positive and negative, and is generally a very good development of Chandra's character in my opinion.

Not to mention it actually creates and establishes Gideon.
I've spoken with Laura as well, you should buy the book so Wizards will think she did a good job.
@Nof: Physically Sorin really is just essentially a human. His body is magically altered, not biologically altered. The spell that makes him a vampire needs blood to perpetuate itself. He's not like the Zendikar vamps, who are almost mutants, or the Sengir vampires, who are essentially SUPERZOMBIES.
Indeed, Gideon is a great part of that book, as himself and in his interactions with Chandra. So good that Wizards promoted him from an author-created novel-only character to cardboard right away.
I really just think that The Purifying Fire goes underrated compared to the other Planeswalker books. Agents of Artifice is good, and Test of Metal gets a lot of praise (even if it wasn't my cup of tea), but this one holds its own beside them I think. This line of novels has been consistently worth purchasing, basically the polar opposite of the block tie-in books.
Ok so what IS with Innistradian Vampires. are they born or "sired". Which section of mythology do they lie under.
If their "sired", i can see Sorin being an important Human before turning all those years ago. Maybe had something going down with Avacyn, got turned Vampirish by someone, still loved her but knew they couldn't be together and now she's gone he's back!?! (lol...no)
seriously tho does anyone know whats the deal with these walkers? and vampires?

I'm still waiting to see them show the different facets of red in planeswalkers. Sofar it's all been the likable rogue who has problems with authority figures. Or Koth. In any case, I find myself starting to wonder: Is mono red ever going to have a major antagonist?

The book shows Chandra as much more vulnerable and/or unsure of herself than her flavor text would suggest. A lot of the time she's someone who really means well but misjudges a situation or her own abilities so that it gets out of hand. Not just the cocky, quip-making Jaya-clone that ends up on the cards.
There have been mono-red antagonists. Latulla, Rakka Mar, and the Myojin of Infinite Rage all come to mind.
About the Puryfying Fire, the character depth and the way their relationship is handled is great. Their adventure, on the opposite, is boring as hell, and stops the book to be great. It was really hard for me to read the passage into the black mana plane or the one with Chandra's "purification". I had the same feelings than during Alara Unbroken: poor feeling of time and place continuity, lot of cheesy descriptions...
It's not a complete miss, but I wouldn't recommand the book.
I agree that these are the biggest flaws. I appreciated the character growth and interaction enough to overlook them for the most part but I can see how the lack of real "action" could be a dealbreaker.

Well, Worldwake only had one walker, Jace the Mind Sculptor... also Mirrodin Besieged only had Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas and New Phyrexia had Karn Liberated and no other walker. So your argument is flawed.
Well Karn might qualify for "super important flavour" , while Tezzeret and Jace are points i take.

No, that's still speculation as well.
What we KNOW is that Dack is heading to Innistrad because Sifa is there.
However, that in NO WAY confirms or denies his presence on the cards other than us being sure he isn't the "for certain new walker."
